On August 23, the music-filled documentary film Live From Tokyo will be released on DVD by Good Charamel Records with distribution through Mvd Visual.
The DVD will carry the list price of $16.95.
Directed by U.S. filmmaker Lewis Rapkin, Live From Tokyo take viewers through the back streets in Shinjuku, the intersections in Shibuya, the alleys in Koenji, and all over Tokyo, as it highlights the innovative musicians that create the city’s multi-faceted underground and independent music scene.
Looking at Tokyo’s music culture as a reflection of Japanese society and in relation to international music culture, the film certainly does a good job in playing up Tokyo’s reputation for an overwhelming variety of global information and its media-saturated urban environment and cutting edge innovation.

The team of Nippon Connection has announced the full program for the 11th edition of the Japanese film festival. Despite the current events in Japan, the festival will take place in Frankfurt from April 27th to Mai 1st.
