Just days after 2016 hotel security footage of Sean “Diddy” Combs beating on his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura was made public, a model is now claiming that Bad Boy Entertainment founder drugged and sexually assaulted her in his New York recording studio 21 years ago.
“Combs’ assault has altered the trajectory of (Crystal McKinney’s) career, denying her a successful and lucrative career in the modeling and film industries,” the filing today in federal court by Crystal McKinney says.
The winner of MTV’s Model Mission contest in 1998, then 22-year-old McKinney met the “Missing You” performer at a Men’s Fashion Week dinner in 2003 and was invited to his nearby studio, the complaint states. Already having been given quite a bit to drink, the plaintiff says she was encouraged to partake of some “very powerful” pot by Diddy – something several other accusers have detailed as an M.O. of the Bad Boy Entertainment founder.

“We believe in this case, and we will be retrying this case,” prosecutors in Harvey Weinstein’s New York rape case told a judge today in the first hearing since the much-accused producer’s 2020 conviction was overturned last week. “It was a strong case in 2020 …and it remains a strong case in 2024,” added Assistant District Attorney Nicole Blumberg.
Weinstein was sitting in the courtroom as the officials from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office announced their intention to take the case back to a jury. The trial could begin as quickly as September, if room can be found on the court calendar.
“We are happy to hear that the prosecutors want a speedy trial,” Weinstein chief attorney Arthur Aidala told the court as he once again proclaimed his client’s innocence. “It’s a new trial, it’s a new day … his life is on the line.”

“Game of Thrones” actor Joseph Gatt has sued Los Angeles County, its district attorney and more for falsely claiming he was a pedophile after being arrested and charged with alleged sexual communication with a minor in 2022. The charge was later dropped, and he’s now calling the arrest “utterly baseless” in his lawsuit for $40 million.
Gatt filed the lawsuit Thursday and is suing L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón, Los Angeles County, L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Angela Brunson, LAPD Detective Denos Amarantos and the City of Los Angeles.
The lawsuit is claiming a “shocking and intentional destruction of Joseph Gatt’s acting career and personal reputation by Los Angeles County law enforcement personnel that resulted from a thoroughly botched criminal investigation, entirely lacking any probable cause, led by an obviously conflicted Deputy District Attorney who sought to destroy Gatt based on nothing more than bias and personal animosity.

Almost two years after Joseph Gatt was arrested by the LAPD on now-dismissed charges of engaging in “online sexually explicit communication with a minor across state lines,” the Game of Thrones actor is taking on the police, the city of Los Angeles and the office of District Attorney George Gascón.
In a $40 million suit filed Thursday in federal court in Los Angeles (read it here), Gatt alleges he was falsely labeled as serial pedophile. To that end, he and his attorneys have put before the court a sordid saga of a 16-year-old “obsessed fan,” a botched police probe, and a now former Deputy L.A. Embattled director Roman Polanski has been sued in a lawsuit accusing him of drugging and raping a minor in 1973.
The filing of the complaint comes as a trial in France kicks off over allegations that he defamed British actress Charlotte Lewis, who he accused of disseminating a “heinous lie” after she claimed that he sexually assaulted her in the 1980s. Polanski has been a fugitive from prosecution in the United States since the 1970s.
The lawsuit was filed by an unidentified plaintiff last year in Los Angeles Superior Court, but it was not allowed to disclose Polanski as the defendant. Gloria Allred, who represents the woman, said that the court recently permitted her to file an amended complaint naming Polanski.

Chrissie Bixler outed herself as one of Danny Masterson’s victims in November 2017. She joined actress Bobette Riales and two anonymous women in filing a lawsuit against Masterson and the Church of Scientology in 2019, and on Saturday posted a series of interviews with Ashton Kutcher in which he revealed Masterson bet him $10 to French kiss a then-14-year-old Mila Kunis when Kutcher was 19.

