While fanboys everywhere wait impatiently to see whether or not Ghostbusters 3 will ever actually happen, there is an artist out there on the Internets who has created some jaw-droppingly beautiful 3D art that makes me wonder just how freaking awesome a CGI Ghostbusters movie could be.
Depicting each of our four heroes with iconic paranormal creatures from the films, these pieces look just as fantastic as any Pixar or DreamWorks effort, and one can imagine how they would look in action.
These images were created by 3D artist Fabrizio Fioretti. And they must’ve taken an insane amount of time to complete.
You can view higher-res versions of these pictures and more of Fioretti’s artwork at his website, www.kip3d.net.

Here are some cool Pixar-like Ghostbuster images from Italian artist, Fabrizio Fioretti. The images were posted on /Film today and here is a description of the CGI images. When asked why he created these images he stated I am “a big fan and I haven’t seen anybody doing it (in CG) so far…”
Check out th images and a further description from Fioretti:
It’s a personal project, took me long time as I could work on it only in the evening and weekends. I ‘ve also done everything on my own (design, modelling, texturing, lighting, rendering…etc…). I don’t have any further plan at the moment as an animation would take a time or more time, which I don’t have… Maybe some other GBs images…maybe. :) From a technical point of view, I used 3D and 2D softwares like Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop and Nuke. I...

There are some truly great graphic artists out there online who turn in work that rivals those of the professionals who get paid the big bucks. Evidence such another great talent has just manifested itself over at SlashFilm in the form of some great computer animated character designs for one of my favorite films of all-time: Ghostsbusters. The man behind the work in question is Fabrizio Fioretti who merely worked on these designs in his free time on evenings and weekends. These are truly breathtaking and make our proton-packing heroes look like they just came straight out of Pixar Animation Studios. See them below! Here are Fabrizio Fioretti's computer animated Ghostbusters characters (click for larger versions): I love the fact that he included some of the trademark ghosts from the movie with each of the characters. Honestly, if Columbia Pictures isn't ever going to get around to a live-action Ghostbusters 3,...

In February I e-mailed Italian graphic artist Fabrizio Fioretti [1] about a couple Ghostbusters images I had seen floating around the internet forums. The images were created in 3D, and can only be described as a Pixar-like adaptation of the Ghostbusters characters we know and love. Check out the designs after the jump. [gallery columns="2"] Fioretti told me that there were "no particular reasons" why he decided to create CGI versions of the Ghostbusters other than being "a big fan and I haven't seen anybody doing it (in CG) so far..." Here is an excerpt from my e-mail conversation with Fioretti: It's a personal project, took me long time as I could work on it only in the evening and weekends. I 've also done everything on my own (design, modelling, texturing, lighting, rendering...etc...). I don't have any further plan at the moment as an animation would take a time or more time,...
