CBS did not air a new season of The Amazing Race during the spring of 2023, leaving fans wondering when the next race would premiere. Unfortunately, there is no news regarding the premiere date of season 35. All we can do is speculate about the upcoming competition, including whether or not it will feature returning teams.

Whether you love them or wish they'd stop talking about Dave's age, his Achilles and the evils of Brendon & Rachel, you can't deny that Dave & Connor were deserving winners for this "Amazing Race: All-Stars" season. After having to self-eliminate from their first season after Dave's injury, the father-son team won a whopping six Legs -- they'll be taking tropical vacations together for years to come -- and never really faced any serious jeopardy. Did they do anything impressive in that Final Leg to win? Not really. But they got to Phil Keoghan first and that's all that matters. In the process, they became the first parent-child team to win "The Amazing Race" and Dave, as he mentioned so frequently, became the oldest individual winner. In their exit interview, which finally concludes my spring reality exit interviews, Dave & Connor discuss their comfortable "Amazing Race" triumph, Dave talks about his age and...

For a fleeting second in last week's "Amazing Race: All-Stars" finale, Country Blondes Jennifer & Caroline seemed to have the million dollar prize in the sights. After Dave & Connor had a brief cab misadventure, Jen & Caroline's all-world cabbie had them in the lead heading toward the season-closing Roadblock. Then, of course, Dave & Connor's cab moved back into the lead and that was all it took to win the season, since the last Roadblock and, therefore the entire "Amazing Race: All-Stars" season, was determined based on which team reached that last clue-box in first. Oh well. It was another eventful season for Jen & Caroline, who won some fans with their plucky attitude, enthusiasm and humor, but lost other fans when they coined the term "Accidental Alliance" to describe the multi-team partnership that sprung up only to exclude Brendon & Rachel. And, along the way, Jen & Caroline continued to do what they do most...

Does anybody still remember the "Amazing Race: All-Stars" finale? My apologies. I'm apologizing both for how long it took me to get to these exit interviews -- Last week was a bear -- but really I'm apologizing because you still remember what was almost certainly the dullest finale in the 24-season history of the Emmy-winning juggernaut. Brendon & Rachel probably haven't forgotten the finale. That's because they made it all the way to the last Leg of "The Amazing Race" for the second time and, once again, finished in third. And this time, they didn't really do anything wrong. They got a bad cab driver. Yes, they got a little bit lost wandering around the Mirage in Las Vegas, but they were already behind the other two teams entirely because of their cabbie in a Leg that didn't feature a single challenge that allowed teams to wreath themselves in any glory at all.

Once again, it was so close and yet so far for Leo & Jamal. For the second straight season, the Afghanimals made the "Amazing Race" Top 4 and, for the second straight season, they fell just short of the finale. Other than the consecutive fourth place finishes, though, this was a very different season for Leo & Jamal. Last season, they were consistently marked men, targeted by other teams for their seemingly pointless little lies and manipulations, accusations that were probably overblown, but still detracted from the Afghanimal's consistent joy and enthusiasm at every turn. This season, Leo & Jamal announced immediately that they didn't want to be viewed the same way and, indeed, they were more earnest and helpful throughout and, perhaps as a result, not only did their rivals not target them, but they were welcomed into alliances. After going out last season following a frustrating Roadblock for Leo, this season's elimination...

"Amazing Race" host Phil Keoghan really wants to do an "Amazing Race" reunion. I mention this, because in the two times I've talked to Keoghan in the past couple years, that is the only repeated point. "Survivor" has reunions after each season and Keoghan would like "The Amazing Race" to follow suit. Keoghan and I got on the phone last week to discuss the upcoming conclusion to "The Amazing Race: All-Stars," a season that is heading towards its conclusion on Sunday (May 18) night with Jen & Caroline, Brendon & Rachel and Dave & Connor still in the running for the big prize. We talked about the biggest story lines surrounding each of the remaining teams. Is Dave's quest to become the oldest "Amazing Race" winner a notable one? Are Brendon & Rachel capable of actually being underdogs? And should we be dismissive of the Country Blondes because of the amount of assistance they've gotten from other teams?...

Where have all the Cowboys gone? Well, on last week's "Amazing Race: All-Stars," they were U-Turned by Afghanimals Leo & Jamal, forcing them to perform a second Detour in Seville and effectively eliminating Jet & Cord for the third time on the CBS reality favorite. With their high spirits, stubborn independence and frequently faulty sense of direction, Cowboys Jet & Cord have long been favorites for "Amazing Race" fans and this latest season was no different. As the other teams bonded and bickered, the Cowboys continued to be Lone Rangers and, as usual, that worked out pretty well for them. Jet & Cord won the season's first Leg (and promptly handed over their second Express Pass to Jen & Caroline who, miraculously, remain in the Race) and added one first and four second place finishes. That put a big target on them, which is why Leo & Jamal U-Turned them, rather than sticking with their...

