The nonprofit We Are Moving the Needle presented the Resonator Awards on Tuesday night, an inaugural celebration designed to spotlight women in the music business in a push for creating a more inclusive industry. Naturally, the biggest name in the game received a shout-out from the podium.
Two of Taylor Swift’s close collaborators — producer Jack Antonoff and mixer and recording engineer Laura Sisk — hit the stage inside Beauty & Essex in Hollywood. Antonoff had the honor of presenting the Exceptional Ears Award to Sisk, a three-time Grammy winner who has also worked with Lana Del Rey, Lorde, St. Vincent and Florence + the Machine.
Antonoff kicked off his tribute by detailing that he’s known Sisk for more than a decade. “She’s absolutely fucking incredible,” said Antonoff, one of two speakers from the podium who noted how loudly distracting the event’s kitchen staff was during the program. “I met Laura 12 or 13 years ago,...

Alanis Morissette appeared on a recent episode of PBS’ Finding Your Roots, during which the singer discovered that her great-uncles, Gyorgy and Sandor Feuerstein, died in the Holocaust.
Morissette already knew that her Hungarian Jewish grandfather, Imre Feuerstein, miraculously survived the Holocaust before relocating his family — including Morissette’s then-six-year-old mother — from the Soviet Union to Ontario, Canada in 1953. They decided to keep their Jewish heritage a secret from then on, so the “Ironic” singer had no idea she was Jewish until she was 28.
“I think there was a terror that is in their bones, and they were being protective of us and not wanting antisemitism,” Morissette said of the Feuersteins. “They were protecting us, keeping us in the dark around it.”
As for Gyorgy and Sandor, it was long believed that the two had disappeared during the Holocaust after being forced into a work battalion in Russia. But, as...

Alanis Morissette was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Friday (December 15th), where the self-proclaimed Wham! superfan performed her own take on “Last Christmas.”
Morissette recorded a cover of “Last Christmas” for her new holiday-themed EP of the same name, which also features “Little Drummer Boy,” “What Child Is This,” and “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).” For her Wham! tribute on Fallon, she stayed faithful to George Michael’s 1984 original, her distinct mezzo-soprano seamlessly fitting into its melody.
Morissette also sat down for an interview with Fallon, where the pair discussed her upcoming “The Triple Moon Tour” with Joan Jett, being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with a speech from Olivia Rodrigo, and a questionable impression of Morissette that Fallon performed on SNL many years ago. Watch it all below.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s unexpected cameo during Sunday’s “American Idol” was almost as big a surprise for Ryan Seacrest as it was for everyone watching.
Following Sunday’s new episode of “Idol,” Seacrest spoke with Et’s Denny Directo, and explained how quickly the high-profile cameos came together.
“I have to tell you, I was driving in and my phone rings and it’s the executive producer and she says, ‘Well, we’ve got some news,'” Seacrest shared. “I thought maybe something happened [with a contestant]. She said, ‘Well, the king and the queen are going to make an appearance!'”
“I said, ‘This is so great. How?’ ‘Well I don’t know. They’re just gonna figure it out when Lionel and Katy are in some room in Windsor Castle,'” Seacrest continued, referring to “Idol” judges Lionel Richie and Katy Perry, who are in England after performing at the Coronation Concert.

Sunday night’s all-new “American Idol” saw a newly crowned King Charles III and Queen Camilla give a royal surprise to audiences from across the pond with judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.
Charles and Camila’s surprise appearance on the long-running singing competition series came at the start of Sunday’s show and just hours after both Perry and Richie performed at the king’s coronation concert at Windsor Castle.
Perry and Richie, who were broadcasting live from the castle for their address, were met by the new monarchs who jokingly asked how long they were planning to use the room for.
Jokes aside, both Charles and Camilla thanked the singers for their “brilliant” performances and invited Perry and Richie to the concert’s afterparty as soon as they wrap up their Idol duties.

The American Idol judging panel will look very different for one night only.
ABC has announced that Katy Perry and Lionel Richie will not be present on the reality series's Sunday, May 7 episode, and there's a very good reason.
Perry and Richie are both scheduled to attend the coronation of King Charles III.
The episode will still feature the pair in some capacity as they are set to appear live from Windsor Castle.
You probably have questions about who will join Luke Bryan to judge in their absence.
Thankfully, that news has already been revealed.
Ed Sheeran and Alanis Morissette will appear in the coveted judges' seats.
Morissette was already set to appear as a mentor in the episode.
The finalists are set to sing songs from both Sheeran and Moresette's song catalogs, which should make for a fun night.
Bryan addressed the decision to switch things up in Perry and Richie's absences.
