Written by Linda Videtti Figueiredo (Fuller House), Hope Café is inspired by Hope For the Day’s Sip of Hope in Chicago, the world’s first coffee shop where “It’s Ok Not to Be Ok” and 100% of the profits go to mental health education.
In the series, the friendships, lives and loves of the workers and customers are all intertwined at the Hope Café, a coffee shop where the baristas are also trained as mental health counselors. Think Freud, with tattoos and a frother.

Exclusive: The cast, crew and producers of Mayim Bialik and Jim Parsons’ new Fox comedy series Call Me Kat, set in Louisville, Ky, have joined together to make a donation to the city’s Community Bail Fund to help those arrested in recent protests.
Protests over the deaths of Breonna Taylor, who lived in Louisville and was shot and killed by police executing a no-knock search warrant at her home, and George Floyd are entering their 23rd day in the city and have resulted in multiple arrests.
Louisville is the hometown of the show’s writer Darlene Hunt.
“I set our upcoming Fox series in Louisville to honor my hometown,” said Hunt. “But in light of current events, supporting the Louisville Community Bail Fund seemed like an important way to not only honor my hometown but to also hopefully promote positive change.”
Added Bialik: “Because our show is set in...

Fox has ordered the Mayim Bialik-led comedy “Call Me Kat” to series. The half-hour, multicamera show — which previously had a series commitment from the network and was set to film its pilot before production shutdown — will premiere at midseason.
“Call Me Kat,” based on a BBC U.K. series called “Miranda,” stars the “Big Bang Theory” alum as Kat, “a 39-year-old woman who struggles every day against society and her mother to prove that you can Not have everything you want — and still be happy,” according to its logline. “Which is why she spent her life savings to open a Cat Café in Louisville, Kentucky.”
Along with Bialik, the comedy’s cast includes Swoosie Kurtz as Sheila, Kyla Pratt as Randi, Cheyenne Jackson as Max and Leslie Jordan as Phil.
