As someone who has plenty of fond memories of watching classic science fiction, I’m always perplexed at the lack of video games that take advantage of the genre. Yes, I know that the term “classic sci-fi” covers entities such as Star Wars and Alien, who have been well represented in the world of gaming. However, I’m talking more about the B-movie classics that felt at home on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Outside of the defunct Destroy All Humans franchise, I’m not sure that I can think of any title that has the same feel. Perhaps this is what drew Fabrizio Zagaglia (Aka Z4G0) to create and develop Albedo: Eyes From Outer Space, which comes to consoles after a 2014 Steam release.
Having been influenced by pulpy 1960s sci-fi, Albedo is your classic alien invasion tale. Players step into the shoes of one John T. Longy, who is...

The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are set to be invaded by extraterrestrials next week, as Merge Games has announced that they will be bringing Albedo: Eyes From Outer Space to both consoles. The Z4G0 developed release, which is already available on Steam, will carry a cost of $14.99 when it launches.
Developed by a single person, Fabrizio Zagaglia (Aka Z4G0), Albedo centers around night-watchman John T. Longy. Stationed at a mostly abandoned, yet still hidden, research facility, Longy’s usual routine is interrupted by a massive explosion. Awakening to a large hole where the ceiling used to be, Longy soon finds himself in the midst of what appears to be an alien invasion. As he works his way deeper into the facility, our hero must not only save himself, but also the world from this alien menace.
Heavily influenced by pulpy Sci-Fi movies that Mystery Science Theater 3000 surely ripped apart,...

Nothing says, "I love you," like spending the holidays with your significant other. Just days after Gwen Stefani shared a video of Blake Shelton kissing her on Twitter, the pair was spotted together at Atwoods Ranch and Home in Oklahoma on Wednesday. The outing was captured on a couple of social media posts shared by Facebook users Janet Williams Zacharias and John T. Price. In one of the snaps, Blake and Gwen are pictured wearing matching caps and happily smiling outside of the ranch supply store, while in the other, the pair is shown posing with a fan. Earlier this month, Blake - who's been dating Gwen since November - praised Gwen after her emotional performance on The Voice, saying, "She deserves it. If you go through whatever she went through to write that song, at least she's getting something good, positive out of it." Shortly after, the duo channeled...

The world lost just lost another shining light: a brilliant artist who regularly shared his vision of heroes and adventures as he created countless pages of comics and an upstanding gentleman who shared his vision of living life with courtesy, kindness and class as he led by example.
Murphy Anderson passed away Friday at age 89. He had been struggling in recent years, but it’s still a crushing blow to those who loved the man and his work. Murphy, a prolific comic artist, was in facet one of the first wave of “fanboys” to turn professional. He was a big Lou Fine fan, and you can see wisps of that great artist’s work in Murphy’s figures and rendering. Murphy was also an enormous Buck Rogers fan and would one day professionally illustrate the adventures of this hero. He had a rich career in comics’ Silver and Bronze Ages,...

The Tennessee state House voted Wednesday to adopt the Holy Bible as the official state book. The chamber approved the measure 55-38. It is sponsored by Republican Rep. Jerry Sexton, a former pastor, who argued that his proposal reflects the Bible's historical, cultural and economic impact in Tennessee. In addition to the measure ignoring serious constitutional issues, it brings to mind a legendary legal case held in Tennessee nearly a century ago.
The Scopes “Monkey Trial” was held in the small town of Dayton, Tn. in 1925. A substitute high school teacher, John Scopes, was accused of violating Tennessee's Butler Act, which made it unlawful to teach human evolution in any state-funded school. The trial drew intense international publicity, as two of the nation’s most high-profile attorneys, William Jennings Bryan (prosecution) and Clarence Darrow (defense), argued the case, one of the earliest examples of Fundamentalist vs. Modernist...

If that famous experiment with those dogs and that drool is anything to go by, conditioning teaches us that frequent exposure to a certain set of circumstances will provoke a fixed reaction. So when you sit down to watch a movie, spare a thought to consider that, hey, maybe you, too, have been conditioned by all that precious escapism you love so much.
And we don’t mean conditioned to salivate whenever you hear the Universal Pictures fanfare, but conditioned into a kind of perpetual state of dumbness for all those hours you’ve spent staring at the screen. Because there are dozens of small things that happen in movies on a frequent basis, that, should they ever occur in real life, you’d stand back for a moment and splutter: “What the heck is going on? This is like a movie.” For example…

The movie was shot on film, and was 2812.69m in length. They built a real bridge in Osam, Bulgaria for the movie, and heres the kicker. The bridge is staying behind as part of the railway network!! Schwarzenegger shot his entire role in less than a week, prior to beginning work on The Last Stand Sylvester Stallone wrote and starred this time round. Compared to the original Expendables movie, where he acted, wrote, produced And directed. Simon West will also direct a remake of the 1985 movie, Red Sonja which also starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. No word on whether Arnie will make a cameo. Liam Hemsworth was cast in the original movie, but a script re-write saw his role being cut. A phone call later from Sly and he was in the sequel. Originally, Taylor Lautner was considered for the role. Chuck Norris’s character Booker, is a nod to Good Guys Wear Black,...

Tommy Lee has banned SeaWorld from using Motley Crue's music.
