It’s exciting to watch some theatrical releases again on different Ott platforms. However, some movies make you wait longer than expected to arrive on a streaming platform. The 2023 film inspired the 2024 hit Bollywood film Shaitaan, which stars Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala, and others.
If you loved Shaitaan and have been waiting to catch up on Vash, we have everything you need to know about it. If you are a fan of the Gujarati film and want to rewatch it, the wait is not much to catch up on it again. Keep reading this space more.

In the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode "Captain's Holiday", Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) was forced to take a vacation on the sexed-up beach resort planet of Risa where his impishly playful crew hoped he would have a drink, get laid, and return to the job less stern and more relaxed. Picard, a studious and intellectual fellow, would have been more content drinking tea and reading James Joyce's "Ulysses" in a dark room.
Luckily, Risa proves to be more exciting than Picard realized. He had no interest in beach shenanigans, but he did fall into the company of the utterly dazzling Indiana-Jone-type adventurer Vash (Jennifer Hetrick), a roguish tomb raider. Picard and Vash end up having to protect a rare, powerful artifact from time-traveling Vorgons, and fall in lust as a result. Picard returns to the Enterprise more relaxed and with a new romantic interest in the back of his mind.

I'm not blowing any minds by saying that "Avatar: The Last Airbender" took a lot of influence from anime. The characters are drawn in a way that they'd look right at home in an anime, but sometimes, the series' influences manifested more specifically. For instance, the season 1 spirit Hei Bai was inspired by the monstrous Angels from the classic mecha anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion." Jet, the anti-heroic leader of the Freedom Fighters, is likewise modeled on Spike Spiegel from "Cowboy Bebop" (and they share similar "unclear" death scenes). Since "Avatar" aired on Nickelodeon, Jet chews on a wheat thread instead of cigarettes like Spike.
These anime allusions aren't limited to supporting characters, either. In the season 3 episode "Nightmares and Daydreams," our hero — Avatar Aang — imagines himself facing the worst of the worst — Fire Lord Ozai. Neither hero nor villain are wearing their usual threads and across the dreams, they change appearance.

Shaitaan Box Office Day 1 Advance Booking Update (3 More Days To Go) (Photo Credit – IMDb)
After Bholaa, Ajay Devgn is looking for a bounce back, so all eyes are set on how his Shaitaan turns out to be. Also featuring R Madhavan in the main role, the film has managed to lift up its pre-release buzz due to a well-cut trailer. But has it managed to translate that buzz in the advance booking at the Indian box office? Let’s find out what the day 1 report suggests!
Before coming with Bholaa, Ajay tasted a blockbuster success with Drishyam 2, which performed much beyond expectations. Just like Bholaa, even the Drishyam sequel was a remake, but the main advantage in the latter’s case was that the Hindi dubbed version was never done. So, a majority of the audience in the Hindi belt didn’t see the Malayalam sequel led by Mohanlal.

Throughout "Star Trek," Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) has engaged in precious few romances. Early in "Star Trek: The Next Generation," he reunited with an old flame (Michelle Phillips) in the episode "We'll Always Have Paris," and it was implied that he had a fling years earlier with a lawyer (Amanda McBroom) in "The Measure of a Man," but those relationships concluded before "Next Generation" began. Of course, Picard had a wild dalliance with Vash (Jennifer Hetrick) in "Captain's Holiday," lived out a life with his imagined wife (Margot Rose) in "The Inner Light," had a time-travel fling with a classmate (J.C. Brandy) in "Tapestry," and had a very palpable romance with Lieutenant Commander Nella Darren (Wendy Hughes) in "Lessons."
Oh yes, and Picard was very clearly attracted to Lwaxana Troi (Majel Barrett), and throughout "Next Generation," Picard and Dr. Crusher (Gates McFadden) shared a professional regard through a definite romantic undercurrent.

Following in the footsteps of the original “Trigun”, a title which the creator of the manga series has described as ‘really excellent' is not exactly easy. Nevertheless, Toho producer Katsuhiro Takei decided to take on the task, coming up with a re-release of the series, which focuses, however, more on the past of Vash, and thus, essentially functions as a kind of prequel for the original series, although the story line does stray away from the canon.

After a gangbuster fall season full of spectacular anime (many of which made it to our list of best shows of the year overall), 2023 is starting with a bit of a quiet winter season. We had some big premieres from acclaimed animators and exciting new original anime, but many were plagued by production issues that killed all momentum.
Still, there were some leftover fall shows that shone bright, a highly-anticipated returning anime that delivered a stellar season, some surprising anime-related drops, and some funny new comedies that made an otherwise lackluster season still rather entertaining.