The mother of Tory Lanez‘s son was visibly distraught shortly after Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David Herriford handed Lanez a 10-year prison sentence in his felony assault trial for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

Armie Hammer, who was facing allegations of sexual assault during an extensive investigation, will not face actual charges, ending a probe that began in March 2021.
In a statement regarding the assault investigation of Armie Hammer, Tiffany Blacknell, the director of communications for district attorney George Gascon, stated, “Sexual assault cases are often difficult to prove, which is why we assign our most experienced prosecutors to review them. In this case, those prosecutors conducted an extremely thorough review, but determined that at this time, there is insufficient evidence to charge Mr. Hammer with a crime. As prosecutors, we have an ethical responsibility to only charge cases that we can prove beyond a reasonable doubt.”
Blacknell continued, saying that while there are obviously sexual victims around the world, there was simply not enough evidence to objectively charge Armie Hammer with crimes of assault. “We know that it is hard for women to report sexual assault.

Nearly three years after Danny Masterson was first arrested on three counts of forcible rape — and six months since the first trial ended in a mistrial — the That ’70s Show star was convicted on two of the three charges Wednesday, according to Variety.
The jury first started deliberations on May 17, before reaching a verdict two weeks later on May 31, a similarly lengthy deciding process to the first trial, which took nearly two weeks of deliberation before the jury declared it was deadlocked. Masterson faces up to 30 years in prison on the two convictions,...

Danny Masterson was found guilty on Wednesday of raping two women at his Los Angeles home in the early 2000s. But in a split verdict, the jury couldn’t reach a decision on another sexual assault charge.
The jurors, seven women and five men, convicted the That ’70s Show actor on forcible rape charges involving two women. They were split on a charge relating to ex-girlfriend Chrissie Carnell-Bixler, who has publicly identified herself as one of Masterson’s accusers, with most favoring guilty, eight to four.
Masterson, who was taken into custody, faces 30 years to life in prison.
The decision caps off a retrial in one of the most high-profile criminal cases of the #MeToo movement. The investigation into Masterson was initiated in 2017, when three women came forward with allegations around the same time Harvey Weinstein was publicly accused of sexually assaulting multiple women. In November, a mistrial was declared...

Danny Masterson, the former star of “That ’70s Show,” was convicted Wednesday on two counts of forcible rape.
The jury could not reach a verdict on a third rape charge, deadlocking with a vote of 8-4 in favor of conviction.
Masterson faces a potential sentence of 30 years to life in prison on the two charges. Shortly after the clerk read the guilty verdicts, there was an audible gasp from Masterson’s family, who were seated in the audience.
Masterson was accused of raping three women at his Hollywood Hills home between 2001 and 2003. The jury convicted him of raping two women in 2003, but could not reach a verdict on an allegation from November 2001 involving a former girlfriend.
After the verdict was read, Masterson was handcuffed and taken into custody. Judge Charlaine Olmedo denied a defense request that he remain free until sentencing. A hearing was set for Aug. 4.

Shock rocker Marilyn Manson just got a legal shock as a California judge tossed out most of the fading musician’s defamation case against Evan Rachel Wood over the Westworld actress’ claims of abuse during the former couple’s relationship.
“The Court grants Wood’s special motion to strike in part,” wrote , LA Superior Court Judge Teresa A. Beaudet Tuesday in a multi-pronged tentative order that has just become final (read it here).
Emphasizing the Golden State’s anti-slapp statute and its protect of individual free speech, Judge Beaudet took a lot of the guts out of Manson a.k.a. Brian Warner’s suit of March 2022. While Manson’s case can proceed on the remaining counts, the big-ticket items are pretty much dead, at least for now. Two men have been charged in a fight that took place outside one of Elton John’s final Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour concerts at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles last November.
The two men were charged with one felony count of battery with serious bodily injury each, with one facing an additional felony count of vandalism or destruction of property, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. They are set to be arraigned on May 15. The charges come around a week after a case was filed, and months after one man was arrested following the Nov. 17 incident, which involved multiple individuals and a 64-year-old man who was attacked in the stadium parking lot.
“What started out as a night of entertainment and revelry ended in violence. Verbal disagreements should never take such a dangerous turn,” District Attorney George Gascón said. “I want to thank the LAPD...

Almost a year after his mental health was called into question, former porn star Ron Jeremy has been officially deemed incompetent to stand trial on multiple rape charges.
In a hearing today at a Hollywood Boulevard courthouse, Judge Ronald S. Harris declared that the nearly 70-year-old alleged serial predator is in an “incurable neurocognitive decline.” Referring to the absent defendant by his real name of Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, the LA Superior Court judge went on to say that assessments he had gone over conclude that Jeremy’s state of mind “would most likely not be restorable.”
If Jeremy had gone to trial and been found guilty, he could have faced a sentence of over 300 years.
Currently held in Dtla’s Twin Towers Correctional Facility, Jeremy’s future will be determined in a February 7 hearing. Following a report from Deputy L.A. County Da Paul Thompson, Judge Harris could rule not...

