As production continues on the second season of HBO's adaptation of best-selling survival horror video game, The Last of Us, we have another late casting addition in the form of an Academy Award-nominated actor.
Variety (via GameFragger.com) reports that Jeffrey Wright has signed on to play Isaac Dixon, the character he provided the voice for in The Last of Us Part II game.
This take on Isaac is described as “the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group who sought liberty but instead has become mired in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy.”
In the game, Isaac leads the Washington Liberation Front (Wlf), who are engaged in a long-running war against the fanatical Seraphites (Scars). Abby Anderson (Kaitlyn Dever) is his most trusted and valued soldier, but she soon begins to question his ruthless and uncompromising tactics.

Nicole Kidman was honored with the Life Achievement Award on Saturday, making history as the first Australian to earn the top honor from the American Film Institute.
The 56-year-old Being the Ricardos actress becomes the 49th person to be awarded this accolade by the AFI, which honors an individual for their contribution to the advancement of the American culture through motion pictures and television.
Nicole Kidman’s Supportive Family
Nicole celebrated her new accomplishment with her husband, Keith Urban, and their two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, turning the event into a family affair—a glamorous one, if I may add. Her sister Antonia was also at the event with her husband, Craig Marran, and their daughter, Sybella Hawley.
Sunday and Faith, who made their red carpet debut at the event, looked lovely in Monique Lhuillier. Sunday, 16, donned a white floral-printed gown with a sweetheart neckline, while Faith, 13, wore a strapless coral trumpet gown.

The fate of “Euphoria” Season 3 has been a constantly evolving topic since Season 2 finale ended in February 2022. Sam Levinson’s high school drama cemented itself as a cultural phenomenon after its first two seasons on HBO — but as many cast members saw their careers skyrocket, the task of reassembling everyone became increasingly challenging.
But even as the likes of Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi continue to build film careers, the show was scheduled to resume production in summer 2024. Levinson had revealed that the third season, which he described as a “film noir,” would jump forward five years in time and follow the show’s cast as they establish their adult lives outside of East Highland High School. But as reports of creative differences and logistical struggles began to circulate, HBO announced in March that the cast had been released to pursue other opportunities this summer.

Looks like nobody is really sure about when ‘Euphoria’ will return with its season 3. Forget ardent fans, even Hollywood star Zendaya claims that she, too, is unaware of when the third season will begin production.
Although the ‘Euphoria’ star is an executive producer of the hit HBO series, she said she’s “not in charge” of whether or not the third season will really happen, reports Variety.

Few current Hollywood TV projects have endured as much public turmoil as the planned “Euphoria” Season 3. Sam Levinson’s HBO drama has struggled to coordinate the schedules and creative tastes of its increasingly famous ensemble cast — which includes the likes of Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi — since Season 2 ended in early 2022. The show’s famously difficult shoots only added to the pressure, but Levinson and company still planned to spend summer 2024 shooting a new season that was expected to take place five years after the events of Season 2.
Those plans came to a halt on Monday, March 25, when HBO officially announced that the new season had been delayed indefinitely. “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” a representative for HBO told IndieWire at the time. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”

The University of Southern California School of Dramatic Arts (Sda) has officially opened its long-awaited new drama center.
The grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting event for the USC School of Dramatic Arts (Sda) Drama Center took place today at the building, located at the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Hoover Street.
Speakers at the event included faculty and USC alum LeVar Burton and Storm Reid, a current School of Dramatic Arts student and actor in Euphoria and The Last of Us.
The renovated historical building preserves the feel and element of the original Italian Romanesque Revival-style architecture, while incorporating green building strategies that make it a sustainable home for 21st-century artists. The renovation is seeking Leed certification for the nearly 40,000-square-foot building at the heart of the USC University Park Campus.

“Euphoria” Season 3 has been delayed at HBO.
“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” an HBO spokesperson told Variety. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
The scripts for Season 3 are still being written. The news comes after a report that the show’s third season has been scrapped entirely.
Production on the show’s third season had long been delayed, in part due to the Hollywood strikes and the July 2023 death of Angus Cloud, who played local drug dealer Fez. The show has also launched most of its cast — including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Hunter Schafer — into the upper echelon of Hollywood, making it harder to coordinate production schedules.
In November 2023, HBO confirmed that the show’s third season was expected to premiere in 2025, meaning there would be at least a three-year gap between seasons since...

The Screen Actors Guild Awards presented its coveted actor statuettes at the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, held 24 February at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. The ceremony, produced by Silent House Productions in partnership with SAG-AFTRA, streamed live globally on Netflix. One of awards season’s premier events, the SAG Awards annually celebrates the outstanding motion picture and television performances from the previous calendar year. Of the top industry honours presented to actors, only the SAG Awards are selected entirely by performers’ peers in SAG-AFTRA with 119,000+ eligible voters — the largest voting body on the awards circuit. The two nominating panels — one for television and one for motion picture — were each composed of 2,500 randomly selected SAG-AFTRA members from across the United States. Beloved for its style, simplicity, and genuine warmth, the show has become an industry favourite since its debut in 1995.

Exclusive: Craig Mazin, co-creator, writer, director and executive producer of HBO’s breakout new drama series The Last Of Us, has re-upped his exclusive television deal with the network and sibling streamer Max for an additional four years.
No one is commenting but I hear the premium pact is in the eight figures. That should not come as a surprise as Mazin has delivered two back-to-back commercial and critical hits for HBO with the Emmy-winning limited series Chernobyl and drama series The Last Of Us.
Delayed by the strike, Season 2 of the post-apocalyptic drama starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey started in Vancouver last week for a 2025 premiere. Mazin co-created the adaptation of the popular PlayStation game with the game’s Neil Druckmann.
The two share writing, showrunning and episodic directing duties on the drama, which transcended genre to bring in large audiences beyond the game’s devoted followers. The...

Hollywood star Jeremy Renner took the stage at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, on Sunday to introduce the first award of the night at the recently concluded People’s Choice Awards.
He helped his fellow Marvel star Simu Liu kick off the ceremony, more than 13 months after the snow-plough accident that left Renner in critical condition. “Gotta say, it feels good to be back”, Renner, 53, told the audience after walking out to thunderous applause, reports People magazine.
He said: “This year’s been a heck of a journey and I’m happy to be here with you, the fans. You guys are the best. You guys really brought this year. You broke records. You turned movies into movements. We heard you all loud and clear, we heard you.”
The dad of 10-year-old daughter Ava then turned to introducing the nominees for TV performance of the year.
