They will never understand… as long as you keep the secret! Huh! We have a much better version of that red band trailer for the upcoming Maniac movie, as well as some new images from the whole thing, so I definitely recommend you to check it out! Elijah Wood and Nora Arnezeder together in a totally sick and creepy film which comes from director Franck Khalfoun and is, by the way, written by Alexandre Aja? Sign me in, please!
We previously shared an international red band trailer (not much of a quality, though) and some cool images from the movie, and as you’ll see, this new video looks pretty much the same. But what the hell – you can consider this report as a little reminder that Khalfoun’s movie opens soon, and that you should not miss it!

The original was good, the remake is a milestone. Well, not bad description at all! We have another poster and some new images from the upcoming Maniac movie, and I’m sure you’re going to enjoy. If you’re a sadist or something like that, ’cause Elijah Wood is one sick bastard in these pics. Frodo Baggins gone crazy, for sure!
So, as you already know, the movie comes from director Franck Khalfoun and is actually a remake of William Lustig‘s brutal 1980 film of the same name.
Alexandre Aja stands behind the script which, this time, centers on a guy named Frank, who develops a dangerous obsession with a young artist.
Now imagine Elijah Wood as Frank, and Nora Arnezeder as that young artist named Anna. Their friendship looks almost perfect…
Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store. She’s a young artist asking for his help with her new exhibition.

An incomplete French teaser trailer, unfortunately. But what you do get (around 90 seconds) is pretty intense, it is in English, and more importantly, Elijah Wood is pretty wicked. Really, who knew Frodo Baggins could be so scary? The film is currently selling over at Cannes, so who knows when we’ll get the full trailer/teaser, but when we do get it we will update this post. Until then, this will just have to do. Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt. Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank’s obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill. Also starring America Olivo, Nora Arnezeder,...

The Grudge director Takashi Shimizu’s latest project is titled Scared of the Dark and is being developed by Ghost House Pictures. We’ve received some new casting and character information, and wanted to share it with our readers.
It was previously announced that Morgane Slemp and David Gallagher were cast in the film. The movie will center around Olivia (Slemp) and her boyfriend Adam (Gallagher), and the story is said to be similar in nature to The Grudge. Other actors that have joined the cast include Dawn of the Dead‘s Jake Weber playing the part of Olivia’s father, Chloé Auger playing a younger Olivia, and Yuya Ozeki (The Grudge series).
Although not yet cast in the film, we hear that producers have been looking at Marielle Jaffe for the role of Olivia’s sister and it is looking likely that Alison Lohman will join the cast as Adam’s sister.
