The Phantasm family is back together again for the new brand new music video “Cheyenne,” which comes courtesy of Phantasm star Bill Thornbury and his band Remington Ridge.
Bill Thornbury played Jody in the original horror classic from 1979, a role he reprised for Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead, Phantasm IV: Oblivion, and Phantasm: Ravager.
Of particular note for Phantasm fans, the music video for “Cheyenne” was directed by franchise creator Don Coscarelli and David Hartman, who directed Phantasm: Ravager.
Coscarelli tweets this afternoon, “Many people might remember Bill’s absolute banger of a song from the original Phantasm that he wrote and performed with Reggie Bannister in our film Phantasm… ‘Sitting’ Here At Midnight’! ‘Cheyenne’ is an emotional, rootsy country ballad, telling tales of lost love and fading sunset dreams.”
“It was great to get the Phantasm family back together to make this video,” Coscarelli adds. “The talented David...

The extended lock-downs of the last two years affected families in various ways, one of which was “forcing” them to spend more time together than ever. Thus, it was just a matter of time before filmmakers decided to cast their children in their movies, with the non-stop artist that is Khavn probably being the safest bet. Luckily for him, it seems his household have nurtured at least two future stars, with his son Katch23 as Gunam-gunam, and his daughter, who is playfully nicknamed 1Delacruz, as Guni-guni, being more than worthy protagonists of his latest short.
“Gunam-gunam X Guni-guni Rumi X Phantasm” is screening on International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, and is also available through the This Is Short Platform
The script is adapted from the book “Supporting Materials for Teaching the Filipino Language”, written by Khavn’s mother, Kelly Clarinda (a former elementary teacher), with her also functioning as the narrator of the film,...

Almost as soon as the news broke that Michael Keaton had entered talks to play Bruce Wayne for the first time in nearly 30 years in The Flash, thoughts seemed to immediately move past the Scarlet Speedster’s long-gestating solo movie and onto the possibility of fans finally getting the live-action Batman Beyond that they’ve been desperate to see for years.
The acclaimed animated series was once set for the big screen treatment at the turn of the millennium following the unanimous sense of disappointment that greeted Batman & Robin, but after the project fell apart it was rarely spoken of again. However, it can’t be just a coincidence that earlier this year talk was swirling once more of Warner Bros. mounting Batman Beyond with Keaton’s involvement and then months later, he’s negotiating for a return to the world of DC movies.

For a lot of us it might seem that Phantasm, one of the more interesting villains that Batman has ever gone against, was something left back in the 1993 animated movie. But according to Cooper Hood of ScreenRant the mysterious villain will be making a return to the Batman comics in 2020 to supposedly close out the Batman arc. So far it’s not certain if the Phantasm is going to be the same person underneath the mask, as some folks might be expecting Andrea Beaumont to be making a return into Batman’s life, but at this point it seems as

It’ll be interesting to see how the character ends up being utilized in the story for the comic series. It will be interesting if the background they go with for Phantasm matches up with what was presented in the 1993 animated film.

Exclusive: Flay, the feature film that Sony claimed was a rip off of its own Slender Man, is set to finally be released after independent production company Phame Factory and the Hollywood studio resolved their differences.
Last year, Sony served the indie with a cease-and-desist order to stop the release of Flay as it claimed that it was a rip-off of the Slender Man character, which it had the exclusive rights to.
However, Phame Factory filed a lawsuit in July seeking a judgement that its promotion and distribution of Flay didn’t infringe Sony’s copyrights. It has now won the right to release the film and has reached an agreement with Sony, albeit with a disclaimer on advertising materials, trailers and the movie itself.
The film, which is written and produced by Eric Pham, tells the story of a young woman who goes up against a malevolent faceless spirit.

Inspired by (although not as nutty as) the "Batman: Year Two" comic book storyline (Detective Comics #575-578), Mask of the Phantasm tells the story of Batman's first confrontation with the Phantasm, an anti-hero who isn't as restricted by a code of conduct as the Dark Knight. In fact, the Phantasm is more than happy to murder mob bosses to get them off the streets. When the Phantasm arrives in Gotham and unleashes...

He brought the imaginative worlds of Phantasm and Bubba Ho-Tep to life on the big screen, but for filmmaker Don Coscarelli, the behind-the-scenes making of his movies is just as enthralling as the fictional worlds he created.
