Werewolf bikers, one might think they would be fairly common in movies, but apart from Hellhounds I can only think of a couple. There’s 1971’s Werewolves on Wheels, which has more to do with Satanists than lycanthropes and more recently High Moon, where a gang of old west werewolves find themselves in the present and saddle up on more modern iron horses. There’s also Bikers vs Werewolves being promised for later this year, but that’s it.
Hellhounds gets off to a start, or should I say starts, that are all over the place. We’re introduced to three separate sets of characters with no clue as to what the connection is. A woman chased down and abducted somewhere in the desert. A member of the Hellhounds biker gang tracked down by a bounty hunter,...

Mutilator 2, writer/director Buddy Cooper’s long-awaited follow-up to his 1984 slasher The Mutilator (pick up a copy Here), is ready to make its way out into the world. The movie even screened at Joe Bob Briggs’ latest drive-in Jamboree event back in October, and received an “audience favorite” award there. And yet it still hasn’t secured a distribution deal. Cooper confirmed this on Facebook, where he wrote, “We are still searching for distribution. It might help if a few fans asked their favorite streaming service or theater when they would be showing Mutilator 2. If enough people show an interest, I feel like a distributor would be willing to help get it out to everyone.“
The fact that Shudder hasn’t swooped in to release this as a Shudder Original is shocking, given that they’ve not only had The Mutilator on their streaming service, but even had...

In 2021, Eva Hamilton – whose acting credits include roles in Death Kiss and the upcoming Mutilator 2 – co-founded a production company called The Mooncats, with Stacey Nelkin of Halloween III: Season of the Witch on board as a creative executive. The first project to come from The Mooncats is the short horror film The Shed, and the company reports that they have signed a non-exclusive distribution deal with Cinedigm! As part of this deal, The Shed will be featured in the next season of Bloody Bites, a collection of horror shorts that are released through the Screambox streaming service.
Described as “a grounded, anchored and suspenseful tribute to the 35mm Horror Films of the late 1970s and early 1980s”, The Shed stars Hamilton and Nelkin. The story of the 22 minute short follows Whitney, a struggling escort, as she mitigates the emotional and financial toll of Adult Service work. After seeing an...

When a filmmaker takes on a story based on the crimes committed by a real serial killer, they have to walk a fine line. If they cross that line, it can feel disrespectful to the victims… and can even seem like they’re glorifying the killer. That’s not something Devanny Pinn intends to do with her feature directorial debut a 1970s serial killer tale called Black Mass. Speaking with Rue Morgue, she revealed that Black Mass focuses on the victims rather than the killer.
Inspired by real events, Black Mass is set over a 24-hour period in Florida during the winter of 1978 when college girls were being stalked by a serial killer. Eric Pereira and Brandon Slagle wrote the screenplay. Cast members include Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects), Jeremy London (Mallrats), Lisa Wilcox (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master), Michelle Romano (Escape From Ensenada), Kathleen Kinmont...

Devanny Pinn has almost 90 screen acting credits to her name, with many of those credits being for roles she has played in horror film. Now The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that Pinn is making her feature directorial debut with a thriller of her own, a 1970s serial killer tale called Black Mass, which started filming in Los Angeles last Friday.

Ghost Town takes place in a boomtown gone bust and involves prostitutes. But that’s where the similarities end, rather than a drama this is a horror film about what seems to be a rather literal ghost town.
Solomon is a drifter in dire straights. His horse has died, he’s out of money and his gun has gone missing. Luckily for him, there’s a town visible in the distance, and a job working for Hagan the owner of the local saloon and whorehouse. He’s not five minutes into the job when one of the customers is shot dead while they’re talking to him.
As if that and having an “insufferable prick”, as one of the girls calls him, for a boss wasn’t...

Fangoria has unveiled the trailer for Mutilator 2, writer/director Buddy Cooper’s long-awaited follow-up to his 1984 slasher The Mutilator (pick up a copy Here), and you can check it out in the embed above! It was previously announced that The Mutilator cast members Ruth Martinez and Bill Hitchcock would be returning for Mutilator 2, despite the fact that Hitchcock’s character died in the first movie, and now the trailer has revealed how that’s possible: this sequel is taking a meta approach! Much like New Nightmare or the Town That Dreaded Sundown update, Mutilator 2 is set in a world where the first film was just a movie. But now someone is bringing the slashing of The Mutilator to life.
The original The Mutilator (a.k.a. Fall Break) had the following synopsis:
Years after the accidental death of his wife, a deranged man starts to slice and dice his son...

