Nicolas Cage! *The Internet cheers*. Alright, now we have that over and done with, let’s get down to the review…
In the aftermath of the Bp oil spill, an idealistic but imperfect New Orleans politician (Nicolas Cage) finds his plans of restoration unravelling as his own life becomes contaminated with corruption, scandal and deceit.
I am going to leap right into the meat of it here and say that The Runner is not a happy film. If you’re one of those people who like a happy ending and for everything to be wrapped up at least a little bit by the end, you definitely shouldn’t go for this film. It has quite a dark and depressing finish.

The Runner Trailer. Austin Stark‘s The Runner (2015) movie trailer stars Nicolas Cage, Connie Nielsen, Sarah Paulson, Peter Fonda, and Wendell Pierce. The Runner‘s plot synopsis: “‘The Runner’ follows an idealistic but flawed politician (Cage), who, in the aftermath of the 2010 British Petroleum oil spill, is forced to confront his dysfunctional life after his career is destroyed in a sex scandal.”
The runner looks like Nicolas Cage returning to form is a good drama. Over the last three years, he has made many films of dubious quality. This film looks and feels looks to be the complete opposite of those films.
The Runner also stars Bryan Batt, Wanetah Walmsley, Fredric Lehne, Ciera Payton, Divine Prince Ty Emmecca, Christopher Berry, Kerry Cahill, James Moses Black, and Gus Rhodes.

Check out a new international traieler and quad poster for Summit’s action film Drive Angry.
In the newest 3D action-adventure from the director of My Bloody Valentine, Drive Angry stars Nicolas Cage as Milton, a hardened felon who has broken out of hell for one last chance at redemption. Intent on stopping a vicious cult who murdered his daughter, he has three days to stop them before they sacrifice her baby beneath a full moon. He’s joined by Piper (Amber Heard) – a young, sexy waitress who liberates her ex-boyfriend’s cherry-red muscle car in order to help Milton.
Now, the two of them are hot on the trail of the deadly leader of the cult, Jonah King (Billy Burke), who believes it is his destiny to use the baby to unleash hell on earth. But the bloodthirsty cult is the least of Milton’s problems. The police are after him too.
