Paranoia, at least the kind stemming from a lack of confidence, isn’t the dominant sensation permeating Oliver Stone’s frenzied and decidedly campy pledge of malignance JFK, the film that briefly made conspiracy theorizing not just socially acceptable, but practically a cornerstone of citizens’ civic duty. No, in practice, JFK is as sure of itself as a QAnon truther, setting into centripetal motion hundreds of specious theories and dancing around the logical gaps like Max Ophüls’s camera did the titular jewelry of The Earrings of Madame de… It’s the crown jewel of the small but potent batch of mainstream American films of the late Boomer era that seemingly rode the collective insanity of the cultural zeitgeist to financial reward and cultural cachet—two other obvious examples being Network, which explicitly “articulated the popular rage” that had more or less been building since the Kennedy assassination, and the...

Robyn and Kody Brown’s relationship was documented beginning with season one of TLC’s Sister Wives. For 17 seasons after, Robyn and Kody’s union in relation to his wives, Meri, Janelle, and Christine, continually caused conflict. Ultimately, did their “unreasonable” relationship “doom” their polygamist family?
Did Kody and Robyn Brown ‘doom’ the Brown family?
From courtship through marriage, Kody Brown treated Robyn Brown differently. His preferential treatment of her set changed his relationship with wives Meri, Janelle, Christine, and their children.
In a Reddit thread titled “The problems didn’t start on Robyn’s 11-day honeymoon,” Sister Wives fans discussed the troubling history of Robyn and Kody’s relationship. They agreed their union was the beginning of the end of the Brown family as a whole.
“It started with Kody driving 5 hours to ‘court’ her while Christine was pregnant. It was unreasonable for him to leave that long (the...

Exclusive: Blue Fox Entertainment announced it has acquired worldwide rights and will be launching sales on the sci-fi thriller Site at the upcoming American Film Market in November. The gripping and thought-provoking film is written and directed by the award-winning Jason Eric Perlman, who was recently named #4 in LA Weekly’s “Top 10 Entertainment Professionals to Watch in 2023.” His debut feature Threshold was released by Sony Pictures after a decorated festival run in 2017.
Blue Fox Entertainment is handling worldwide sales and will preview first look footage of the film for buyers at the upcoming American Film Market (AFM). Blue Fox Entertainment’s US distribution division is planning a theatrical release for the film.
The film stars Jake McLaughlin, Arielle Kebbel, Theo Rossi, and Miki Ishikawa, and Yoson An.
In Site, Neil (Jake McLaughlin) experiences an inexplicable time distortion in an abandoned military test site while inspecting it with his business partner Garrison (Theo Rossi). Soon, Neil is having repeated traumatic flashes back to a WWII prison camp in China called Unit 731, which somehow holds the thread to his own unraveling present. Neil begins to realize that the past lives and events in this place of unspeakable brutality seem to mirror his own trauma with his son Wiley and his wife Elena (Arielle Kebbel). Desperate for answers, Neil enlists Naomi (Miki Ishikawa) to help him find the facility’s last surviving scientist. Ultimately, Neil awakens to a new redemptive responsibility, both within his own family and the greater society around him.
Site is produced by publicist and entrepreneur Benjamin Cooke, Sundance alum, Kelly Hayes, international businesswoman, Yvonne Supangkat, and Jason Eric Perlman.
Blue Fox Entertainment’s James Huntsman said, “Audiences are hungry for high quality science fiction thrillers, which have been scarce in the market recently. With Site, Jason and his talented cast and crew have created an exciting journey that has something relevant to say beneath the surface of the film.”
Director Jason Eric Perlman said, “We are thrilled to have this film beginning its journey in the viewing world. In this time of such unthinkable conflicts I believe it’s vital that creativity explores the interconnectedness of mankind, as well as the atrocities we are capable of inflicting upon one another. Site is intent upon doing both, but with the philosophical imperative that if we ignore history, or the darkness within each of us, we are doomed to repeat the same traumas over and over.
It has been an honor to work with our incredibly talented cast in bringing this story to life, and their commitment to the material elevates it to a remarkable plane. Our visionary crew is also to be credited with what I believe we’ve achieved. The cinematography of Eunah Lee and the brilliant production design of Gabor Norman were integral in the telling of this story to full potential. We are excited to team now with Blue Fox in launching this film into the world.”...

Sister Wives star Robyn Brown historically behaves in a way that cannot be described in any other way but maddening. From crying fake tears to manipulating Kody Brown, here are some of her most maddening personality traits and hot-button topics that infuriate viewers.
Robyn Brown manipulates Kody Brown
Perhaps the most maddening personality trait Robyn Brown shows throughout TLC’s Sister Wives is how she manipulates Kody Brown. This is despite him taking a stance of patriarchy and believing Robyn subscribes to it.
Robyn’s manipulation of Kody was apparent in an episode filmed before their 2010 spiritual marriage. Robyn selfishly insisted he needed to spend equal time with her and her children to help transition them. However, his other wives, Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown, differed in their opinions.
From a two-week honeymoon to saying she didn’t want to buy their current house [but needed five bedrooms], Robyn is her own dichotomy. She...