As I interview The Globetrotters, they're doing what they do best: Trotting the globe. Nate "Big Easy" Lofton and Herb "Flight Time" Lang were eliminated from "The Amazing Race" All-Stars" on last Sunday's episode. It was the third time they've been on "The Amazing Race" and the third time they've gone home without winning, which you'd think would sting for a pair of basketball players who, by nature of their professional affiliation, never lose. Actually, you probably wouldn't think that if you've paid attention to Flight Time & Big Easy, who have earned the right to compete thrice on "Amazing Race" by virtue of their unflagging enthusiasm and their eagerness to entertain both viewers at home and every passer-by at every international location. Flight Time & Big Easy like to make people smile when they're on "The Amazing Race" and when they're not being followed by CBS cameras, they're usually still on the road making people smile.

The third time around the world was not the charm for Flight Time and Big Easy. The Harlem Globetrotters got the boot on Sunday's Amazing Race All-Stars after having navigation trouble and switching Detours twice — but you can sort of blame one stubborn donkey for that. "It wouldn't move!" Big Easy tells TVGuide.com. "What can you do? At that point, we had to switch." They didn't have much luck at the donkey-building Detour though, unaware that they had to put a cart on top of it to get the green light, before they went back to the donkey-riding. How much time did they lose? Find out below. Plus: Get their thoughts on last week's wild finish.

There isn't a ton of blame to toss around at teams on the eighth leg of The Amazing Race: All-Stars, unless you want to get on David and Connor for seeming to forget that the competition was made up of six teams and not just one giant one.
Sure, there were some questionable decisions made, but at the end of the day, the general ineptitude of the Globetrotters overshadowed any minor little screw-ups the other teams committed. It didn't have to be that way, though, as the father-son duo basically held the hands of the country singers and the Afghanimals through all the challenges and sealed Flight Time and Big Easy's fate. Not that they would've noticed.

I don't know if you've heard me mention this lately, but I hate the Double U-Turn. I say the same thing every season. I debated it with executive producer Elise Doganieri, who smiled and ignored me. If you get to the U-Turn and discover you've been U-Turned, you should be bounced directly to the other side of the Detour. When you get sent directly to jail in Monopoly, you've been sent Directly To Jail. You don't get to collect the $200 if you happen to pass Go, because it occurred in the process of the act that was sending you to Jail. The second the card says "Go to Jail," you've been boomeranged on your way to Jail. Period. Full stop. If you hit the U-Turn mat and you've been U-Turned... Boing. Off to the other Detour with you. The first act is to step on the mat and see if you've been U-Turned.

Tonight's show, kicked off with the teams learning they had to go to another area of Italy to get the first clue for this leg of the race. Once they got the first clue, they ran into their detours: "Donkey Run," or "Donkey Build." In the "Donkey Run" detour, the teams had to race a donkey around a track for three laps before the band stopped playing music to get their next clue. In the "Donkey Build" detour, they had to correctly assemble a wooden donkey and deliver it to the correct location to get their next clue. Also, a double U-Turn was introduced ,and Brendon & Rachel used one of them on Dave & Connor. The U-Turn forces the receiving team to have to do both the detours in order to move on in the race. Well, at least things worked out better for Jessica Hoel and John Erck in their second run on "The Amazing Race." A little better, at least. In their first season, John & Jessica won the season's opening Leg and earned an Express Pass. Then, just a couple episodes later, they were eliminated with the Express Pass still in their back pocket after refusing to play the powerful Pass in a challenge where they remained convinced there were teams behind them long after they'd fallen into last place. It was one of the more notorious pieces of self-immolation in "Amazing Race" history and that was probably what earned John & Jessica a second chance on "The Amazing Race: All-Stars." This second run lacked the highs of that season-opening Leg victory, but they also lasted deeper into the Race and, when they went out, they were theoretically able to point the blame away from themselves.

