History is doubling down on Presidential programming with two new miniseries centered on Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.
Lincoln (working title) and Theodore Roosevelt (working title) are both exec produced by Presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, while Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way Productions company are involved in the latter.
Lincoln is a three-part series, featuring two-hour episodes, that will be a multi-layered biography of the 16th President. From Lincoln’s impoverished childhood to his days as a young prairie lawyer and budding politician, through his unlikely election to the presidency and eventual assassination, the miniseries will feature live action scripted sequences, expert interviews and a rich historical archive of rare photographs, prints, and original documents.
It is produced by Nutopia with Jane Root and Ben Goold serving as executive producers alongside Goodwin and Beth Laski for Pastimes Productions. Eli Lehrer, Mary E. Donahue and Jennifer Wagman are executive producers for History.

History channel has renewed “The Men Who Built America” and “The Food That Built America” for second seasons, while sister network A&e has ordered 160 more episodes of “Live Pd.”
The “Live Pd” documentary series follows officers from police departments across America as they go about their nightly patrol. The series airs Friday and Saturday nights from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. Et/Pt and is hosted by Dan Abrams with analysis from Tom Morris Jr. and Sgt. Sean ‘Sticks’ Larkin.
A+E Networks has been among the few to announce new programming for the coming year, given that the broadcast pilot season was shelved due to the pandemic, which has left the fate of many networks’ fall schedules twisting in the wind.

Sioux Falls, S.D. — To all the girls and boys, makin' all that noise: Alice Cooper has found you some new toys.
The heavy metal icon was in South Dakota on Wednesday to help kick-off a 6,000-square-foot rock `n' roll academy for local Boys & Girls Club members. Complete with a recording studio and performance space, the center will offer lessons and have all kinds of loud stuff – including a few high-end drum sets from Warrant guitarist Joey Allen and guitars from members of Kiss.
Cooper opened his long-dreamed Rock Teen Center in Phoenix last week, and he said he wanted to help his friend Chuck Brennan offer a similar opportunity in Brennan's hometown of Sioux Falls. Brennan, who founded Dollar Loan Center, grew up down the street from the academy and was a Boys Club kid.
Cooper said the best way to get teens off the streets is to put a guitar in their hands,...
