Ice Age 5 is now called Ice Age: Collision Course. Expect it next summer...
One of the biggest animated movie franchises on the planet is Blue Sky Studios' Ice Age series of films. Whilst the movies tend to settle at around $160-195m of box office takings in the Us, outside of America, for some time now Ice Age films have brought in sizeable sums for 20th Century Fox.
For instance, the fourth and most recent Ice Age adventure thus far, Ice Age: Continental Drift, brought in a global total of $877m. The one before, 2009's Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs, made $886m.
It came as a surprise to nobody then that Fox greenlit Ice Age 5, and now we know what it's going to be called. The movie will go by the name of Ice Age: Collision Course, and the studio has also moved the planned release date forward by a week.
