What is “Snowy Bing Bongs?” As with most projects involving “Swiss Army Man” co-directors Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert — aka “Daniels” — you kind of have to watch it. Originally performed as a stage play by the dance-comedy trio Cocoon Central Dance Team, the 40-minute film that’s “part psychotropic performance art spectacle, part absurdist sketch show” premieres at Brooklyn’s BAMcinemaFEST. Its path to that point was as unpredictable as the movie itself.

Cocoon Central founders Tallie Medel, Sunita Mani and Eleanore Pienta — aka the Bing Bongs — have been longtime collaborators with the Daniels, dating back to their days at Emerson College in Boston. That was before Kwan and Scheinert made names for themselves as the directors of visually-inventive music videos, which led to their surreal 2016 Sundance breakout.

Time has become a precious commodity for television viewers. With dozens of original shows regularly premiering on streaming services alone, there are more options than ever, especially when embarking on new show catch-up. When whole seasons are available overnight, that can make prospects seem even more daunting.
But even if it’s just for a single season, sometimes a show’s best episodes come later in their run. And when they arrive, part of these memorable episodes stand out because they stand alone.
That’s why, in the spirit of helping out with a TV streaming sampler of sorts, we’ve compiled a must-see list of ten episodes from Amazon, Hulu and Netflix series that offer a convenient non-pilot entry point. Sample them à la carte or use them to help get some new fans hooked.

What an incredibly touching episode.
It wasn't perfect, mind you. There were still a couple of things that bugged me about Grey's Anatomy Season 13 Episode 14.
But the two prominent cases really pulled at the heart-strings in different ways. They were the primary focus, and oddly enough, despite a few moments (like the Bailey and Meredith scene), a lot of the Minick tension fell to the back.
Although the entire Minnick ordeal has been a combination of entertaining and frustrating, it was refreshing to see it take a backseat.
The way the doctors were broken down into groups surprised me. Not because I don't expect certain individuals to work together, but I would never have anticipated them working together without some tension.
DeLuca, Maggie, and Riggs could have been such an awkward trio. Maggie had a previous relationship with DeLuca and unresolved feelings for Riggs.
Did I want to see drama?...

Sooooo...who undressed and staged Harry, Alex, and Ryan in that bed?
On Quantico Season 2 Episode 5, Harry's mission was to figure out what was going on between Ryan and Alex. Let's face it, it's not like Alex and Ryan have been careful. One of them should have been standing guard in case, I don't know, one of the recruits came home, like Harry did.
I'm glad that Harry caught them in a compromising situation because it wouldn't have made sense if none of these potential spies figured out that Ryan and Alex were acting shady.
The reveal that Alex and Ryan framed Harry was nicely done. It was unexpected, and you had to laugh at how clever they were. Plus, it was clear that Harry getting arrested, thus using his get out of jail free card, was the reason why he isn't a member of the CIA in the future.

Babies, babies were everywhere! Well, sort of.
It certainly was the theme they had going on in Grey's Anatomy Season 13 Episode 5. What with Amelia wondering whether or not she was pregnant, Owen spending the day babysitting sweet Harriet, and Chandler being unable to donate part of her liver to her twin Chelsea, because she was pregnant.
There certainly was some baby fever going around Grey Sloan Memorial!
Here's the thing. I love Amelia to pieces. She's a complicated character and she's been through so much. She can be a bit of an acquired taste, but I want nothing but good things for her.
That being said, it was absolutely absurd that they dragged out the "Is she?" or "Isn't she?" pregnancy storyline the entire episode! Something as simple as taking a pregnancy test didn't get resolved until the very end.
Have you peed on a stick yet? Because if you...

The newest hit is here! Dead of Summer Season 1 Episode 1 premiered with seven teenagers heading off to Camp Stillwater for the summer. But little do they know how terrifying their summer is going to be when spirits begin to reveal themselves around Stillwater's campus.

What is your first impression of the series?
Carissa: I like it. It's right up my alley. A bit of everything. My preference would be to have more nuances to the characters, but we really are all cliches, I suppose. I really grew up in the 80s, so feel free to ask me about life in the olden days. No, it most likely isn't painted with the brush you imagine.
Allison: I'm enjoying it as well.

