Erik Tallek
- Cinematographer
- Producer
- Writer
Erik Tallek has been doing photography ever since he could remember.
There was always something that captured his attention about
eternalizing a moment in life through a photo. It wasn't until his
early adulthood that he decided to attend Film school. He claims to
have no formal training, because Film school was undisciplined,
restrictive, and anarchy. He discovered the best way to learn was to
get out there and simply do it. After graduating he experimented in
Music Videos and Documentaries. Bothe allowed him to explore the very
basics of Cinematography and make them his own. It was then he realized
quickly that his long time philosophy hadn't changed but rather it
evolved. He was now interested in capturing a moment of a story through
motion imaging. After a few experimental short films, he found himself
the Director of Photography of 'In the Hearts of Men' (2011). While
being the DoP on 'In the Hearts of Men' Erik felt himself truly
transform from a Cinematographer in to a Director of Photography. From
then on his films reflect that quality and authenticity of his evolved
philosophy.
