In March, BAFTA turns its gaze on the videogames industry for its annual Games Awards. Among the nominees, some of the biggest games of last year feature heavily - including Far Cry 4 and Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor - but what's most interesting about the list is its sheer variety.
Big-budget games like Alien: Isolation dominates with six nominations - and deservedly so, in the case of its sound and game design - but it's joined by a range of less hyped titles, including Lumino City, Valiant Hearts and Monument Valley. The first official Game Awards, the successor to the annual Spike Vga, have been announced with twenty-one gongs handed out to a bunch of the best video games of the year, whilst Sierra Entertainment founders Roberta and Ken Williams scored the industry icon award. Aside from E3, and overtaking it in importance in some ways, the biggest gaming convention of the year is Gamescom which is underway this week in Germany. As a result over sixty new game trailers are being wheeled out for various upcoming titles - some already announced, some freshly revealed.
Both Microsoft and Sony held their press conferences on Tuesday showcasing their line-ups and mixing exclusive titles for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One along with cross-platform ones that will be available on both systems and on PC. Check the features section or click on the logos below to access the individual guides for both presentations.
There's also two collection of trailers for cross-platform games - the first collection includes trailers that premiered on Tuesday, the second collection boasts trailers that premiered today.
