David New, associate artistic director of Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre, traveled to Chattanooga to see a production of "The Grapes of Wrath" that he was cast in.
He was an audience participant at the Briar Street Theatre's Blue Man Group production on August 30, 2010.
While at Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts, he studied improvisation with Keith Johnstone (creator of many of the games of "Whose Line is it Anyway?" and playwriting with Pulitzer prize winner Beth Henley.
