12 years ago, the world saw the last episode of ABC’s iconic dramedy series, the mysterious Desperate Housewives, which concluded after 8 seasons and made big stars of its actors. The main show’s housewife was obviously Susan Mayer, the notoriously clumsy “girl next door”, always ending up in trouble and, of course, in love.
However, since 2012 there has been little news regarding the Susan actress, Teri Hatcher, who has really laid low since the finale of Desperate Housewives. In fact, Hatcher did participate in a number of the titles that truly deserve our attention.
Not Just Desperate Housewives
Her first recurring live-action role since Dh was the one in the sitcom The Odd Couple (2015 - 2017), where she played Charlotte, a love interest of Matthew Perry’s Oscar. This series continued the trend of her career, as her character, a single mother in her 40s, was really reminiscent of Susan Mayer there.

Henry Selick's 2009 film "Coraline" was unique in the history of animation in that it was the first stop-motion feature to use 3-D printers to construct its maquettes. For Selick's 1993 hit "The Nightmare Before Christmas," each character's individual face had to be hand-sculpted separately, requiring boxes and boxes of various Jack Skellington heads. 3-D printing for "Coraline" sped up the process and allowed the animators a wider variety of faces for the titular bratty girl and the terrifying adults in her life.
The story of "Coraline" was taken from Neil Gaiman's 2002 children's horror novel, itself heavily cribbing from Clive Barker's 1992 novel "The Thief of Always." In the film, Coraline (Dakota Fanning) moves with her parents to a remote house out in the middle of the woods. Coraline makes no mystery of how much she hates the move, how...

Christian Slater’s Dr. Dorian Brauer aka the villainous ogre Mulgarath is positively “starving” for, well, humans in a first teaser trailer for The Spiderwick Chronicles, which will premiere all eight episodes Friday, April 19 on Roku.
Based on the series of children’s books by Tony Diterlizzi and Holly Black, The Spiderwick Chronicles “follows the coming-of-age story of the Grace Family as they move from New York to Michigan and into their family’s ancestral home,” according to the official logline. “Upon arrival, the family not only uncovers mysteries hidden inside their great grandfather’s Spiderwick Estate, but also discovers a secret,...

Actor Charlize Theron got her first major film role when she was just 19-years-old. But she credited her own naivete as a youth for nabbing her the breakthrough feature.

Apart from her ability, Theron had a good amount of luck on her side when she was cast in 2 Days in the Valley. But fortune didn’t always smile down on the Oscar-winner. Before acting, Theron pursued a modeling career. In the end, however, she felt she was too tall to succeed in the industry.
“I was too tall, too big, too late for the supermodel look of the 80s. Kate Moss and all the tiny, grungy girls had just become fashionable, and I didn’t fit the bill,.” she once told HuffPost.

Sarah Jessica Parker already knew what it was like starring in a hit show with Sex and the City. But the actor considered the show fortunate it didn’t air at the same time another popular show did. Parker believed that her HBO series wouldn’t have stood a chance against it.
Sarah Jessica Parker felt ‘Sex and the City’ would’ve been squashed by ‘Desperate Housewives’ Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria and Marcia Cross | Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic
Parker felt there wasn’t much of a competition between Sex and the City and Desperate Housewives. On the surface level, the two shows seemed to have quite a bit in common. They both focused on a cast of women and their day-to-day lives as they dealt with friendships, dating, families and careers. But they had stark differences as well.

Desperate Housewives delivered no shortage of drama, both on and off the screen. The soapy ABC series was known both for its juicy plotlines and feuds among the cast. The on-set tension even extended to those who weren’t in front of the camera, according to writer Patty Lin, who worked on the show in its first season.
‘Desperate Housewives’ writer can’t understand why the show was so popular ‘Desperate Housewives’ | ABC/Peter “Hopper” Stone
Lin was a seasoned television writer who’d previously worked on Freaks and Geeks and Friends when she landed a job on the “darkly funny” Desperate Housewives in the spring of 2004. Hollywood was buzzing about the show, which had been created by Marc Cherry. Lin accepted the gig without a second thought, despite some early “warning signs,” she recalls in her new memoir, End Credits: How I Broke Up With Hollywood.