Look, everyone knows that it’s lonely work being a Starfleet captain. Seeking out new life and new civilizations doesn’t leave a lot of room for romance. Benjamin Sisko found a way to make it work with Kasidy Yates, despite the Dominion War and the will of the Prophets, but for most captains, their ship is their one true love.
Of course, the creators of Star Trek: The Next Generation did hold out the possibility of love for Captain Jean-Luc Picard, tracing across the series a “will they/won’t they” relationship between him and Dr. Beverly Crusher. Although the two shared a mutual love and respect for each other, they never got together, and not just because of the Captain’s guilt for his involvement in the death of Beverly’s husband Jack Crusher. "Trigun Stampede", is the new animated TV series based on the original "Trigun" manga comics by Yasuhiro Nightow, now streaming on Crunchyroll:
"...a sandstorm rages in the land. 'No Man's Land' is a scorching planet far from the Earth, where five moons shine. The survivors of the human race live in a barren land of writhing, deformed creatures, relying on the 'plant', an ecologically-powered reactor that creates all matter from scratch.
"In this harsh world, there is one troublemaker with a bounty of 6 million, called 'Human Typhoon'" who is sure to bring disaster to anyone who gets involved with him. His name is 'Vash the Stampede'.
"Rookie reporter 'Meryl Stryfe', veteran reporter Roberto de Niro, and Nicholas D. Wolfwood, an incorrigible undertaker, begin the journey in pursuit of Vash's evil-tainted twin brother, 'Millions Knives'..."

Voice actor Johnny Yong Bosch is going back to his roots. In a tweet from Crunchyroll, the voice actor confirmed that he will be reprising his role as Vash the Stampede in the soon-to-come English dub of "Trigun: Stampede." Said dub will be arriving on January 21, 2023, a mere two weeks after the premiere of "Stampede" this past January 7.
Yong Bosch is a prolific voice actor and Vash in the original "Trigun" anime was his very first voice-over role. He'd acted before, most famously as Adam Park (the second Black Ranger) in "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers." However, during an Adr session, a producer decided he had a "hero's voice" and asked him to audition for animated roles. A few weeks later, he was voicing Vash. The return of Yong Bosch in "Stampede" comes as a pleasant surprise. He'd previously expressed uncertainty about returning and Vash's original Japanese voice actor, Masaya Onosaka,...

Maybe all good things don’t need to come to an end? We knew that was already the case when the Star Trek: The Next Generation crew continued to appear in four feature films and now will reunite for season three of Star Trek: Picard. But despite reports that the third season of Jean-Luc’s adventures would be his last, producer Alex Kurtzman may have changed his tune.
When a member of the Televisision Critics Association asked if there would be more Picard after the third season, Kurtzman responded with a non-commital, “Who knows?” According to Variety, star Patrick Stewart took it even further, insisting that this show “leaves the door open” for more of the Next Generation crew and that he would be interested, provided that the show can “maintain the work quality” of its first three seasons.

How in tarnation can a doofus commit crimes and destruction that warrant a 60 billion bounty on his head or snag the outlaw title of "The Humanoid Typhoon"? For those who have seen the 1998 "Trigun" space western anime by Madhouse, the question is the running gag. Though the grander and more dramatic question has been, "How much longer can said gunslinger doofus cling to his pacifist no-killing ideals"? In a dog-eats-dog Wild West on a planetary desert in the future, the 26-episode anime, adapting Yasuhiro Nightow's manga, held that question till the end.

There is no shortage of foundational anime series that have influenced the medium in crucial ways and Yatsuhiro Nightow’s Trigun stands out as a landmark action series from the 1990s. Trigun resonated strongly with both its native Japanese audience as well as North American crowds thanks to its prominent airplay on Cartoon Network’s Toonami anime block. Trigun is a powerful genre blend of Western and science fiction sensibilities that introduced audiences to Vash the Stampede and his increasingly heightened acts of gunplay. A standalone Trigun movie reignited the fandom’s passion in 2010, but it’s otherwise been nearly 25 years since the anime went off the air.
Studio Orange, the accomplished animation studio that’s responsible for Beastars and Land of the Lustrous, have passionately reinvented Trigun for modern audiences with Trigun Stampede. Studio Orange’s signature CG style beautifully translates this franchise’s hyperbolized hijinks and Vash the Stampede has never looked better.

Trigun Stampede Episode 1
“I’m really not much of a fighter….”
There are endless anime series that feature hyperbolized action and aloof heroes, but Trigun is a very special piece of ’90s action anime that the genre remains incredibly indebted towards. Trigun’s stamp remains on many series, yet it’s fallen into obscurity over the past few decades. For many anime fans in the 1990s, Trigun was synonymous with genre-bending western gunplay just like how Cowboy Bebop was for bounty hunter space operas. The prospect of a Trigun remake/reboot that introduces a new generation of audiences to Vash the Stampede’s heroic adventures seems like a no-brainer. However, in the decades that have passed since Trigun’s conclusion, action anime have evolved in bold ways and it’s...
