Brand new Boutique label Treasured Films follows up its inaugural release of The Last Hunter with something a little different; Jeff Lieberman’S satirical seasonal shocker Satan’S Little Helper (2004), available now from Treasuredfilms.Co.UK
It’s Halloween and nine year old Douglas (Alexander Brickel) is obsessed with playing his favourite video game ‘Satan’s Little Helper’, something he immerses himself in when his big sister Jenna (Katheryn Winnick – Vikings) comes back to visit. Before long Douglas happens upon a serial killer dressed up as the dark prince himself, and naively thinks his video game has taken on a new lifelike dimension. As the situation become deadlier, however, Douglas begins to think it may not be a game afterall as his family and all around them try and survive Halloween night from his devilish new friend.

After a few quiet weeks of home releases, this Tuesday is shaping up to be a great day for horror & sci-fi fans looking to expand their Blu-ray & DVD collections, because we have some killer titles heading home. Scream Factory is keeping busy this Tuesday with their Blus for He Knows You’re Alone and Eyes of a Stranger, and if you missed it when it was released earlier this year, you can finally catch up with Son, featuring Andi Mattichak this week, too.
Other Blu-ray & DVD releases for May 18th include Hunted, Amityville Poltergeist, The Seventh Day, and Baxter.

January’s home media releases are ending on a high note, as there are a bunch of great titles headed to Blu-ray and DVD this week. My very favorite film of 2019, Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite is making its debut on both formats, and if you missed it in theaters last year, Terminator: Dark Fate is hitting multiple formats as well.
For those of you who dig totally bananapants filmmaking, Tammy and the T-Rex is being released this week courtesy of Vinegar Syndrome. Vs is also keeping busy with Berserker, Beyond the Door 3, and Unmasked Part 25, and Scream Factory is bringing home Body Parts, Let’s Scare Jessica to Death, as well as a Steelbook Edition of The Slumber Party Massacre, too.
Arrow Video has put together a special edition release of Edge of the Axe, and the Warner Archive Collection is showing some love to the criminally underseen Two on a Guillotine.

Enjoying its Us premiere later tonight at the 2017 Fantastic Fest is Luke Shanahan’s haunting sci-fi-infused psychological thriller, Rabbit, which features a beautiful performance from the film’s star, Adelaide Clemens, as a twin sister named Maude whose sibling has been abducted, and a series of startling visions sets her on the path to discovering what happened to her identical twin, Cleo.
Daily Dead had the opportunity to speak with Shanahan in advance of the film’s premiere, and he discussed being able to represent Australia in the States with his latest project, collaborating with Clemens, paying tribute to his favorite era of genre filmmaking, and much more.
Look for our review of Rabbit in the coming week, as well as more coverage from all the great films being celebrated at this year’s Fantastic Fest in Austin. To catch up on our Fantastic Fest 2017 coverage, visit here.

“Pieces” (Mil Gritos Tiene La Noche) 1982 Directed by Juan Piquer Simón, Starring Jack Taylor, Christopher George, Lynda Day George, Frank Braña and Paul Smith. Arrow 3 disc Blu-ray, DVD and CD.
Arrow continue to satisfy our hunger for classic slasher movies with their latest release "Pieces" (1982), a classic slice of sickening nostalgia which emerged during the height of the video nasty era.
A Boston college campus is being terrorised by a black-clad maniac who collects body parts from his unfortunate co-ed victims. As the corpses (and red herrings) begin to pile up, can Professor Brown (genre veteran Jack Taylor) unmask the murderer before his morbid puzzle is complete?
Fans of the genre should be incredibly pleased with the treatment given to this three disc collector’s edition. Let’s be clear from the outset, “Pieces” is not the best directed movie you’ll ever see. Director Juan Piquer Simón,...

he United Kingdom has an infamous history when it comes to censorship. The debacle of the eighties with many films, either good or bad becoming the victims of censorship is something that we’d rather forget. Films were looked down on even for having certain words in the title, with one example being Chainsaw which was probably because of the dubious connection to Texas Chainsaw Massacre. One of these movies that dared to test the censors with such a name was Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers which 88 Films have now released on Blu-ray as part of their Slasher Classics Collection.
While there are plenty of chainsaws on show in the movie it shouldn’t be taken seriously and in reality doesn...

Earlier this summer we reported that 88 Films will be releasing Graduation Day and Mother’s Day to Blu-ray in the UK, and now 1981′s Don’t Go in the Woods… Alone will also be given the UK high-definition treatment. Together, these three releases make up the first wave of 88 Films’ Slasher Classics Collection, and the documentary, Scream Queens: Horror Heroines Exposed!, has been included on Graduation Day‘s special features.
Graduation Day will hit Blu-ray in the UK on October 13th, while Mother’s Day will be available in the high-definition format sometime in early 2015. An official release date for Don’t Go in the Woods… Alone has not yet been announced. Below are two official press releases and a look at the Blu-ray cover art. Released in 1981, Graduation Day has become a favourite of slasher movie fans thanks to its plasma-spurting set pieces, maniacal mystery-killer storyline and a cast of cult celebrities that includes Christopher George (City of the Living Dead), Vanna White (Wheel of Fortune) and the perennially topless Scream Queen Linnea Quigley. Now set for a Blu-ray release, with a stunning print restored and re-mastered from a colourful 4k scan, from the folks at 88 Films, Graduation Day will arrive in the UK with an array of newly created special features from High Rising Productions including a new feature length documentary entitled Scream Queens: Horror Heroines Exposed.

A birthday (or random holiday), killer kids and a total eclipse…all of this sounds like the perfect combination for a horror film. Bloody Birthday is a slasher movie that appeared in the eighties, this should be more than a hint what you’ll see. Horror fans know the tropes well that appear in the film, and although this is somewhat of an obscure homage to Halloween, 88 Films have done what they do best and brought a cult classic (of sorts) onto Blu-ray for the fans to enjoy.
In 1970 three children are born during a solar eclipse in which the Sun and Moon blocked Saturn. Ten years later these three kids...
