Benedict Cumberbatch is set to star in the World War II film “War Magician,” with “Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow attached to direct.
Though Cumberbatch has flexed his magic skills as Marvel’s Doctor Strange, this next film will cast him as a British soldier who uses his skills as an illusionist to fight in World War II. “War Magician” is based on a book by David Fisher and is based on the real life story of Jasper Maskelyne, who was a world famous magician in the 1930s but is best known today for his work in the war, where he claimed to create large scale ruses, camouflage and deception as a means of defeating the Nazis.
The book in particular shows how he managed to “hide” the Suez Canal from German bombers or made fake portable craters — or “bomb holes” — to make the enemy think they hit their target.

Exclusive: As he prepares to re-start production on Jurassic World: Dominion, director Colin Trevorrow is re-teaming with Universal Pictures on Atlantis, a thriller about the mythical city that Trevorrow and his Metronome Film Co. will produce.
Based on a story by Trevorrow and Matt Charman (Bridge Of Spies), Atlantis will be written by Dante Harper, whose scripts include the original spec All You Need Is Kill that became the Tom Cruise thriller Edge Of Tomorrow, Alien: Covenant and most recently Forever, scripted for Rogue One director Gareth Edwards.
Unlike previous incarnations of the mythical city as an underwater kingdom, Trevorrow’s Atlantis is set on a lost continent in the Indian Ocean between Africa, India and Oceania. It is a multicultural civilization with its own advanced technology.
Trevorrow first hatched it in late 2018, but kept the project under wraps to give his creative team — led by production designer Kevin Jenkins...

Part gladiatorial contest, part beauty pageant, part concert extravaganza and part continuation of the wars of the past, species far and wide compete in feats of song and dance. Those who place well are revered and those who fail face sudden extermination for their entire species. However, Earth just stumbled upon this new galaxy and, in an effort of diplomacy, decides to compete and sends Decibel Jones and the Absolute Zeroes to rep the planet as they roll the dice on their fate.