Here we are, at the fifth and final night of Blind Auditions for The Voice season 9. Going into the final round, Team Adam, Team Gwen, Team Pharrell and Team Blake have 10 artists each. Two of those competing artists are actually duos, but we are going to refer to them in the singular for simplicity's sake going forward. In other words, Pharrell has 11 individuals on his team, but because two of those are a duo, we will say that he has only 10 artists, leaving him room for two more. Same goes for Adam. Make sense? During this final night of Blinds, Gwen, Blake, Pharrell and Adam will have to be prudent about which vocals they hit their buzzer for because they can only add two more artists each.

Night four of the Blind Auditions for The Voice featured the second duo act of season 9, along with many other talented solo artists. The coaches are starting to get more picky with who they'll turn their chairs for, but nine more spots were filled nonetheless.
BuddyTV spoke with those advancing artists during a conference call. Some of them discussed leaving their bands to become solo artists (or a duo, in the case of Andi and Alex) on The Voice. Viktor Kiraly explained why he's taking a big risk by leaving Hungary to do this show. And they described their experience of auditioning for The Voice -- which artist didn't understand what Gwen Stefani told him until he watched it on TV? Read on to find out.

If you’re even a semi-regular watcher of The Voice Blind Auditions, you probably know the five simple rules for ensuring a better, brighter viewing experience:
1. Don’t get attached to a contestant on the basis of his/her intro package alone — not even if she’s a sweet young woman from Coal City, Wv who tearfully tells the grandparents who raised her that her audition wouldn’t be possible without them.

"American Idol" returned on Wednesday (January 7) night to somewhat tepid ratings and with a one-hour episode that was almost entirely devoid of likely breakout talent. Fox posted the first episode online for critics and then wisely posted the second, which is airing tonight. The move was wise because, as you'll soon see, Thursday's episode is much, much better. There are three or four contestants who appeared on Thursday's episode and seem like plausible Finalists. So click through and follow along as I recap the highlights and lowlights. [Key Warning: It turned out yesterday that the Fox-provided screener for the premiere wasn't exactly what aired. It was mostly what aired, but apparently I saw some singing viewers didn't get. And vice versa. So take this recap, especially the time-code, with a grain of salt. Hopefully the people I liked will make it to air.] 00:00:00 Is it my screener or are we starting with some righteous "Inception"-style bass? I guess that adds some drama to the reminder that "Idol" makes stars and that it's about the kids, not gimmicks or judges. But really, it's making me believe that "Idol" is all about the bass. 00:02:00 We're beginning again in Nashville. The judges want to find a superstar.

John told the coaches he saw himself writing “cheesy love songs,” prompting Gwen to wave her hands in the air and say, “That’s me!” In the end, Blake’s early turn won John over. Does anyone else have an "Orange Is the New Black" hangover after this weekend? We rushed home to binge on Season 2 of the long-awaited return of the Netflix series on Friday, and boy were the 13 episodes of prison drama (laughs, too!) a doozy.

This afternoon, I did a strange thing. I retweeted Ryan Seacrest. But how could I not? Something happens tonight on Idol that I've never seen happen in all the years... #IdolTwist — Ryan Seacrest (@RyanSeacrest) May 1, 2014 I mean... Isn't your interest piqued? Mine sure is. The problem: What could he possibly be referring to that he could already know about? He could know that tonight's result is shocking, but he couldn't know how anybody might react. So could he just be referring to, I dunno, a particularly brazen Ford commercial? Or somebody random dueling with Keith Urban? Yup. After Ryan Seacrest's tweet, Thursday's (May 1) "American Idol" results show is sure to be disappointing. Way to raise expectations, Ryan! Full live-blog after the break... 9:00 p.m. Et. Carrying over the momentum from his tweet, Ryan Seacrest repeats that something unprecedented is coming and warns us that there is a "shocking twist.

Grey's Anatomy fans have been waiting not-so-patiently for the show's return on Thursday night. Who will April choose after Jackson's attempt to stop her wedding? How will the show change once we say goodbye to Sandra Oh's Dr. Yang? And will Alex and Jo last? We sat down with Camilla Luddington in La to get as much of a scoop as possible on where, exactly, the drama will pick up this Thursday night when it returns to ABC. Read on to hear more about the show's "dramatic" episodes ahead, straight from Dr. Wilson herself, and scroll to the end of the story to watch some highlights from our in-studio interview with Camilla. Popsugar: We left on a pretty big cliff-hanger. Is there anything you can reveal about Jackson, April, and the wedding aftermath? Carol Burnett's big month has involved a trip to Hawaii ... "Hawaii Five-0," more specifically.
The latest recipient of the Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, the show-business legend guest-stars in Friday's (Nov. 22) episode of the CBS crime drama as McGarrett's (Alex O'Loughlin) aunt. Her Thanksgiving visit to him and his sister Mary Ann (recurring guest Taryn Manning) isn't all pleasure, given a secret she eventually reveals.
"It went beautifully," the ever-friendly Burnett tells Zap2it of her "Five-0" stint. "I really love that crew. Everything I was doing this month, which was a lot, turned out to be great fun. I would lie awake at night with my mind spinning about each thing that was coming up, thinking, 'How am I gonna do this?' And it isn't worth it, because everything was fine. It all worked out."
Burnett describes McGarrett's Aunt Deb as "a good person.