Thirty-eight years after gifting the world a really cool slasher called The Mutilator (pick up a copy Here), writer/director Buddy Cooper has finally gotten around to making a sequel to the film… and over the weekend, he took to social media to unveil the first official poster for Mutilator 2! Cooper notes that “the woman bound to the nasty looking piling” on the Mutilator 2 poster is Olivia, played by Eva Hamilton of Death Kiss. Producer Jeff Seemann added that “the ocean water was in the 40s when Eva stepped into it for this scene.” So it definitely sounds like it’s a moment worth promoting on the poster.

It’s been over a twenty years since Scream reinvented the slasher genre, heralding a new age of post-modern, self-referential horror. In the two decades since, the genre has found its way back to its more horrific, and in a lot of cases cliched, ways – with modern filmmakers, many of whom grew up in the 80s at the height of the slashers popularity, rediscovering what made the much-maligned genre so great. However, given that film, like life, is cyclical, it means its probably about time for yet another “reinvention.”
And to that end comes Ruin Me….
Every Halloween, more extreme haunted attractions open for business, each promising even more thrills. Some have taken this to a whole new level.

[Note: With the film now out on DVD in the UK, here’s a reposting of our review of Death Kiss from its Us debut last year]
As if having one of his films, Playing With Dolls, released in the UK as Leatherface wasn’t bad enough (though not his decision but rather the UK distributors), Rene Perez has gone all out with his latest movie, in “homaging” other exploitation films – in this case Charles Bronson and Death Wish – with Death Kiss. Perez’s latest film features Charles Bronson doppelganger Robert Bronzi (here billed as Robert Kovacs), who previously appeared in another Rene Perez film From Hell to the Wild West, as a vigilante with a mysterious past who goes to a crime-infested city and takes the law into his own hands, trying to rid the city of crime whilst at the same time protecting a young mother and her child.

With the Scandinavian market becoming increasingly divided between blockbusters and indies, mid-budget films are left in limbo and struggling to get financial backing.
“The polarization starts at the funding stage,” says Hakon Overas of Norway’s 4½ Fiksjon, the production company behind Hans Petter Moland’s “Out Stealing Horses,” in competition for the Golden Bear in Berlin. “[The Norwegian Film Institute] won’t give money to those films ‘in the middle,’ the ones we used to make.”
Moland’s business partner Turid Oversveen agrees. “We used to focus on quality art films, but today we are forced to include blockbusters and more commercial films or we are out of business.”
For Torleif Hauge, Project Advisor at the Nordisk TV and Film Fund, the investors’ risk-averse attitude is down to consumer behavior: “People still go to the cinema, tickets are selling like never before, but more money is going to blockbusters because that’s what people go to see.

Through five Death Wish movies spanning 20 years, Charles Bronson delivered a unique brand of justice to violent criminals who crossed (and sometimes ended) the paths of his family and friends. Although the iconic actor passed away back in 2003, Bronson's memory lives on in the new film Death Kiss, starring Robert Kovacs as a man who could be Paul Kersey's doppelgänger. With Death Kiss coming out on digital and VOD platforms on October 2nd from Uncork'd Entertainment, we've been provided with an exclusive clip from the film to share with Daily Dead readers!
Press Release: Uncork'd Entertainment announces a digital/VOD release date of October 2nd for new action-vigilante feature Death Kiss.
Filmed in Northern California, the film stars Robert Kovacs (who has gained attention for his uncanny resemblance to a certain well-known action star), Daniel Baldwin (John Carpenter’S Vampires), Richard Tyson, Eva Hamilton (horror fest fave Ruin Me), Stormi Maya,...

I’ve got a ridiculous trailer here for you to watch today for a new vigilante action-thriller called Death Kiss. As you’ll see, it a Charles Bronson-style film and it comes complete with a Charles Bronson look-a-like! That actors name is Robert ‘Bronzi’ Kovacs, and he doesn’t do much talking in the trailer. It’s clear he’s just there to look like Bronson and kick some ass and I found it quite amusing.
The film follows a vigilante with a mysterious past who goes to a crime-infested city and takes the law into his own hands, at the same time protecting a young mother and her child. When talking about the film, producer Jeff Miller says:
“Rene’s movie is very cool and stylish. It feels like a throwback to the Cannon films of the ’80s. After an enthusiastic response at Texas Frightmare Weekend in May,...
