Director Connor O’Hara’s Kindling has beautifully depicted a tale of the male kinship of five young people who have been supporting their friend in battling a fatal illness. This is a real-life incident that the director has portrayed, stemming from the loss of one of his own friends. The movie has been named Kindling, meaning a collection of twigs and sticks to start a fire, to depict the fire that the protagonist Sid plans to start. He ignites the fire of kinship with his mates in order to exist forever in the universe before passing away. Revolving around friendship, brotherhood, and trust, the British film Kindling is an emotional drama starring skilled young actors like George Somner, Conrad Khan, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte, Rory J. Saper, Kaine Zajaz, and others. The film tells the story of five children without any siblings who eventually end up becoming closer than blood brothers. What...

Cassandra Naud is striking if a little opaque as a predator seducing image-obsessed tourists in Thailand
In this smartly arranged thriller by Kurtis David Harder, Canadian actor Cassandra Naud holds her own as a kind of social media Tom Ripley, out in Thailand preying on vacuous, smartphone-toting influencers while coveting their silky lifestyles. Broken down into four parts following different characters, the film dabbles in but doesn’t wholly conform to the now-standard satirical takedown of 21st-century popinjays. There’s something darker and more solipsistic at work here: Naud’s repeated spiel of “They won’t even notice you’re gone. Nobody cares” is just as rehearsed and trite as other airheaded Insta-platitudes.
Her character, CW, first gets her claws into Madison (Emily Tennant), a fellow American making nice for her feeds but actually moping around the Thai coast because she’s having a hard time with her British boyfriend...

Samantha (Anja Savcic) is a young girl who juggles her life around looking after her mother, her job at a cafe and her Sociology studies at university. It’s a pretty simple existence until her friend Mark (Levi Meaden) introduces her to his friend Marissa (Sarah Troyer) and a smooth talking British chap by the name of Victor (Rory J. Vampire stories are almost completely played out these days. Between TV shows and movies, there’s far from a shortage of media about blood-suckers at a viewer’s disposal. But still, that saturation doesn’t mean those stories can’t be entertaining when done well. Dave Schultz’s Rufus isn’t anything revolutionary in terms of vampire movies, but it’s still handled in an interesting way, full of intrigue, mystery, and emotion.
Rufus tells the story of a vampire (Rory Saper) left alone in a small town, trying to fit in and not allow anyone to find out what he is. He is taken in by the sheriff (David James Elliot) and the sheriff’s wife (Kelly Rowan) after his traveling companion is struck by a truck. From there, he begins to become one of the family, making friends with those around him, including a neighborhood girl (Merritt Patterson...