‘The X Factor’ really does have the x-factor; it’s got the most un-groomed, undeveloped talent of all its competitors — and watching the contestants’ performances, and their families’ reactions, makes it the most emotionally-gripping show on TV today.

Watching nondescript-looking Long Islander Simone , 19, in her T-shirt and lavender jeans, break into a deeply-soulful rendition of “Mustang Sally” was the kind of surprise that makes the show must-see TV.
Simone Torres Belts Shocking Vocals
There was just no hint that That voice and intense emotion resided in that young body.

‘The X Factor’ returned for a super-sized premiere event, and without getting to ahead of myself, I think we might have already met this year’s winner.
The X Factor‘s two-night season premiere continued Sept. 12, and although the second night didn’t have quite as many sexy grandmas as the first, it was still bursting with talent. In fact, it featured what Simon Cowell called the best auditions he’s ever seen on the show — including one young gentleman from Long Island who might just be the next Justin Bieber. Only taller and less Canadian.
Denver Auditions: A Mixed Bag Of Emotions
The first “yes” went to Riley Brown, 15, who performed ‘her’ version of Zedd‘s “Clarity.” She was pretty shaky at first, but then she got better, even to the point where Demi Lovato started to tear up. “I absolutely love you,” Simon told a super-excited Riley,...

Here we go again Britain's Got Talent fans! In the fourth and penultimate live semi-final, nine more acts will take to the stage hoping to impress the judges and the voting public for the chance to add the coveted title of "Bgt finalist" to their CV/Twitter bio.
Tonight's acts include an impressionist, a magician, a self-confessed diva (no, we don't mean David) and it wouldn't be a Britain's Got Talent semi-final without an obligatory dance troupe or two.
So, put the kettle on, break open the hobnobs and join Digital Spy from 7.30pm when the excitement begins on ITV.
21:02Well, that's your lot guys! Thanks for keeping DS company during the show, and what an all-singing, all-dancing show it was! Just enough time for a cuppa before we find out who the lucky two finalists will be in the results show at 9.30pm. Simon Cowell's been recycling...

Sytycd‘s Los Angeles and Austin auditions were full of enlightening, revelatory performers (and their children, in some cases). We learned so much that we could forgive the strange, not-completely-justified inclusion of guest judge Minnie Driver, who wouldn’t be my first choice in Best Supporting Actress nominees to judge these dancers. (Bring me Lauren Bacall, dammit!) I did chuckle when Minnie claimed her hotel was haunted. Because Minnie really believed it. And that’s a funny, zany thing to think, my dear.
Here are the five greatest performers from the two-hour extravaganza. The first one here wasn’t an official auditioner, but I think you’ll agree it deserves a plane ticket to Vegas or some other isolated desert land.
5. Mary’s Hair, the most dynamic dancer of the evening

Welcome back to TV Fanatic's Grey's Anatomy Round Table!
Our Grey's Anatomy review broke down "Hard Bargain" in great detail. Now, Tvf's Sean McKenna, Christina Tran and Steve Marsi are back for a Q&A discussion of many of the episode's events.
Read their answers below and weigh in with yours!
----------------------------------------
1. What was your favorite quote or scene from the episode?
Christina: I liked learning that Ross was responsible for defacing McDreamy's lovely wall decor... and especially that he put him up to it.
Sean: I gotta say the whole defacing was hilarious. That and Derek really getting some conflict in his story line. It's nice to see he's getting more to do these days.
Steve: Clean sweep for the defacing of Derek's face. From the moment he first laid eyes on himself in that way, he was hilariously uncomfortable, and the whole thing just got funnier from there.

