(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched Thursday’s episode of “Scandal”) Wait for it … “Scandal” killed off Elizabeth North (Portia de Rossi) on Thursday night’s episode — only the second series regular casualty — and quite frankly, that’s not enough and we demand there be more deaths. Let’s put this in perspective for you. We are deep into Season 6 of “Scandal,” and only Harrison Wright (Columbus Short) and Elizabeth North, who’s really not even that important to the show if we’re being super honest, have died. It's been quite a year for Columbus Short. After his highly publicized exit from ABC's "Scandal" amid substance abuse issues and various run-ins with the law, the actor formerly known as Harrison Wright seemed to retreat from the spotlight for a while to focus on his music career, releasing several songs in anticipation of a new album. He's back now promoting indie thriller "The Girl is in Trouble," the feature directorial debut from Julius Onah that spent time touring the film festival circuit before arriving in theaters and on VOD today. In it, Short plays an aspiring DJ and regular Joe who gets caught up in a murder mystery involving a troubled...

Harrison? Embattled former Scandal star Columbus Short live-tweeted the season four premiere on Thursday, Sept. 25, while hosting a party in Atlanta celebrating the show's return. In one of the final scenes of season three, Short's character Harrison Wright was held at gunpoint by Olivia Pope's father. It remained unclear whether Harrison survived the run-in, but the season four premiere opened with Olivia (Kerry Washington) learning of his death from a newspaper clipping. In real life, Short, 32, was charged with misdemeanor spousal battery this past Valentine's Day, [...]...

Sooooo who's drunk? We kind of are. We've been playing our Shondaland Drinking Game, and while Scandal wasn't exactly a typical Scandal episode, we were already slightly gone after that episode of Grey's Anatomy. It all started with Olivia, her amazing hair, and Jake drinking red wine and making out on a beach. And that was all it was for an entire hour. Nothing else happened. Good night. Just kidding. Along with her red wine shipment (because of course) Olivia —sorry, we meant Julia Baker—received an envelope containing an obituary for one Harrison Wright (Rip), which sent her sneakin' back to DC to plan a funeral and discover what all of her old Opa homies were up...

We assumed, since the third season finale ended with a gun pointed at Harrison's head, that he would simply not survive to see season 4. However, for a moment today, we had a brief glimpse into another world, a world in which Harrison Wright not only managed to not be killed by Papa Pope, but also was to be played by an entirely different actor. An insider told Uinterview exclusively that Rimes and company have been quick to replace Short and have selected West for the job. “Note to all,” a memo allegedly read from a Shondaland employee to members of the show’s cast and crew. “Eric West will be replacing Columbus.”
It’s uncertain as to whether West will take over Short’s role of Harrison Wright or if he will be playing an entirely new character in Olivia Pope’s (Kerry Washington) team of gladiators. Currently, the Gladiators only include Pope, Huck, Quinn and Abby.

There’s a reason why Scandal‘s Harrison Wright (Columbus Short) stays so calm during a crisis: suspenders. The paid problem-solver has many positive traits–that smile, those lips, those arms, we could go on–and his impeccable wardrobe helps him look cool during any sticky situation Olivia Pope and Associates take on. Despite a collection of well-tailored suits, it’s difficult not to notice the historic accessory he’s been bringing back in a big way. And he’s not the only one!
Less popular than the bow tie, suspenders still hold an important place in pop culture. By possessing both style and utility, they become that much more essential to character development. For example, Harrison is a man who makes a living by staying on top and ahead of other people’s problems; he can’t be bothered to worry about his pants sagging to the ground!
