Harleys Joker and Jokers Harley
Artist Abraham Lopez has created art pieces inspired by some of the world's best Cosplay artists. Lopez recreates the costumes and signature faces of all the Cosplayers.
An artist created art inspired by cosplay, cosplayers created costumes inspired by art. Inspiration doesn't get much more layered than that.

Here's a delightfully comical piece of fan art by Abraham Lopez that brings together Batman and the alien Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. The look on Stitch's face as he stares up at Batman is great. Here's what the artist has to say about the illustration in a statement:
"Look who wants to join the Bat Ohana… I really wanted Batman's symbol somewhere in here as well as the hibiscus flower to represent Stitch. I played around with some Hawaiian themed Bat logo, but couldn't find a proper place for it that wouldn't seem forced and wasn't too covered up. Finally ended up using both as word bubbles to represent each character and their voice."...

Artist Abraham Lopez has created this series of awesome cartoon style portraits that are based on the photos of real cosplayers. These were done in an effort to try and make April Cosplayer Appreciate Month. That's actually not a bad idea, and it should exist! This is a comment from the artist on why there needs to be a Cosplayer Appreciate Month.
I still would like it if became an official thing for the hard working cosplayers of the world to get some love for all their efforts. They spend countless hours and money on their costumes walking and sweating on the convention floor to bring our favorite characters to life, so why not show them some love.
I love these, and I hope the artist keeps on doing them. ...

Here's a humorous Valentine's Day inspired illustration featuring The Joker and Harley Quinn. It was created by artist Abraham Lopez, and it's called "This Love is Madness." Here's a note from the artist,
There is someone for everyone, is what I get when I look at this relationship. It could be a bit abusive and one sided at times, but it's love.
I had sketched this out on the weekend and thought it would be appropriate to post it on Valentine's day. I'm still playing around with a specific look for how I want to draw Joker. I did know that I wanted to draw him with his hat, just because you don't see him wear it nowadays. A beat and tied up Robin was one of the original ideas when first sketching this, but I also tried having Joker hold a bag of money as if he had just...

Hadouken! Well I guess more like "Haya daku taka shen" (that's Stitch for "huge ball of energy flying at your face"). As a huge fan of the little blue mischief maker, I was incredibly pleased to stumble upon this cool Disneyfied take on the Street Fighter universe. Drawn by Abraham Lopez (ArtistAbe on DeviantArt) in the classic Chris Sanders style, this piece just makes me all kinds of giddy. Kudos for the perfect matching of Jumba as E.Honda and Pleakly as Sakura (in some twisted way that totally makes sense). Make sure to head to his Deviant Art or Facebook page to check out some of his other work.
Who else thinks Stitch would lose his focus about halfway through the match upon seeing a sandwich in the corner? Just me?...

If you've been to Disneyland's Haunted Mansion, you've probably seen the famous “stretching portraits,” a series of paintings which expand to reveal hidden images. That display inspired artist Abraham Lopez to create similar portraits of iconic Batman characters – including The Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and of course Batman's own team – for his work “Haunted Arkham Asylum.” Recently Laughing Squid showcased Lopez's four panels alongside the Disney Originals (shown above, designed by Marc Davis and painted by Clem Hill) for comparison, and the scenarios are a dead-on homage: Harley balanced over Killer Croc, The Joker holding Scarface, Ivy perched on Ra’s Al Ghul's tombstone, and the Batman family sinking into a pool of Clayface. More of Lopez's excellent work can be found at his DeviantArt and Tumblr pages.
