Our series continues with a special installment that compares not just one but Two remakes to a classic original. This week, Cinelinx goes ape and looks at all three versions of King Kong.
King Kong was created in 1933 by Universal Pictures and was the prototype for the Kaiju genre, years before Godzilla ever stomped on Tokyo. The image of Kong atop the Empire State Building is one of the most iconic images in the history of film and pop culture. The first film led to a sequel (the Son of Kong), an animated series, lots of rip-offs (Mighty Joe Young, Konga, A*P*E, the Mighty Peking Man) and years later inspired a pair of remakes (Not counting the campy Kaiju films King Kong vs. Godzilla and King Kong Escapes.) After all these years, Kong remains one of the greatest giant movie monsters of all time. Let’s take a...

Looking ahead to the Fall 2015 season, Ryan Murphy has big plans for his hit television series “American Horror Story: Hotel,” including a returning cast member- second season’s Chloe Sevigny!
The “Glee” mastermind took to his Twitter account to announce, “Very excited to announce that Chloe Sevigny returns to the Ahs family as a series regular on ‘Ahs: Hotel,’” following previous updates that include additions like Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley and Cheyenne Jackson.
Unfortunately, favorite fixture Jessica Lang announced earlier this month that she will be wrapping things up with the current season “American Horror Story: Asylum.” "Yes, I'm done. We've had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I've had the opportunity to play. In all the madness, I've loved the writers, my actors, Ryan and the whole, I mean, insanity of it, shooting here, shooting in New Orleans, the stories,...

We talk to one of the stars of The Gambler, Brie Larson, about Greek mythology, Short Term 12 and Rampart...
Actress and singer Brie Larson first made her mark on television, and has since appeared in such films as 21 Jump Street, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World and Rampart. She really made her mark with Short Term 12, the 2013 drama in which she starred as Grace, a supervisor in a home for troubled teenagers. It was a sensitive, thoughtful performance, and like the film itself, widely acclaimed and nominated for numerous independent film awards.
Larson’s latest film is The Gambler, a drama starring Mark Wahlberg as a well-to-do college professor with a tendency to lose money in various gambling dens. Larson plays Amy, a gifted English student who’s uniquely aware of her teacher’s insidious addiction. Although The Gambler’s very much Wahlberg’s film, Larson again brings intelligence to her role here.

American Horror Story: Freak Show did so well with its premiere that FX has decided renew the horror anthology series for a fifth season! Freak Show set the record for the most watched show in FX history with 10 million total viewers. What's so cool about this series is that every new season does better than the last.
Creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will be back to come up with a new setting and story that will be told over the course of 13-episodes. No casting has been announced yet, but I assume that it will include the usual suspects that is led by Jessica Lang.
In a statement, FX CEO John Landgraf said,
"The American Horror Story anthology has had the highest growth trajectory of any show in FX history, not to mention an unprecedented track record of success in awards recognition. With Ryan Murphy and his partners, Brad Falchuk,...

★★☆☆☆Longing, passion and an illicit love affair should be ripe material for any romping period drama. Sadly, actor-turned-director Charlie Stratton's adaptation of Neal Bell's play, In Secret (2013) - which is in turn based upon Émile Zola's 1867 novel Thérèse Raquin - is a tonally perplexing disappointment that fails to truly wrestle with the themes provided. Production designer Uli Hanisch's sets plunge us into a rather dank 19th century France - with an overly robust enthusiasm for greys - and it's in this world that we meet Thérèse (Elizabeth Olsen, also seen in Godzilla this week). Born out of wedlock, Thérèse is shipped off to live with her seemingly kind, but more accurately conniving aunt, Madame Raquin (Jessica Lang).

Earlier this year, it was announced that the star of The Shield, Michael Chiklis, was going to join the cast of American Horror Story: Freak Show. Up until this point, all we knew about the show was that it will be set in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950. Jessica Lang will play a German ex-Pat managing one of the last remaining freak shows in the country. It was also revealed that Sarah Paulson is taking the the part of a two headed woman named Bette and Dot. As for Chiklis, it was originally revealed that he will be playing the father of Evan Peter's character, and the ex-husband of Kathy Bates' character. Thanks to TV Line, we have a little more information for you about his character.
Creator Ryan Murphy told the site that the actor will be playing "a strong man who’s married to Angela Bassett['s character. He has scenes with Angela and Jessica Lange and [onscreen ex] Kathy Bates. I...

American Horror Story: Freak Show is the fourth season of the Ryan Murphy created series, and it's currently in production. This season is set in the 1950s and follows a one of the last remaining freak shows in the country. Series star Sarah Paulson has revealed the characters that she will be portraying this time around.
As you can see in the photo she will be playing a two headed woman. One of the characters is named Bette and the other is Dot. It's so hard to predict what this next season will entail and what is in store for her character. Anything can happen with this series. It's so damn erratic, which is why I love it so much. One of the few things we do know is that Jessica Lang will be playing a German expat, who will be managing the freak show. I've also heard rumors of a killer clown.

American Horror Story: Coven has turned out to be yet another incredibly fantastic season! The fourth season is on its way, and co-creator Ryan Murphy has already started plotting what he plans on doing with it. There's not a lot of information on what it will deal with, but in a recent interview with EW he says that it will be set in the 1950s, and that Jessica Lang will have a German accent. Here's what he had to say,
“If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there’s some more clues in that year. It’s a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we’ve done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I’m very excited!”
Germans in the 50s? The first thing to pop in my head when I read this was Nazi's. Runaway Nazi's and UFO's?...
