Johnny Depp has acted and aced the many roles he has essayed throughout his career. But Captain Jack Sparrow will remain beloved by his and his fans for the way he molded and shaped it from the ground up. Thus, kickstarting the entire Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the actor is as much to be credited as the writers and crew for the success of the movies.

Yet, after his legal battle with Amber Heard and Disney turning back on him, the actor seems to be done with Hollywood. And producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed that as much as he would love to have him back, Disney is planning to make two movies with one of them being helmed by Margot Robbie.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, “Pirates of the Caribbean” producer Jerry Bruckheimer seemingly confirmed a couple of things. Firstly, it sounds like Johnny Depp is not returning for “Pirates of the Caribbean,” even if Bruckheimer wants it. Secondly, it seems Disney may indeed move forward with Margo Robbie’s film as well.
We also learned that Jeff Nathanson, who wrote the last “Pirates of the Caribbean” film in 2017 is writing the reboot. At this point the third act is great but the first and second act need more work.
He told EW, “I think he’s cracked it,” Bruckheimer remarks. “He’s got an amazing third act. We just gotta clean up the first and second and then we’ll get there. But he wrote a great, great third act.”
The script is in play, but does that mean Johnny Depp will return?
Bruckheimer makes it sound unlikely.

There have been hot and cold reports about the future of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise over the past few years. Some had a reboot happening with an entirely new cast, others a female-centric film with Margot Robbie. Now, Jerry Bruckheimer is setting the record straight.
“It’s two different movies,” Bruckheimer says. The reboot has Jeff Nathanson doing the script with the Robbie-centric film being written by Christina Hodson, according to Entertainment Weekly, which caught up with the producer. “We hope to get ’em both made, and I think Disney agrees they really want to make the Margot one, too.”
The Last of Us creator Craig Mazin worked on a story for the reboot with original screenwriter Ted Elliot. Mazin told the L.A. Times that their script was very weird and that Disney seemed to like it. But the project stalled because of the strikes last year.

“Pirates of the Caribbean” producer Jerry Bruckheimer has provided more clarity on the current state of the Disney adventure franchise. He already teased in March that a total reboot was going to be the first “Pirates” movie out of the gate in the future because “it’s easier to put together because you don’t have to wait for certain actors.” This reboot is now confirmed to have writer Jeff Nathanson attached. Bruckheimer announced the news in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Nathanson also wrote the screenplay for the last “Pirates” movie, 2017’s “Dead Men Tell No Tales,” which was directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. Rønning and Nathanson, as well as Bruckheimer, have reunited on the new Disney biographical drama “Young Woman and the Sea.”

Johnny Depp has played a number of iconic characters in his career, but none left a mark as strongly as Captain Jack Sparrow did. Such was his popularity, that the actor became the face of the Pirate of the Caribbean franchise. It spawned several sequels, and Depp appeared in all of them, cementing Jack Sparrow’s legacy.
While Sparrow might be a drunk pirate, he sure knows how to spread happiness. At least, that is what Depp does to help children who are suffering from terminal illnesses.

Throughout his decades-long career, Johnny Depp has portrayed numerous iconic characters on-screen, one of the most popular being Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Starting with the 2003 film The Curse of the Black Pearl, he has since reprised his role in four subsequent installments until his departure from the franchise.

The Doctor is back in every sense of the word.
During Doctor Who's classic run, the Doctor often approached new adventures with child-like curiosity. But the 2005 reboot offered a darker, more depressed Doctor who had become worn down by the Time War and the companions he couldn't save.
Not anymore. Disney+ has just released a new trailer for Doctor Who Season 14, and it suggests that Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor will be a larger-than-life character who approaches life with confidence and a sense of fun.
The Christmas special already introduced the newer, more lighthearted version of the Doctor, including him and Ruby Sunday singing a show tune to distract some evil goblins that wanted to eat Ruby's new foster sister.
It was campy as hell, but that was what Doctor Who needed. Season 14 will pick up where the special left off and combine humor and fun with more serious undertones.

Wahey, it’s Christmas. Time to celebrate by ranking television designed to air when everyone is drunk or angry or asleep or all three. This is exactly what Jesus would have wanted.
The Doctor Who Festive Specials have been part of the BBC’s Christmas and New Year’s Day line-up since 2005 – times when there’s something of a captive audience who might not normally watch the show. Unlike the 1965 Christmas Day episode, the hope is that they’ll attract a broader audience. Some episodes are more forgiving for casual viewers than others. Some episodes will garner the ultimate praise from your father-in-law: complete silence for the duration followed by ‘That was rather good’. Some episodes make absolutely no sense to anyone who only watches at Christmas.
Including Chris Chibnall’s three New Year specials (but not ‘Spyfall’ because it’s a series opener rather than a one-off special episode) brings us to 17 stories,...

The only thing more extra than a surprise birthday party might be a surprise birthday party live on cable TV – and that’s what Chris Cuomo got to celebrate his 53rd.
“Cuomo” was setting up to take viewer phone calls on Wednesday night when producer Alexandra “Dusty” Cohen stopped the host cold:
“You’ve got to listen to me – this is important. It’s your birthday, and we’re not taking calls. You’re just gonna listen to me and be quiet,” she said, basically asking the impossible of the talkative NewsNation anchor. “We put something together for you because we love you. I love you. A lot of people love you. … Be quiet and take a look.”
The first face onscreen belonged to Bill O’Reilly, Cuomo’s longtime friend – and one of the former CNN anchor’s many close media pals with whom he doesn’t share political views.

Johnny Depp added another iconic character to his long list of films with Pirates of the Caribbean’s Jack Sparrow. But to make sure the character would come to life the way he envisioned, he screened it for his kids first.

Depp had many inspirations that informed his peculiar Jack Sparrow character in his Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. His instincts even went against the studio’s vision for the role. Speaking to Collider, Depp revealed Disney’s original plan for Jack Sparrow clashed with his own.

Ah, Ready Steady Cook – you were a product of simpler times. The BBC’s teatime TV cooking show saw two contestants bring along a bag of ingredients, team up with a celebrity chef, (becoming Team Green Pepper and Team Red Tomato) and spend 20 minutes transforming what they’d brought into a tasty dinner.
They only had a maximum budget of £5 (which these days would probably only stretch to half a cucumber and a pot noodle) so the dishes weren’t fancy – none of this nonsense about serving some daft gravy-with-notions and calling it a ‘jus’. No, the likes of Ainsley Harriott or Anthony Worrall Thompson usually just hastily assembled a lasagne, and then the audience voted for a winner – and by ‘vote’, we mean they lifted up a picture of a green pepper or a red tomato.

Captain Jack is back!
The original Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland has reopened to throngs of enthusiastic fans — and a few technical hiccups.
The ride, which debuted in 1967, was closed for refurbishment on March 14 and was originally scheduled to reopen in “summer 2022,” and then July 1. Accordingly, Disneyland dropped the rope today and fans were there en masse to experience the revamp.
First impressions are that little has changed beyond maybe some sound improvements and a bit of cleanup. That’s notable since the attraction’s main attraction, Johnny Depp in the form of Captain Jack Sparrow, has been through a few things during the closure. Questions have swirled about Depp’s future as a franchise star and, while the jury is still out on another Pirates film — or whether he’d even want to do one — Disney could have easily taken this opportunity to excise the star from the classic ride,...
