Before diving into an analysis of this year's Oscar nominations, I want to say at the top that revealing all 24 categories live is the way to go. That was just wonderful, to hear all of those below the line artists' names called in the wee hours of the morning alongside the rest. Let's make that a tradition. Now, the nominations… The first thing of note is, for the first time since we've had the expanded field, there were less than nine Best Picture nominees. Every film we were expecting to get in got in except for "Nightcrawler," which actually came up short in a few other areas (Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress) while only turning up in Best Original Screenplay. Leave it to Taylor Swift to turn the Golden Globes into an amazing girls' night out. The "Blank Space" singer, 25, arrived at the The Weinstein Company and Netflix's post-show celebration (sponsored by Fiji Water) flanked by her celebrated best friends Golden Globe nominee Lorde and Este, Danielle and Alana Haim of the band Haim. The group of talented ladies were soon joined by actress Jaime King, after which all of them settled in to snack on Fatburger burger, gossip and bop along to the music. It didn't take long for Swift, dressed in a vibrant yellow gown, to spot another celebrity buddy,...

It doesn't get much hotter than Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello - but then, the ridiculously good-looking couple had to head to the sweltering summer sun of Mexico! The new couple chose to spend Labor Day weekend together down south in Cabo San Lucas at the Zoetry Casa del Mar Los Cabos, and the photos prove their hotness does not take a day off. "Heaven," the Modern Family actress posted along with a view of the ocean (and her bronzed legs) on Instagram Sunday. During the romantic getaway, Vergara and her Magic Mike Xxl beau enjoyed a couple's massage in the privacy of their 2,800 sq.

David MacKenzie ("Young Adam") is in negotiations to direct the true story Colombian hostage rescue drama "The Mission" for Warner Bros. Pictures.
The story centers on a U.S. Special Advisor who worked on Operation Jaque, a five-year plan to locate and rescue fifteen hostages, including three Americans, captured by the Colombian guerilla group Farc in 2003.
Cut loose from U.S. embassy control, he teamed up with a Colombian intelligence agent to pull off the daring rescue.
Peter Landesman and Peter Craig worked on the script while Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Scott Burns and Thomas McLarty are producing.
MacKenzie's acclaimed new film "Starred Up," starring Rupert Friend, Jack O'Connell and Ben Mendelsohn, hits cinemas later this year.

When Demi Lovato landed a coveted gig as a judge on The X Factor, she didn't know what to expect from her fellow panelist, Britney Spears. But now Lovato can say that it's "really cool to hang out with" the pop superstar. "What surprised me the most about Britney is that she's actually really quirky," Lovato, 20, told People of Spears, 30, at a party for the season 2 finalists at the Sls Hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday. "You kind of expect a legendary pop star [to] sometimes [be], like, a diva or something, but she's really not. She's a sweet, down-to-earth, Southern girl.

Carrie Underwood has come out in favor of marriage equality. "As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry," the "Jesus, Take the Wheel" singer - and devout Christian - told Britain's The Independent newspaper. "I can't imagine how that must feel," she said. "I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love." Underwood says it's actually her faith that's led her to support gay marriage. "Above all, God wanted us to love others,...
