- The first question I ask my clients is 'Are you in it to win it?' If their answer isn't immediately 'yes,' I have to really question their drive and if they are worth fighting for...because that's what being a manager or agent is...at least a good one; you're a fighter and a hustler. And often times it's as simple as that.
- Ninety percent of success is showing up. If you're a performer who has a hard time showing up for auditions, responding to emails and returning phone calls...like in any profession...you're going to have a very hard time making any money. Oh, and you'll get dropped by your agent. Sometimes the answers are simple: Suit up and show up.
- I'm always confused by people who show up in Hollywood demanding things. My deep belief is that we have to pay our dues to an industry...in one way or another. I worked at an agency, slept on the floor at night, ate expired ramen and read everything I could get my hands on. I think I said thank you more times during that time in my life than is reasonable...but I meant every one of them.
- Bad mouthing the competition never really helped anyone, much less you.
- One thing I expect from all of our talent is humility...to take the job seriously without taking yourself seriously. Any adulation an actor receives should come as a direct result of their quality of work and, and equally, their quality of character as an entertainment professional and human being.
