"Who's next?" Sony Pictures has revealed an official trailer for a horror movie arriving this summer titled Tarot, about tarot cards, obviously. After those Ouija board movies, it was inevitable that one day someone would make a Tarot horror and here we are. This project was also titled Horrorscope since it's adapted from a book called "Horrorscope", but it has been switched back to just Tarot for the release in May. The plot centers on a group of college friends who start dying in ways that are connected to their fortunes after having their horoscopes read. Before their time runs out, they have to work together to uncover the mystery. "Your fate is in the cards" - of course. Tarot stars Harriet Slater, Adain Bradley, Avantika, and Jacob Batalon, along with Humberly González, Alana Boden, Larsen Thompson. Well unfortunately looks as cheesy as could be, with plenty of obvious horrific moments and jump scares.

Last month, it was announced that the movie had been given a May 10th theatrical release date. Today, with the release date still a few months away, a trailer for the film has arrived online… and this trailer reveals that Horrorscope has undergone a title change. It’s now known as Tarot! You can watch the trailer in the embed above.
Best known for playing Peter Parker’s best friend Ned in the recent Spider-Man movies, Jacob Batalon plays the title character in the horror comedy Syfy / Hulu / Amazon series Reginald the Vampire, and also has a lead role in Tarot. Earlier this year, Sony / Screen Gems announced that they would be giving the horror film Horrorscope a theatrical release on June 28, 2024. But in late October, Paramount announced that they were moving A Quiet Place: Day One from its previously announced March 8, 2024 release date to June 28. So it’s no surprise to hear (via Borys Kit) that Screen Gems has decided to shift Horrorscope forward to May 10th. Thanks to A Quiet Place: Day One, we’re going to see Horrorscope a month earlier.

Screen Gems horror movie Horrorscope had been set for theatrical release on June 28, 2024, a prime summer slot, but we’ve learned this week that Sony has re-dated the movie.
Horrorscope will now release in theaters on May 10, 2024.
Why the move? It may have something to do with the fact that A Quiet Place: Day One is currently dated for theatrical release on June 28, moving into that new date just last month.
Jacob Batalon (“Reginald the Vampire”), Alana Boden (The Invitation), Adain Bradley (Wrong Turn: The Foundation) and Avantika (Senior Year) will star alongside Humberly González (Nobody), Wolfgang Novogratz (Assassination Nation), Larsen Thompson (“The Midnight Club”), Harriet Slater (“Pennyworth”) and Olwen Fouéré (Mandy).
Anna Halberg and Spenser Cohen (Moonfall) wrote the script and will direct the movie.

Formerly titled The Bride, the Dracula-inspired horror movie The Invitation was released in theaters by Sony’s Screen Gems on August 26, debuting in the #1 spot on the box office charts with 6,805,468 in 3,114 theaters in the US. Now in its second week of release, the vampire movie added another 6 million to its domestic total across the four-day Labor Day Weekend.
The film’s domestic total is now 15,045,000, with The Invitation finding itself in the #5 spot on the domestic charts. Worldwide, The Invitation has sunk its teeth into 18,545,000.
The Invitation has been compared by many fans to Ready or Not, a horror movie that opened with 8 million domestically back in 2019. That film ended up legging its way to 28.7 million in the United States and 57.6 million worldwide, numbers The Invitation isn’t likely to hit.
Nevertheless, The Invitation is out-pacing expectations in theaters. And with a reported 10 million production budget attached to it,...

The Dracula-inspired horror film The Invitation (formerly known as The Bride) is now in theatres, and just opened at #1 at the domestic box office with a weekend haul of 7 million. Our own Chris Bumbray was surprised at how bloody the film was for something with a PG-13 rating, and he mentioned that to director Jessica M. Thompson (The Light of the Moon) during an interview – which you can watch in the video embed above. Thompson said they had to darken the blood to get by with a PG-13… but during an interview with our friends at Bloody Disgusting, she also said that there is an R-rated cut of The Invitation that’s going to get a streaming release!
Thompson said,

Formerly titled The Bride, the Dracula-inspired horror movie The Invitation is on the way from Sony’s Screen Gems, sinking its fangs into theaters on August 26, 2022.
Jessica M. Thompson directed the upcoming horror movie, rated “PG-13” for…
“Terror, violent content, some strong language, sexual content and partial nudity.”
Described as “a contemporary horror thriller,” The Invitation tells “the story of a young woman who is courted and swept off her feet, only to realize a gothic conspiracy is afoot.”
That “gothic conspiracy,” it turns out, involves blood-drinking, with Evie drawn into a world of vampires. This is very much a Dracula tale, only with a fresh new twist to it.
Here’s the full plot synopsis: “After the death of her mother and having no other known relatives, Evie (Nathalie Emmanuel) takes a DNA test…and discovers a long-lost cousin she never knew she had. Invited by her newfound family...

"As you all know, there has been someone missing from this table." Screen Gems has revealed the official trailer for a sneaky new British horror thriller titled The Invitation, from Australian filmmaker Jessica M. Thompson. Also known as The Bride, this takes place in England, but was filmed in Hungary crazy enough. Not to be confused with the other indie horror hit also titled The Invitation from 2015. A young woman discovers through a DNA test that she has a long lost, "very white" cousin, who invites her out to a lavish wedding in the English countryside. But she soon discovers that "a gothic conspiracy is afoot" involving her family's history. Nathalie Emmanuel stars as Evie, with Thomas Doherty, Stephanie Corneliussen, Alana Boden, Courtney Taylor, Hugh Skinner, and Sean Pertwee. This starts like Get Out but turns into something much creepier at the dinner. Does it give away who they are,...

There is gothic business afoot in Lifetime’s Flowers in the Attic: The Origin, a four-part prequel to the V.C. Andrews bestsellers. Kelsey Grammer is a wealthy family patriarch; Alana Boden is his pregnant Mrs. in a tale of dark family matters — and revenge. Joining them for the dark tale are costars Hannah Dodd, Max Irons, Jemima Rooper, Paul Wesley, and Harry Hamlin among others. The Origin follows Olivia Winfield (Rooper), who finds herself wooed by Irons’ Malcolm Foxworth. After a whirlwind romance, Olivia soon discovers that her fairytale life as the mistress of Foxworth Hall isn’t what she once imagined. The new series chronicles the events that eventually led to her notorious decision to lock her grandchildren in the attic. In the first look photo above is Malcolm’s father, Garland (Grammer), who takes a young bride in Boden’s Alicia, which will all play a role in uncovering the person Olivia becomes.

"Black Mirror meets Die Hard." Signature Entertainment has debuted an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Feedback, a new film "from the creators of Rec and The Shallows." This film is actually the feature directorial debut of a Spanish filmmaker, and is about a radio star who experiences the worst night of his life when stalkers assault the radio station where he's working. It seems to be a contained thriller at a radio station when hooligans take over. Eddie Marsan stars as Jarvis Dolan, with a cast including Paul Anderson, Ivana Baquero, Richard Brake, Oliver Coopersmith, Alexis Rodney, Anthony Head, Alana Boden, and Nacho Aldeguer. It's next premiering at FrightFest in the UK coming up soon, which is what this trailer is promoting. This looks intense and terrifying - might be a good one. "You're on the air!"
