When it came to adapting Yann Martel’s beloved yet “unfilmable” novel “Life of Pi” for the screen, David Magee admits he sorted through several options. “We were searching for the framing device of the film,” he explained during his video chat below. “We could’ve told it from the point of view of the young boy who had just been rescued by the Japanese investigators, or we could’ve told it in real time, going through until we reached the end.” For Magee, working with director Ang Lee was, “the most collaborative process I’ve ever been involved in. We had the same feeling about what the essential themes of the novel were and what we wanted to do with it.” The two took great measures to ensure authenticity, taking trips to India to scout locations and meeting with survival expert Steve Callahan, who had been lost at sea for 72 days.

I couldn't resist an invitation to the Gay & Lesbian Elder Housing (Gleh) Golden Globes viewing party thanks to the presence of its Lifetime Achievement Award honoree Julie Newmar, the Tony-winner and original Catwoman on TV's Batman, and "Black and Gold" dance artist Sam Sparro, who performed at the event's venue, The Jim Henson Theatre in Hollywood. We caught up with a few attendees on the red carpet, including the purrrrrfect Newmar, the stunning Tippi Hedren, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23's out gay star Ray Ford, and Noah's Arc alum and Dtla star Darryl Stephens.

What are you looking forward to this evening?
I'm going to let the show surprise me! Are there any Brits here tonight?
I just watched you as a mystery guest on What's My Line? You were sensational, and you created a funny character voice.

London, Jan 14: A yachtsman by the name of Steve Callahan sailed the Atlantic alone when his 21ft sloop was hit by a whale and sank in a storm a week after leaving the Canary Islands.
He scrambled on to his inflatable life-raft with a few meagre supplies and a basic emergency kit but was 800 miles from land in one of the emptiest parts of the ocean - and convinced he was doomed.
But against all the odds, Callahan survived for 76 days on the 6ft wide dinghy and drifted 1,800 miles before being rescued by fishermen in the Caribbean, the Mirror reported.
He faced sharks, storms, raft punctures and equipment failure on.

Here's an indicator of whether Heavy Iron Studios' Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse will be a game for you (that's assuming you're someone who's still on the fence about the long-running show): in one of the two levels I got to see during a hands-off preview at Sdcc, Brian and Stewie stumble into a universe dominated entirely by the handicapped, who have seized power and dominate with an iron wheelchair.
Minus a random cutaway, the Activision-published game looks pretty much like what you would consider a game bearing the license of Seth MacFarlane's show to look. You know, if it were a co-op third person shooter tripping through multiple dimensions.
The game is a sequel of sorts to the season eight fan-favorite episode, "Road to the Multiverse," where Stewie and Brian tumbled through alternate universe takes on the Family Guy cast.
