A year and a half ago, it was announced that Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner – who both have experience working in the Scream franchise, as Fitzgerald was in the Scream TV series and Gallner appeared in the 2022 Scream movie – were set to star in the “cat and mouse thriller” Strange Darling. Now we know when we’re going to have a chance to see this movie, as Variety has confirmed that veteran producer Bob Yari’s new company Magenta Light Studios has secured the U.S. distribution rights to the film and they’re planning to give it a wide theatrical release on August 23rd.
Plot details on this thriller are being kept under wraps, and Variety notes that reviews from audience members who saw the movie at Fantastic Fest last year ” hint that the film works best with as little information as possible going in.” Apparently it has something...

"You're really bad at this, huh?" Illusion Islands has revealed the trailer for the mystery romance comedy thriller (all in one!) film titled The Private Eye, marking the featuring directorial debut of filmmaker Jack Cook. Set for release in theaters in early February, though it won't make much of an impact. Help solve the mystery... In The Private Eye, Mort Madison's life is spiraling downward, when a beguiling, slightly familiar woman hires him for his most unusual case – to spy on David, whom he believed was her lover. But he falls for her, too... The film stars Matt Rife as Mort Madison, with Clare Grant, Elliot, Denzel Whitaker, Lexy Panterra, Charles Worth, Erik Griffin, Eugenia Kuzmina, & Eric Roberts. Ooph, this is not a great trailer for a film that does not look good at all. Avoid this one and go watch The Kid Detective instead. // Continue Reading ›...

Assassin is a sci-fi thriller directed by Jesse Atlas starring Bruce Willis and Dominic Purcell.
Assassin leads us, admittedly poignantly, to the terrible conclusion that a science fiction film can be anything but pedestrian.
And this one has that terrible flaw – that it contains no new ideas other than in its initial premise.
The rest, scenes strung together are more or less well done.
Assassin Film Review
It starts out from a good idea that, carried forward with absolutely no originality, limits itself to ticking off the passing minutes and burning itself up upon the assumptions of a thriller that, scene by scene, is not bad, but lacks substance when viewed as a whole.
A film that does not want to, does not know how to – or just simply fails to – stand out and make an impact, a film shot with the lightness of a professional who performs a routine,...

Stars: Jason Bateman, Nicole Kidman, Kathryn Hahn, Christopher Walken, Marin Ireland, Harris Yulin, Eugenia Kuzmina, Michael Chernus, Josh Pais, Maryann Plunkett | Written by David Lindsay-Abaire | Directed by Jason Bateman
Performance artists. What good are they anyhow? It’s not like they put their lives on the line, or make a strong statement about anything going on in current events. It’s not like they tend to become wildly notorious for their acts, nor do they leave a mark on younger generations. But the question is, what happens to their kids? That’s what The Family Fang sets out to solve…
The second directorial feature from Jason Bateman after 2013′s Bad Words, The Family Fang sees Bateman star as Baxter Fang, the brother of Annie Fang, played by Nicole Kidman. They are affectionately called “Child A” and “Child B” by their parents Caleb and Camille, played by the one and only Christopher Walken and Maryann Plunkett.

From make outs to show-stopping dresses, Hollywood’s hottest celebs showed style at the "Rock the Kasbah" premiere in New York City Monday evening. Kate Hudson, who plays Bill Murray’s love interest in the new film, turned heads in a gold curve-hugging Balmain sheath dress with an open back and slit. The 36-year-old actress looked drop dead gorgeous, as the gown highlighted her hourglass waistline and toned body. She accentuated her look with a simple and sleek hairstyle. Lady Gaga made a bold entrance with her handsome fiancé, Taylor Kinney, in a daring red and blue patterned crocheted ensemble featuring a thigh high slit and silver hot pants. The "American Horror Story" star looked both fierce and elegant -- and we love her old Hollywood blonde curls and red lips. She added extra pops of color with hot pink stilettos and nail polish. The Mother Monster's jaw-dropping look didn’t go unnoticed,...

Infected. Seriously speaking, there must be at least 5 zillion movies with the same title. I'm to the point at which I feel like I'm writing a new story about a film with that moniker at least once a month. Here's hoping this one separates itself from the pack a bit.
Directed and written by Filip Maciejewicz (Seventy Nine] for Magic Elevator Productions, The Infected stars Bo Linton, Nina Kate, Eugenia Kuzmina, Timon Morales, Adia Dinh, Adrian Voo, Kelsey Lin, and Dillaran Martin.
Check out the trailer and early artwork below.
Synopsis
A group of seven strangers try to survive and escape from an isolated city of Los Angeles that has been infected by a strange, human changing virus.
