After constant exposure to the film industry while living in Los
Angeles and studying at the University of Southern California, Lauren
relocated to New York City. She holds a BA in Theatre and Applied Theatre
Arts in Education. She has produced a series of independent
films, including Sugar! (dir. Shari Berman), Saint Janet (co-producer;
dir. Habib Azar), Dark (assoc producer; dir. Nick Basile, exec prod.
Joe Dante), Moving Forward (dir. Joshua Weber; Newport Beach Film
Festival, Manhattan Film Festival, San Diego Black Film Festival), The
Days God Slept (dir. Jeremiah Kipp; Coney Island Film Festival,
HorrorHound Film Festival, Award for Best Director); Becoming Mim (dir.
Maggie Surovell), and Lauren directed an adaptation of the recently
published novel Beautiful Garbage in an ongoing collaboration with
writer Jill Di Donato. Lauren's company {LRP} produces a mixture of
eight to twelve stage, film, and multi-media projects a year. She
offers production, fundraising, and marketing consultations on a per
project basis. Considered a crowd-funding expert after appearing on
NPR's Marketplace to discuss producing independent work, Lauren has
raised a total of $202,011 across 23 online crowd-funding campaigns via
Kickstarter and Indiegogo.
