"Castle" Season 6 is still many weeks away, but news of upcoming episodes has begun to leak out. In addition to guest-star Lisa Edelstein ("House"), another guest plus an episode plot -- involving "Saved by the Bell"? -- have been revealed.
A troublesome reporter?
In episode 2 of the new season, Warren Christie will appear in the role of a reporter named Brad Parker, according to EW.com. Since Christie's character is described as being interested in uncovering scandals that might affect national security, does that mean that Beckett (Stana Katic) will be taking that new job in DC after all?
Who knows?
Christie is best known for his starring role as Cameron Hicks in the Syfy show, "Alphas." Since that program's cancellation, Hicks has also appeared in guest roles on "Arrow" and "King & Maxwell."

Warren Christie won’t need special powers for his upcoming role on Castle, but they’d probably come in handy.
Christie, who last starred as hyperkinetic Cameron Hicks on Syfy’s Alphas, is set to guest star on the second episode of Castle’s upcoming sixth season. He will play Brad Parker, a reporter with a penchant for uncovering stories that are deterimental to national security.
Christie, who was on Alphas until its cancellation in January, also recently made guest appearances on Arrow and King & Maxwell.
Castle, which will also welcome guest star Lisa Edelstein this season, returns for new episodes Sept.

Alphas has been cancelled by Syfy. The cable network has confirmed that it will not be picking up the drama for a third season. "We've been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives," Syfy said in a statement. "We'd like to thank the show's dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support." Alphas followed a team with special abilities who fought those who misused their own superhuman powers. "I think "Falling" is a real nice episode." Warren shares, "It's some of the most rewarding stuff I've gotten to do because we show such a different side to Cameron. It was interesting because it was the first time, I think, in any of the episodes in two seasons that I had no stunts and...

On Monday's "Alphas," the team believes one of their own has been taken -- but is that actually the case?
In this exclusive clip from next week's episode of the Syfy drama, Cameron Hicks (Warren Christie) chases two men with a body on a gurney. He desperately tries to rescue the kidnappee, but the identity of that person comes as a shock to him -- and it may be surprising to 'Alphas' viewers too.
Monday's episode also features a guest appearance from "NCIS" star Lauren Holly as a politician with ties to Alphas leader Dr. Lee Rosen (David Straithairn).
"Alphas" airs Monday at 10 p.m. Et on Syfy.

One of the best things about science-fiction television is that the writing crew can put together an amazing universe, and then with nothing more than a few keystrokes, turn everything inside out. That's what's happening on Season 2 of "Alphas," which continues Monday night on Syfy, and it's exactly the kind of thing actor Warren Christie says he signed up for. "One of my favorite things about last year, we spent a season setting up a real cool world, and the kind of flipped it at the end by making the Alphas public," Christie, who plays Cameron Hicks, told Airlock Alpha and other reporters during San Diego Comic-Con. "It's about that ripple effect on all of us, and that world itself. It was a great jumping off point." And that means changes in characters as well, including the very ...

Syfy’s “Powerful” Mondays return with Warehouse 13 returning with its fourth season at 9pm Et/Pt followed by one of our favorites, Alphas Season 2 premiering at 10pm. Last season’s finale left Alphas fans with a major cliffhanger as Dr. Rosen (David Strathairn) went public, announcing the existence of super-powered beings living amongst humans. Changes would certainly be expected but one that came to a surprise from a production standpoint was a change in showrunner from science fiction vet, Ira Steven Behr to Bruce Miller who was previously the executive producer on Syfy’s Eureka, and was co-excutive producer on Medium and The 4400.
Alphas struggled a bit to find its way in Season One but when it finally did, it captured a real-world approach at super-powered beings existing in our world on television that resonated. The change in showrunner certainly caused some concern from a viewer’s perspective but surprisingly,...

This is great news. If you watched Syfy‘s Alphas during its inaugural season last summer, you likely enjoyed the treat that was Summer Glau in a terrific part, as an Alpha whose ability was to construct incredibly complex pieces of technology. It was a geeky part, and she played it with absolute style and grace.
Happily, Syfy has announced that she’ll be reprising that part for three episodes in the second season of the show, which premieres on Monday, July 23 at 10/9c. (Don’t worry, Lost Girl fans, your show is not going away, it’s just moving down the block to Fridays.)
Joining the lovely and talented Ms. Glau are a hobbit, a former NCIS director, and a lieutenant with the colonial forces, amongst others. Check out this great lineup:

Syfy has announced its plans for Comic-Con 2012, and they are (nearly) all about their massive promotional plans for 2013 series and Mmo game Defiance. Yes there will be a panel, but it’s the ad campaign that’s so vast. Check out the plans in their press release below.
Panels have also been planned for Warehouse 13 and Alphas, but sadly and somewhat inexplicably, not for Haven (though the cast and writers will be appearing at a couple of offsite events) nor any of their unscripted shows. The cast and showrunner for Eureka will be at a Paley panel in Los Angeles tonight, but though the series finale doesn’t air until the day after Comic-Con closes, there won’t be any final Eureka panel at Comic-Con.