The Daniel Craig era of James Bond movies started strong with Martin Campbell's "Casino Royale" in 2006. Audiences reacted incredibly well to the gruffer, more brutal version of the character, as he fit handily into the world's post-9/11 political hopelessness. A dandyish cartoon James Bond did not fit into the zeitgeist of the '00s, and the character became Dionysian and brutish rather than Apollonian and refined.
The Craig Bond films also introduced a novel concept into the franchise: each film was a direct sequel of the one that preceded it. Ordinarily, Bond films stood on their own, not requiring much knowledge of the films that came before. Now, bad guys could be set up in one picture only to pay off in a later chapter.
Sam Mendes' 2015 film "Spectre" was a prime example of this. Throughout the preceding three movies, James Bond discovered increasingly suspicious clues that a massive...

“I’m gonna be judged! I’m an actor. We don’t like that!” These are the amusing first words of Golden Globe-winning acting legend John Lithgow when he appeared on Celebrity Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off back in 2019.
And he’s got a point. Because, aside from the fact most Hollywood stars have a packed schedule, an over-protective agent and about 356 daily requests to do something for one charity or another, they also have famously fragile egos after years in the spotlight.
And let’s face it: even their most scathing one-star review has nothing on Paul Hollywood taking one beady-blue-eyed look at their lovingly crafted gingerbread diorama of Westminster Abbey, before saying “You want me to eat that? When those fondant buttresses aren’t even to scale? I wouldn’t serve it in prison!” and smashing it to pieces beneath his giant well-tanned fists. (We may have...

Brett Goldstein is keeping his early stand-up under wraps for good reason.
The “Ted Lasso” star teased that his comedy from years ago is kept under lock and key and essentially wiped from the Internet amid modern cancel culture.
“I made a series of decisions that, further down the road, turned out to be the wrong ones, which have haunted me,” Goldstein told GQ UK. “I did shows before anyone knew who I was and I didn’t think ahead in terms of…I was just making the thing that was right at the time.”
The “Thor: Love and Thunder” actor added, “But they’re all things that are often about truth and about real people and I can’t just have them on the Internet. I’m very proud of them, but unfortunately, I can never show them.”

“Arthur remembers it being a 125 pages. I remember reading a 50-page treatment,” said Barbra Streisand. Regardless of how many pages of a synopsis, or an outline or a so-called “treatment,” that Arthur Laurents had written, Streisand wanted those pages, titled “The Way We Were.” Better yet, she wanted them now. “I fell in love with it!” she gushed.
More important, Streisand put her enthusiasm into the only words that count in Hollywood. “I want this to be my next movie,” she told the producer Ray Stark. Stark had produced “Funny Girl” on Broadway and also brought it to the screen, with Streisand reprising the role of Fanny Brice, who happened to be the producer’s mother-in-law. The New York theater had long been home to Jewish artists who refused to hide their heritage. The movies, not so much. Streisand in the movie “Funny Girl” was historic, a Jewish actress playing a proudly Jewish character.

Happy sigh. Familiar faces, long walks on the beach, drinks with umbrellas, poetry, a death-defying game show. Fantasy Island Season 2 Episode 3 is a romantic, funny, and satisfying do-over for our Susan Mayer and Mike Delfino.
Of course, they aren't Susan and Mike here. But that doesn't stop our collective hearts from conflating the two relationships and giving the tragic Wisteria Lane couple a happily ever after, after all.
Meanwhile, the tables get turned -- hell, they're totally upended -- when Ruby tries to connect with Helene as a twenty-something only to have Helene call her on her seventy-five-year-old sensibilities. Also: Mermaid Sighting.
Nostalgia is such a quirky thing. Hatcher and Denton portrayed a couple who lived, loved, committed crimes, and married each other twice in the span of eight seasons, only to end in murder and mourning.
The Paymers, in contrast, married at eighteen after a whirlwind courtship and raised...
