- A pianist since childhood, Eduardo VC is born in Cuernavaca, Morelos and follows his passion for music through private lessons until the age of 18. After graduating from a BA of Arts in Music (Cum Laude) in Universidad de las Americas, Puebla (2009), he travels to Bristol, UK to continue his studies. He completes the MA in Composition for Film & TV (With Merit) at the University of Bristol (2011) whilst assisting Professor Jonathan Scott in the university's recording studios The Victoria Rooms and working as a sound engineer for live music and theatre performances at The Cube Cinema.
In 2012, he joins Films@59, the main post-production company in SW England, where he receives training in Foley, Sound Editing and Mixing. He will later be involved with companies such as BBC, Carnival Films, Sky Vision, Indus films, amongst others. From 2016 to 2019 he joins Audioflot getting involved in numerous international films, series and collaborations including Birds of Prey, Chicuarotes, Midnight Family and Nomadas.
In 2017 he is invited to take part of the CRYPTIC Spring Residency in Scotland and is sponsored by the Anglo Arts: The Anglo Mexican Foundation, pioneering the residency program Seeing Hearing UKMX (SHUM). He is invited to be part of the Berlinale Talents workshop in Guadalajara in 2017 & 2019. On Summer 2020 he develops and leads the Experimental Soundtrack 101 workshop for the International Film and Genre Studies Festival: Imperfectu. He was recently awarded with a grant to develop his project Huella Chinampa, an interactive sound installation inspired by Xochimilco's prehispanic agriculture and which was supported by Mexico's Secretaría de Cultura through Ecos Sonoros: Red de Creacion.
Inspired by the Musique Concrete movement, his work is developed through the sonic exploration of field recordings, synthesizers and folk acoustic instruments. He has worked with artists such as Phillip Glass, Patti Smith, Ofelia Medina and Gael Garcia Bernal.