Alphas, from Michael Karnow and comic book movie veteran Zak Penn (X-Men 2, Elektra, The Incredible Hulk), is a relatively realistic show about people with superpowers, though given this description, it’s less gritty (at least initially) than you might expect. It’s not like Jason Bourne with superpowers (or Battlestar Galactica, despite the presence of Callum Keith Rennie). And the realism doesn’t stop the show from having some cool special effects.
It’s broadly similar to Warehouse 13 (another SyFy show also scored by Edward Rogers) in tone and visual style, though Alphas’ pilot is better. Since Warehouse 13 was relatively slow to start, but got really good in the second half of Season 1, then hopefully Alphas could be even better, if it shows the same level of improvement. The characters aren’t as good as in Warehouse 13, though it’s early days yet, though most of them are quite good,...

Alphas' Cameron Hicks (Warren Christie) and Nina Theroux (Laura Mennell) have agreed to cool down their burgeoning romance. Actually doing so, though, may be easier said than done.

"They both came to a realization that maybe stepping back was the best way to go for right now," Christie tells TVGuide.com. "But those feelings are underlying — they are always going to be there. We'll see them pop in and out as things go along."
The duo will perhaps have to fight those feelings in Monday's episode (10/9c, Syfy) when Hicks and Nina go undercover to investigate an obstetrician (guest star Brent Spiner), who is conducting a medical experiment that could be detrimental to all future Alphas, perhaps at the behest of Red Flag. That forces the team to bring an Alpha back to their offices, where all hell breaks loose, thanks to Lost's Rebecca Mader,...

In an interview with Warren Christie, the Alphas star would scarcely reveal anything about his character, Cameron Hicks, and any potential romance with Laura Mennell's Nina.
Therefore, like a child turning to one parent after the first gave us the wrong answer, we were forced to pose the same question to Mennell.
"There have been hints out there that something might happen," the actress said her a relationship between Cameron and Nina.
Fortunately, we like Alphas a lot - especially after this week's episode - and look forward to finding out the truth by simply watching every Monday night.

By the end of this week's Alphas, Cameron Hicks appeared to have settled in to place with the unit.
But Warren Christie says his character will continue to be hesitant about his role, seeing as he "wasn't exactly nicely asked to join the group" on the pilot.
"I've always thought he craved being a part of a team," Christie told me. "But he's gone through such failure in the past. This isn't something he easily slips into."
The relationship between Rosen and Cameron will continue to evolve, as well, with the former "trying to help" the latter feel comfortable.
"Still, that doesn't mean he just jumps in with both feet," Christie said. "He still asks questions... he's not sure where everything fits. There are so many grey areas and that's what drew me to the role."
The actor saw immediate growth potential in this character, not just from an ability standpoint,...

"Still, that doesn't mean he just jumps in with both feet," Christie said. "He still asks questions... he's not sure where everything fits. There are so many grey areas and that's what drew me to the role."
The actor saw immediate growth potential in this character, not just from an ability standpoint,...

We've heard it before from every new sci-fi series that's tried to ground the superhero concept: ordinary people with extraordinary yadda yadda blah blah snooze snore. Syfy's Alphas is the latest show to take this route, pulling together a group of regular folk who are completely normal.except for the fact that they have superpowers enhanced abilities. And who are, for the most part, extremely attractive.

Chicago – SyFy’s “Alphas” might have been a reasonable excuse for summer entertainment five years ago but we’ve seen too many shows like it in the last few to give this disappointment a pass. Remember the later seasons of “Heroes”? “Alphas” gives off that vibe with its uninteresting characters, goofy dialogue, and lackluster storytelling. A strong central performance anchors the show enough so it doesn’t completely annoy but this program just isn’t interesting enough to find a wide audience.

Nothing has taken...

This past Thursday, I represented Airlock Alpha on a media conference call with Zak Penn and Warren Christie from Syfy.s new show .Alphas.. These guys were so friendly and such kidders that I feel comfortable using first names. (That.s hard for me as a southern girl who was taught you never assume you can use the first name of an adult. You must wait till that adult gives you permission.) Zak is the co-creator of the show with Michael Karnow, and Warren plays reluctant Alphas team member Cameron Hicks. Zak is a fanboy. He knows his stuff and that bodes well for this new show. As he commented, .Alphas. takes a well-known genre and puts a new spin on it. I.ve seen the pilot episode that ...