2Nd Update, 9:50 Am: Harvey Weinstein will not know how long he is going to spend in a West Coast prison until at least next month.
Facing a maximum of 18 years based on the mixed verdict delivered by a Los Angles jury last month on multiple sex crimes charges, the Pulp Fiction producer was originally scheduled to be sentenced Monday morning. However, an eleventh-hour motion by the defense for a new trial pushed Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lisa Lench to postpone the hearing until February 23.
“There are some serious issues from the trial that resulted in Mr. Weinstein’s conviction that lead us to believe a Motion for a new trial is not only warranted but must be granted,” a spokesperson for Weinstein told Deadline today. “In due time, more specifics will become available. At this time we have no further comment than to say his attorneys are making...

In a courtroom that quickly turned chaotic after a trial that seethed with tension both cultural and personal, a Los Angeles jury on Friday found rapper Tory Lanez guilty of three felonies in the 2020 shooting of hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion, which left her wounded with bullet fragments in her feet and could send him to prison for more than 20 years.
Lanez, who was put in handcuffs and led to jail while wearing a powder pink coat with matching pants, showed no visible reaction as the verdict was read.
But moments later after the jury was escorted out, his father, Sonstar Peterson, leapt up and began shouting. “This wicked system stands judged before God almighty!” He shouted, as deputies closed in on him. He then pointed to the two prosecutors in the case and yelled “You two are evil, wicked people. You know exactly what you did.”

As the verdict for Harvey Weinstein was mixed, so were the post-verdict reactions.
Los Angeles prosecutors scored a conviction on three counts, a result that should assure Weinstein will spend his remaining years in prison. But the victory was narrower than it appeared: Of the four women whose allegations were the foundation of criminal charges, only one – Jane Doe 1, a Russian-born actress and model – had her testimony vindicated by the jury Monday.
Her statement was unequivocal: “Harvey Weinstein forever destroyed a part of me that night in 2013 and I will never get that back,” Jane Doe 1 said after the verdict. “The criminal trial was brutal and Weinstein’s lawyers put me through hell on the witness stand, but I knew I had to see this through to the end, and I did. Harvey Weinstein was convicted Monday on three charges of rape and sexual assault.
But in a split verdict, the jury acquitted him of one other charge and could not reach a unanimous verdict on three other counts.
The jury convicted Weinstein of raping an Italian model, identified at the trial as Jane Doe #1, at the Mr. C hotel in February 2013.
The jury acquitted him of the felony sexual battery of a massage therapist, identified as Jane Doe #3. And they were split on charges involving two other accusers — Jennifer Siebel Newsom and Lauren Young. The jurors voted 10-2 to convict him on a charge of sexual battery against Young; and 8-4 in favor of conviction on charges of rape and forcible oral copulation of Siebel Newsom.

Freddie Lee Trone and his 17-year-old son have been charged with the killing of PnB Rock (real name Rakim Allen), Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced on Sept. 29. A woman by the name of Shauntel Trone also faces one count of accessory after the fact.
"The murder of Mr. Allen dimmed a bright light in the lives of his fans, friends and most importantly his family," District Attorney Gascón said. "The accused individuals' alleged actions in this case were heartless and cruel and robbed the world of Mr. Allen's talents."
He continued, "I thank the investigators who presented the case to my office. As we do every single day, we will work diligently to make sure that those responsible for taking the life of an innocent victim are held accountable."
Freddie was charged with one count of murder and conspiracy to commit robbery and two counts of second-degree robbery.

The highest appeals court in the state of New York will hear Harvey Weinstein’s case based on “questions of law … which ought to be reviewed,” the Court of Appeals announced Wednesday.
Weinstein was convicted in 2020 of rape and sexual assault, and a lower court upheld that conviction in June. The Court of Appeals has granted Weinsten’s application, and the ruling on Wednesday from New York State of Appeals Chief Judge Janet Difiore will clear the way for oral arguments to begin next year before the entire court, a court spokesman told NBC News.
“I’m hopeful that this is the opportunity to finally prove my innocence,” Weinstein said in a Wednesday statement to The New York Post.