The most valuable lesson we learned from last night's Girls Only competition on American Idol was that Gotye is no one's friend. The evening's competition consisted of a sudden-death a cappella performance, followed by the dreaded group round. In short, it was just like boys week, but slightly higher pitched. However, Ryan Seacrest warned that there would be "massive cuts," because there were more girls than guys.

Vdvo: Mystic Falls. Thousand years. Vampires, werewolves, Doppelgangers, witches, even hybrids. Check, check, check.
Flashback to A.D. 1110. A witch stands in a forest clearing surrounded by five beefy boys. She chants in fractured Latin and brandishes a flaming cauldron.
As lightning strikes the cauldron, the beefy boys thrust their swords into the earth. Lines of fire spread out to connect them and as they raise their flaming swords, tattoos begin spreading across their bodies.
Mystic Falls, present day. Damon searches through some of Connor's stuff from the Grimm trailer, hoping to find a “supernatural handbook”. Not sure it's going to be hidden in the beaker holder, Damon. He recaps last week's action and name-drops the Five. Stefan's not familiar.
Damon fields a call from Sheriff Liz; the news is disquieting. Damon first jackassedly refuses to say what it is because the boys are fighting,...

Beverly Hills, Calif. — "We got lucky. We clicked," said Adam Pally, one of the half-dozen stars of "Happy Endings," ABC's comedy about six friends being funny in Chicago. "We're all playful and don't take anything too seriously. The six of us are troublemakers!"
"It's very much a team," Elisha Cuthbert chimed in, "and I think that comes across on camera. We just really care about the well-being of our show and each other."
Isn't there even one member of the cast Cuthbert doesn't like?
"I don't like any of them," she answered, deadpan.
"It's a combination of like minds," said Damon Wayans Jr. "We spend so much time with each other, it's like we became a family."
Wayans plays Brad, the metrosexual exec who, as this third "Happy" season begins (Tuesday at 9 p.m. Edt), has been laid off from his job. Or so thinks Jane (Eliza Coupe), Brad's whippet-slim,...

Lisa Whelchel, it's been real, but your stint on Survivor: Philippines is already disappointing. You've brought none of Blair Warner's flair to the proceedings, and you prove your Survivor cred is lacking with quotes like, "I can only play with the cards I've been given!" Guess who doesn't leave their fate up to the "cards" dealt by other players? People like Parvati Shallow. Russell Hantz. You know, Survivor super-champs.
Thus, it's time to think about which sitcom legends should join Survivor next. I love seeing TV stars of yore regain screentime, so this is a perfect opportunity to highlight other greats who 1) could slip by without the other contestants recognizing them, 2) are cooler than the anti-gay Whelchel, and 3) would be, uh, interesting. Here are our seven best options.
1. Dawn Wells (Gilligan's Island)
This is my most controversial choice because Wells is both 73 and still very recognizable, but come On. Her...

It was a family-fun night over at ABC, as we got a double dose of America's favorite comedy (read my review here of "Schooled.") In the second episode of Modern Family Phil prepared to get a little "Snip."
After Jay and Gloria's unplanned pregnancy, Phil and Claire decided they should take some precautions if they didn't want a surprise of their own. Also because Phil thinks it will allow for some more "freestyling in the boudoir."
Everyone was a little unsure of his/her path in this episode. Claire and Phil had themselves convinced they were done having children, but of course they weren't 100 percent.
Sure, Phil was afraid that it would hurt, especially when that other guy limped out almost in tears. Isn't there a recovery room? For Claire, even though her kids were a total pain all day, all it took was one heartwarming moment of Haley and...

"Happy Endings" finally returns Oct. 23! The premiere, "Cazsh Dummy Spillionaires," features a number of special guests -- including Matthew Del Negro as Kent, Penny's (Casey Wilson) physical therapist, and the return of Brian Austin Green as her wedding "date," Chris -- but the most special guest of all is definitely Damon Wayans Jr.
What's that you say? Isn't Damon Wayans Jr. a star of the show? Why yes, as a matter of fact he is, but he's also billed as a guest star for playing "Sinbrad," Brad's ventriloquist dummy. (Who rocks the high-top fade.)
The Season 3 premiere also features Penny in a full-body cast (thanks to the thrill-seeking Chris), getting some Kathy Bates-style caretaking from her Bff Max so that the gorgeous Kent will stick around.
The "cazsh" in the title refers to Dave (Zachary Knighton) and Alex's (Elisha Cuthbert) relationship status -- at least that's what the...