Walt Garrison, who won a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys and competed as a rodeo cowboy, has died at 79. The NFL team posted the notice on its website Thursday that Garrison died overnight. It did not give a cause of death.
Garrison played nine years in Dallas and retired in 1974 as the No. 3 rusher and No. 4 receiver in franchise history. He is still fourth on Dallas’ all-time list with 4.32 yards per carry and ninth with 3,491 rushing yards.
But it was Garrison’s rodeo career that made him stand out. During his rookie season, the Cowboys said Garrison would compete in local rodeos as a steer wrestler, then get back to the team hotel before 11 p.m. curfew.
“I wasn’t starting,” Garrison recalled. “I was returning punts and kicks and covering on the kamikaze squad, that’s all I was doing. And hell, you could get hurt worse on them than you can rodeoing.

Kody Brown has said that two of his adult children, Garrison and Gabriel, whom he shares with his ex-wife Janelle Brown, have refused to talk to him despite him reaching out. The Sister Wives star has 18 children from his relationships with Janelle, Christine, Meri, and Robyn Brown, but the family has faced a rough patch over the past year or so. Christine, Janelle, and Meri have all left the plural marriage, leaving only Robyn, and Kody’s relationship with his kids has taken a significant hit. “I’ve reached out to Garrison and Gabriel,” Kody says in a clip from the October 15 episode of the TLC reality series, posted by EOnline. “I reached out to them just before Christmas, and I reached out to them after. No, they’re blocking me. They’re not interested in talking to me.” Tensions arose between Kody and his two adult sons over the...

Few characters in Oliver Stone’s “JFK” leave as indelible an impression than Donald Sutherland’s mysterious Capitol Hill informant. In just one short scene, Sutherland masterfully provides Kevin Costner’s Jim Garrison with intel about the assassination that makes Garrison realize exactly what he’s up against. Sutherland is just about perfect in the small but pivotal role, but IndieWire reports that Stone almost cast another legendary actor in the part.

One of the most iconic scenes in Oliver Stone‘s 1991 classic “JFK” involves Donald Sutherland as a mysterious operative filling Kevin Costner‘s Jim Garrison in on the forces behind the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. In an exhilarating tour de force performance for which Sutherland should have been Oscar-nominated, the actor tells a mesmerizing story packed with dense information that blows Garrison’s — and by extension, the viewer’s — mind, shifting the movie into an intense higher gear that propels the film’s final hour. The scene is unthinkable without Sutherland, and yet it could have gone a very different way.
At a live edition of IndieWire’s Filmmaker Toolkit podcast presented by the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles, writer, producer, and director Stone revealed that he had discussed the role Sutherland eventually played with one of his childhood heroes. “I had been dumb enough to go to Marlon Brando,...

The Brown family holidays looked a bit different this year now that “Sister Wives” star Kody Brown has split from all of his wives except for Robyn Brown. Shortly before the holidays, Janelle Brown confirmed that she and Kody are separated after almost 30 years of marriage.
And in the “One-on-One” special, Meri Brown, Kody’s first wife, called out the polygamist for saying on the show that he did not consider himself married to her. She noted that he’d never expressed such a sentiment to her and had made the decision for her as to the status of their previously estranged marriage.
As for Christine Brown, she announced her split from Kody in November 2021 and their messy divorce played out on this past season of the TLC reality series.
So when it came time to celebrate the holidays, the divided families spent time apart from Kody and each other.

“I’m never wrong about this stuff, never,” said a dismissive and scoffing Larry David earlier this year in that now infamous Super Bowl ad for investing in cryptocurrency exchange Ftx.
While the Seinfeld co-creator rejected the wheel, coffee, the U.S. Constitution, electricity, putting a man on the moon and more innovations in the much praised commercial, looks like David might have been right about the now collapsed Ftx, for all the good it’s going to do him.
Along with the likes of Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen, Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, Shaquille O’Neal, and Naomi Osaka, David is now a defendant in a class action suit against the now hollowed out Ftx and its ex-ceo Sam Bankman-Fried.

Many of us millennials literally grew up with "South Park." When the show first shocked the masses with its unapologetically vile and juvenile hijinks back in 1997, I was nine years old — roughly the same age as the foul-mouthed youngsters who made up the main cast. Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny were cultural phenomenons seemingly overnight; even my stiff, prim, and proper father struggled to hide his affection for the "respect my authoritah" moment (a cultural meme before memes were a thing). True, this may have just been a symptom of Dad's barely-contained disdain for his career in policing — he always did laugh a bit too hard at Chief Clancy Wiggum's incompetence on "The Simpsons" — but I like to think it speaks to the universal appeal of the show's sheer absurdist fun.
Like "The Simpsons," "South Park" peaked in the '90s, and its glory days of pop culture dominance and record-breaking ratings are over.
