Granted, it may be fair to say that The Sense of an Ending is probably not the type of movie that most Lrm readers would actively seek out, being a pretty serious British drama based on the prize-winning 2011 novel by Julian Barnes.
It stars Oscar winner Jim Broadbent as photographer Tony Webster, who reflects back on his college days in the ‘60s when someone he knew as a child passes away, leaving him a diary that may explain why their friendship fell apart over a pretty woman who came between them named Veronica (played by Scottish actress Freya Mavor from Skins in the past and Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling in the present).
Sure, The Sense of an Ending may be more of a movie you go to see with your parents, or even grandparents, but what makes the film interesting to film lovers is that it’s the first English...

Deadpool continues to rack up the dollars, so Deadpool continues to silently change the landscape of 20th Century Fox as Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice enters the final marketing push in the foreground.
First, we were supposed to get two more X-Movies this year, at least according to the previous release schedule we were working off. X-Men: Apocalypse will still drop at the end of May (as Captain America: Civil War wears off from earlier in the month), but October 7, 2016 is no longer the release date for Gambit, starring Channing Tatum. It appears that movie has been pulled from the schedule entirely.

The interesting additions were an untitled Fox/X-Men movie a year later on October 6th, 2017 and a second untitled Fox/X-Men movie for January 12th, 2018. The things we can plug in those release dates that we...

Clearly the abysmal reaction to and box office performance of Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot hasn’t put actor Michael B. Jordan off from appearing in comic book based movies in general, as it’s being reported that he’s signed on to star in a big-screen adaptation of Dark Horse graphic novel, Blood Brothers.
MGM is producing the flick, which is described as a buddy action-comedy with horror elements – as in, the main characters are vampires. Here’s the synopsis for the graphic novel by Etan Cohen, Mike Gagerman and Andrew Waller:
After a century of friendship, smoking opium with Genghis Khan and having orgies in Michelangelo’s studio, two inseparable vampire buddies are on the verge of splitting up. Terrible timing, as an apocalypse-obsessed villain is plotting an end to humanity. Looks like Nick and Tree, immortal best buds getting by as bail bondsmen, are humanity’s last hope…...

The Fantastic Four reboot is fast approaching, and one talking point that's already emerging about the comic book blockbuster is one of the lead characters' lack of underwear.
Superhero fans will know that Jamie Bell's Ben Grimm gets permanently mutated into rock form after an inter-dimensional mishap - but who'd have thought his absence of trousers would cause such a stir?
Everything we know so far about the Fantastic Four reboot
Previous incarnations of Fantastic Four have seen the character cover his modesty, but this new darker, grittier reboot is taking an entirely new approach. What on earth has happened to The Thing's pants? And does he, in fact, still have 'a thing'?
Watch The Thing - sans pants - in the Fantastic Four TV trailer above, then scroll down below to get a flavour for some of the (still ongoing) social reaction.
Still can't get over that we...

Some of the most memorable characters in movie history are antagonists. Here are our picks for the franchises that have make the biggest impression based on their villains alone.
A great antagonist in a film can make the effort of the protagonist seem more important. The hero’s plight becomes elevated to have meaning beyond just simple entertainment. It is those struggles that define some of the best movies ever made, and give the audience something to really cheer about.
It’s challenging enough to make one good antagonist, but what happens when you need to make a sequel? What happens if your antagonist has died but your protagonist needs more adventures to keep them busy or complete their story? Maintaining quality villains in a movie franchise is not easy to do. Some movie franchises have had better success at maintaining great antagonists, to the point of often being more...

One.
That's how many of the 50 top-rated programs I watched last week. "Suits," the new legal show on USA that ranked 10th among cable shows. It's not that I don't watch television in the summer. I watched the amazing finale of "Luther," the phenomenal season two finale of "Men of a Certain Age," "Wilfred," "Louis," "Weeds," the dreadful "The Big C," the still cute, "Love Bites," and "Torchwood: Miracle Day." The lowest rated of the top 25 cable programs last week was 3.78 million viewers; the lowest rated of the network programs last week was 1.9 million. That means that more people are watching telenovas on Univision than "Louis."
Make of that what you will. The Spanish-speaking population in the United States is growing.
The disheartening news is that three of the top four rated shows on network television last week were editions of "America's Got Talent." The heartening news is that less...

Expedition Impossible is right around the corner, and I have a lot of preview material to get your ready. If you're a fan of other competition reality shows, but don't think there is enough chance that the contestants might - fall to their death, succumb to heat stroke, or break a bone - then here is the show for you.
The show takes 13 teams of, more or less, ordinary individuals, and throws them to the mercy of the elements, unique and sometimes terrifying challenges, and the last team to finish each week ends their journey.
Kicking off with a mere climb up a giant sand dune, and a trek on camels, the teams are then left scratching their heads in the middle of the dessert with the unhelpful instruction that they have to find some water. As the heat rages down on them, the strength of will and teamwork of...
