We are still dealing with the incredibly disappointing news that CBS has decided to cancel Blue Bloods for Season 14. Add to that the fact that the network has renewed another police procedural, S.W.A.T., after already announcing its cancellation, and the move seems completely unfair.
But unfortunately, the CBS execs are not even influenced by the pleas and demands of the cast and crew, as well as the viewers themselves, whose petition to save the show on Change.org has already gathered over 17,000 signatures.
Nevertheless, all this shows how much the audience's interest in the show has not waned, almost 14 years after its debut in 2010. But we should prepare ourselves for the fact that the story of the Irish Catholic Reagan family, long involved in law enforcement in New York City, will come to an end this December.
The main appeal of Blue Bloods is far from police investigations and ethical debates.

Exclusive: The upcoming 14th season of CBS’ venerable cop family drama Blue Bloods will be its last. The popular series starring Tom Selleck is getting an extended farewell with a two-part final season which will consist of 18 episodes, Deadline has learned. The first 10 will air this coming midseason, premiering on CBS Feb. 16 and streaming live on Paramount+; the remaining 8 will run in fall 2024.
Coming off a double Hollywood strike that reduced the sizes of the 2023-24 scripted seasons to 10-13 episodes each — with a number of CBS shows only doing 10 — the network is giving two of its top series that are coming to an end, Blue Bloods and Young Sheldon, a proper sendoff with expanded final seasons. As Deadline reported last week, the Big Bang Theory prequel’s seventh and final season will be comprised of 14 episodes.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Blue Bloods Season 13 finale “Forgive Us Our Trespasses.”] It’s a full Reagan family dinner table at the end of the Blue Bloods Season 13 finale, though plans do change from what originally brings Nicky (Sami Gayle) and Jack Reagan (Tony Terraciano) back. Still, Frank (Tom Selleck) makes it known (twice!) how much he loves having everyone there. See, the two were in town for what they thought would be Erin’s (Bridget Moynahan) announcement that she was officially running for Manhattan Da. However, after finding out that an offender who was supposed to be in a program following the assault of a woman attacked again and getting hounded by the press, it quickly becomes clear that what she wanted isn’t what she wants. After the election, she’ll be too busy wining and dining, giving speeches at press conferences, and lobbying politicians to deal with victims, Anthony (Steven Schirripa) points out.

It's been a long wait, but Blue Bloods Season 12 premieres in less than a month.
CBS has now dropped a batch of photos for Blue Bloods Season 12 Episode 1, titled "Hate Is Hate," and it teases a lot of pivotal scenes ahead for fans of the beloved procedural.
The good news is that the photos tease the Reagan family dinners we've come to expect from the series.
It's nice to know that, in the midst of so many changes in the world, they still put everything aside to come to dinner in the name of connecting with one another.
So, we can expected the family to sip on fine wine, eat good food, and crack some wild jokes, which might be some much-needed respite from the darkness infused throughout the rest of the season premiere.

Led by Tom Selleck, Blue Bloods is an excellent ensemble series that does a near perfect job of balancing the grit of the cop genre with family drama by following a family grounded in a history of law enforcement in New York City. The series features Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Amy Carlson, Tony Terraciano, Andrew Terraciano, Nicholas Turturro, Sami Gayle, Jennifer Esposito, and Abigail Hawk. The series has shades of NYPD Blue mixed with some elements of Law & Order and focuses on the Reagan family. It also makes the city a character just as important as any of the Reagans. Selleck plays the family head Frank Reagan . who is also the head...
