Jason Andrew Long was born on April 23, 1977 in a hospital. The
hospital sat on the edge of the Tennessee River in a town called
Guntersville. His Mother (Phyllis Celestia Hand) and Father (Virgil
Richard Blackmon Jr.) were two young hot lovers, who cruised around in
a red 1973 GTO "Judge." They later separated, due to fate, where they
both went on to lead very beautiful lives of their own. Jason was
raised by a village of super-intelligent beings. His step father
(Robert William Long Jr.) had an intrinsic role in the upbringing of
Jason and also instilled in the young boy an astounding work ethic and
the knowledge that we are all equal. Which, to this day is at the core
of Jason's beliefs. He is the eldest of five kids. Jason worked at many
different jobs before starting a 15 year construction career, where he
became accomplished at various blue collar skills. He never seemed to
acquire any great peace at these. As a long time student of theology,
he studied various religions, and through a leap of faith, decided to
head to Hollywood. His beginnings in Hollywood were very humble. He
lived out of his car and was able to sleep on a couch here and there.
Jason had struggled with addiction for many years before entering a
self-help program his first year there. Today he works with alcoholics
and addicts. He also loves to work with the homeless, whom he claims
are some of the wisest beings among us. Year two was a little better
for him. He was given a job at a famous, local Hollywood eatery, known
only as "Birds." There he was taught the basics of Hollywood by all the
amazing performers employed at the establishment. He says his guru was
the owner, Mary. The money he made allowed him to go take improv
classes at the world-renowned, Upright Citizens Brigade. There he felt
he had finally made it home. At the end of his first year in Hollywood,
his step-father passed, and Jason went to be with his family for
awhile. The job at Bird's eventually fell away and Jason started a
little handy-man business called "Get'r done." This worked for Jason
kept a roof over his head for a couple of years. Currently he lives
back and forth between Alabama and Hollywood. He is in the process of
forming a production company that will have a location in California
and Alabama.
