"Smokey and the Bandit" was a delightful '70s action-comedy movie; it spawned two sequels, the first of which was pretty damn good. For a modern audience looking back, the series was also remarkably star-studded. It featured beloved late actors like Burt Reynolds, Jackie Gleason, Patrick McCormick, and Mike Henry, most of whom are still fondly remembered over forty years after the first movie came out. Although the series itself isn't quite as well-known among today's young viewer as we'd probably prefer, most of its cast certainly is.
But what about the actors in the series who are still alive today? What are they up to? Let's check in on the lives and careers of the remaining "Smokey and the Bandit" cast, and see how they're holding up. We might never get to see that Seth MacFarlane-penned revival series we heard about back in 2020, but it's not time to...

Brooks Laich and Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir have found a way to make paradise even sweeter. After they were spotted kissing earlier this month, the pair made their relationship Instagram official on Sunday, August 8, as both stars posted to Instagram about their romance. Brooks' post included a photo of himself walking toward the 28-year-old Icelandic CrossFit athlete alongside the pool during their stay at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on the Big Island of Hawaii. "I'll start walking your way, you start walking mine," Brooks wrote, quoting from the 1991 country hit "Meet in the Middle" by Diamond Rio. The...

Clocking in at 23 minutes, Shiflett’s behind-the-scenes peek at Seven Peaks marks one of the shortest episodes of Walking the Floor.

With a vintage country-bluegrass voice that beautifully captures both the toughest and most tender aspects of love gone wrong, singer Rhonda Vincent’s just-released single and video, “Like I Could,” painfully charts the disintegration of a seemingly once-perfect relationship.
Co-written by Grand Ole Opry legend Jeannie Seely with Bobby Tomberlin (Diamond Rio’s “One More Day”) and Erin Enderlin (Alan Jackson’s “Monday Morning Church”), “Like I Could” is accompanied by a music video starring Vincent, her award-winning band the Rage, and a character played by the musician’s real-life husband and manager Herb Sandker.

Chris Shiflett is no stranger to big stages. As guitarist for the Foo Fighters, Shiflett has played the world’s largest venues and shared bills with some of rock & roll’s finest acts. On a Friday evening in Nashville in mid-May, though, he’s preparing to step out onto a stage that intimidates even him: that of the Grand Ole Opry.
“It’s not something I ever expected to even get asked to do, you know,” Shiflett says, hanging out in his dressing room with his band and road team...

Monday night saw a two-hour marathon of music as the live playoffs of The Voice Season 15 got underway, with all 24 contestants taking the stage for a full performance. Shoes were thrown and high notes were hit as a 13-year-old phenom capped the show once again, but the field will now be cut in half as fans and the coaches cast their votes.
Blake Shelton’s team kicked the night off, with early stand outs including Nashville’s Natasia Greycloud and her gospel-inflected cover of Ariana Grande’s “God Is a Woman.

Several current and former artists on the Arista Nashville label, including superstars Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley and Brooks & Dunn, will come together to assist one of people responsible for some of their biggest hits getting played at country radio.
On Tuesday, September 25th, Nashville’s historic War Memorial Auditorium will host “Music for Mike,” a benefit concert in support of former Arista radio promotion manager Mike Owens. In 2014, Owens was diagnosed with end stage renal disease and has been placed on dialysis while he awaits a donor kidney. His ongoing...

For Old Dominion, their third single - "Song For Another Time" - might just be their most charming, and certainly their most unique, yet. "This song means so much to me and I'm so proud of how it came out," frontman Matt Ramsey tells People of the band's follow-up to their big hits "Break Up with Him" and "Snapback." What makes it so special? The lyrics are actually made up of 20 other song titles - and the song almost didn't make the album. It was written on their tour bus one evening last summer on the Kenny Chesney tour, just...

Kree Harrison may not have won "American Idol" Season 12, but her career prospects are looking good. The country singer will make her Grand Ole Opry debut on June 4.
Kree shared the news with reporters on Friday (May 17), saying "Today's my birthday, and that's the best birthday present I've ever gotten in my life!"
It turns out that "Idol" judge Keith Urban invited her to be part of the show -- in which he will also perform -- on a night that should be very familiar to many television audiences. In addition to Urban and Harrison, the Opry bill for June 4 lists another "Idol" alum, Kellie Pickler. Other acts planned include Rascal Flatts, Ricky Skaggs, Diamond Rio, and Lennon and Maisy Stella (the two sisters who play Rayna James' daughters on "Nashville.")
For her part, Kree couldn't be happier about her upcoming performance. "One of my lifelong goals is to play...

It's night two of the live playoffs on Season 4 of "The Voice," with reigning champ Blake Shelton and newbie coach Shakira's teams taking the stage to prove they deserve the shot to make it to the Top 12. With Adam Levine and Usher's teams taking the night off after a rousing night one, which of tonight's singers will rise to the occasion and which will crumble under the pressure?
Shakira is so cute with her nerves: "All my fingernails are going to be gone tonight."
Blake taking his team out to karaoke to get them ready for their first live performance is hysterical. It's quite in line with Blake's whole goofball persona. All those country kiddos singing "We Are Family" was cute.
This group performance of Little Big Town's "Boondocks" is proof that Team Blake will be playing to their base this season. I'd be shocked if...

People say the darndest things on The Voice. Tonight’s Live Playoffs episode — featuring the members of Team Shakira and Team Blake fighting to make the Season 4 Top 12 — found host Carson Daly dropping this bomb mot: “It’s clear tonight that Blake [Shelton] doesn’t know where ‘the girl place’ is.” (Somewhere, someone at Parents Television Council HQ is firing off a strongly worded email.)
If that wasn’t enough, we had Blake blasting a fire hose of hyperbole at viewers by calling solid but hardly electrifying teenager Danielle Bradbery “one of the most important artists” who’s ever been on the show.

There are no good arguments against the MP3, only sentimental ones in favor of alternatives: the warmth and crackle of vinyl, the possibility-rich canvas of the 7-inch sleeve, the character-building exercise of making a mix tape, that impulse-purchased CD with the eye-catching cover art that became the soundtrack of your sophomore year. For most Americans over the age of 30—for those who relate the size of an iPod to that of a cassette tape or think the idea of a laptop with no disc drive is insane—there is still something futuristic and unreal about MP3s and the limitless possibilities they suggest. But for those who have come of age in the past decade or so, there is no argument for the MP3. It doesn’t require one; it is just part of the natural landscape, like music itself.

Nashville, Tenn. (AP) — Keith Urban was slyly dropping hints about the surprises he had in store at the All For The Hall benefit concert this week, but little did he know the night's biggest surprise was aimed at him. Vince Gill and members of Rascal Flatts, The Oak Ridge Boys and Diamond Rio surprised Urban Tuesday night with the announcement he will officially join The Grand Ole Opry later this month, a revelation that clearly took the Australian country star by surprise. "I'm shocked, I've got to say," Urban told the sold-out crowd at Bridgestone Arena. "It's a huge honor...
