The “…Jennifer” films are a series of strange beasts. The first, To Jennifer, was released in 2012 and was the first film (despite the claims from elsewhere) to be shot completely on an iPhone, the iPhone 5 in this case. The sequel, 2Jennifer, was a meta take on the franchise that saw the films director, Hunter Johnson, play a crazed fan who wanted to make a sequel to his favourite film To Jennifer and ended up killing the cast and filmmakers of Bressacks’ film! The third film, From Jennifer, wasn’t released until 2017 and is more of an homage to the first two films, featuring an actress called Jennifer, whose quest for...

Undeterred by the recent BBFC ban of our first planned release Hate Crime, we’ve teamed up with our good friends at TheHorrorShow.TV to release another film by writer-director James Cullen Bressack: To Jennifer - the first film shot on an iPhone 5 (pre-dating the forthcoming Hooked Up by a number of months), To Jennifer stars Jessica Cameron, Chuck Pappas, Jody Barton and Bressack himself, and tells a story of love gone wrong shot in a cinema verité, as-it-happened format.
Joey suspects his girlfriend of two years, Jennifer, is cheating on him. He is so convinced that he enlists the help of his cousin Steven to create a video diary of his attempt to catch her in the act as well as to document the heartbreak she is putting him through. In an attempt to make her feel guilty, he intends to give this tape to her after catching her in the act.

What happens when you team one of America’s best indie horror filmmakers (directing from his own script) with one of America’s biggest mockbuster makers, The Asylum? Well, you get 13/13/13.
Seemingly inspired by Darren Lynn Bousman’s 11-11-11, The Asylum have, since 2011, been releasing thematically similar horror flicks for the past few years. In 2011 we had 11/11/11, and last year they released 12/12/12 and this year we get 13/13/13 (the title will make sense once you’ve seen the film). The Asylum’s previous “demonic number” flicks told of children, anti-christs reborn on earth, and how they were set to bring about the apocalypse. Well now The Asylum have taken it a step further with this flick – the apocalypse is well and truly under way in this ends of days tale…...

Pardon my language but… Fuck me! I’ve been a fan of James Cullen Bressack’s work for some time now, ever since that fateful day he sent me an email asking me if I’d like to review his first full-length feature My Pure Joy. Bressack followed that hard-hitting flick with a segment in the first Theatre of the Deranged anthology and the notorious (and totally amazing), Hate Crime. Now in all honesty I though he couldn’t top Hate Crime. After all that film was, at least for me, a perfect mix of story and style – Bressack’s directorial sensibilities fit perfectly with the content and you could tell that everyone involved wanted to make the best movie they could, even given the touchy subject matter.

We return with another edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. This week’s feature includes a trailer for The Cabining, details on All Hallows’ Eve, and much more:
The Cabining: “Todd and Bruce, a hapless screenwriting team, get one last shot at success thanks to Todd’s wealthy stepdad, Serge. If they pen a worthy horror script, Serge will fund the entire project. But there is one condition – the script must be complete in two weeks. With the deadline looming and no fresh ideas, Todd and Bruce head to Shangri-La, a serene artist’s retreat, with the hope that the peace and company of fellow artists will inspire greatness… or, failing greatness, at least enough for straight-to-dvd. Shangri-La proves to be anything but serene, as the artists die off one by one, seemingly by accident. Bruce convinces Todd to soak in this...

In conjunction with Psykik Junky Pictures releasing the first official trailer for its new found footage film To Jennifer, filmed entirely on the iPhone 5, the company announced the flick will be available later this year in its entirety as a stand-alone app in the iTunes App Store.
You'll be able to download To Jennifer directly to your mobile device. The app will include not only the film but also some special features, much like a DVD would. A price point has not yet been set, but writer/director James Cullen Bressack promises to keep the cost low. A DVD release is also in the works for the film in the future.
"This film was made specifically for the iPhone," states Bressack. "I am fortunate to have worked with so many amazing people on this project, and I think this is a new and unique way to watch and distribute a film.

James Cullen Bressack may well be a writer, director, actor, producer and much more but now it seems he may become a bit of a trail blazer when it comes to horror distribution. His latest project 'To Jennifer' is currently in production and the twist is that the entire feature is being filmed and then edited and distributed all through the iPhone 5. Yep, that's right the horror movie will be made available entirely through the smartphone and Bressack states 'We are working in conjunction with some great companies to deliver the first film directly tailored to mobile devices.' The director himself stars alongside Chuck Pappas and Jody Barton and will be released under the Psykik Junky Pictures banner. Check out the first new official poster for the project below....