John and Jessica had an unhappy Roman holiday on Sunday's Amazing Race All-Stars. After leaving the Detour first, the couple had taxi trouble and arrived last to the Roadblock at Rome's Spanish Steps. Fortunately, the Globetrotters and the Afghanimals were still there, and Jamal shared the answer with John and Flight Time, thinking there was still another team behind them. Unfortunately, there wasn't, and because John had to get a new postcard to write down the answer, the Season 22 alums were eliminated. "Yeah, I shouldn't have asked them [to tell us the answer]," Jessica tells TVGuide.com with a laugh. "I was a little surprised they did, but at the time none of us thought we were fighting for last."So why did they think Caroline and Jen were behind them? Every once in a while, I like for somebody on "The Amazing Race" to really impress me. And I'm easily impressed. When the Hockey Brothers were throwing casks over their shoulders and running up hills? That impressed me. Heck, when Mark put together that car with the instructions in a language he couldn't understand? That impressed me. Sunday (April 13) night's confusing episode of "The Amazing Race" offered a low bar for achievement: I wanted somebody to know Roman Numerals. For what it's worth, *I* don't know Roman Numerals. Well, I know some Roman Numerals, but usually I know them if I can work backwards to some degree. Like if I'm looking at a motion picture copyright date, I usually have a vague sense of when the movie was released and I can figure out the actual date from that. So when it comes to Roman Numerals, I don't impress myself,...

If you ask me for a preference between Country Blondes Jennifer and Caroline, I'll always go with punchy, pint-sized Caroline, she of the reliable zingers and ace comic timing. But Jennifer had the smartest observation in Sunday (March 30) night's "Amazing Race." Musing on why this season has been difficult, Jennifer noted, "Nobody makes mistakes." That's not exactly true. Natalie & Nadiya couldn't find a wedding dress shop in China over several hours and they went home. Mark & Mallory went back to get Mark's bag and they went home. Joey & Meghan didn't tell their driver to stay at a Roadblock and they went home. And last week, Margie & Luke couldn't get tickets for a good flight leaving Kuala Lumpur and they went home. Sunday (March 23) night's installment of "The Amazing Race" came down to one decision made in the first 15 minutes of the episode. I'm not saying there was a "right" answer or a "wrong" answer in the moment, but the choice was made early and once it was made -- incorrectly, as it turned out -- there was nothing left to the episode and what followed was a 45-minute anti-climax. That's too bad, because this was perhaps the first episode of the season that was well-structured in terms of Detours and Roadblocks, featuring difficult tasks that had the chance to shake things up in terms of team placement. I write "had the chance to," because they didn't. This week's Top 4 was last week's Top 4. And last week's Top 4 was 3/4ths of the previous week's Top 4. We've had five Legs so far, which means 20 Top 4 finishes. The teams now in the Top 4 have *15* of those finishes.

I suppose that certain factors on "The Amazing Race" are out of the control of the producers. If your teams are in China and you're determined to get them to Malaysian Borneo, if there are only two evening flights, there are only two evening flights. And if there's a three-hour gap between the arrival of the two flights, then there's a three-hour gap between the arrival of the two flights. And if there are only six tickets available on the first flight or perhaps only three tickets available on the second, then that's just what it is. But if you then design a Leg in which the Roadblock is a straight-forward one-at-a-time task and the Detour includes at least one option that requires basically no effort at all, you've constructed a Leg in which six teams have almost limitless margins-for-error and the other three teams have no margin-for-error at all...

Doing "The Amazing Race" with somebody you know and love certainly doesn't mean you're going to get along. Duh. Will the second time again be the charm for Rachel Reilly?
It took two tries for Reilly to win Big Brother, and now, after coming up short on The Amazing Race in 2012, Reilly and husband Brendon Villegas are getting another chance at racing around the world on the new all-star edition of the CBS reality show.
"We were ecstatic to be asked back," Reilly tells People. "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity that we have been lucky enough to do twice!"

Bad taxi luck struck Gary and Mallory Ervin at the worst time on The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business — on the last leg, and they couldn't do anything about it. "Once we pulled out of the airport, there was no going back. We were married to [our cabbie] Sterling for better or worse," Gary tells TVGuide.com. "We went to remote locations, so we couldn't change cabs." Despite that, the father and daughter made up major time on Kisha and Jen, and Flight Time and Big Easy at the trailer task and are happy they got to go out racing hard.

The final Amazing Race: Unfinished Business task — assembling a trailer park — was all about the details, and unfortunately for Herb "Flight Time" Lang and Nate "Big Easy" Lofton, they glossed over one that cost them the $1 million. "I think we could've been there longer if we didn't [look at Kisha and Jen's table setting]," Big Easy tells TVGuide.com. "It was about the small details. With the wind blowing everything, it was just something that we missed." The Harlem Globetrotters are, however, happy to "finish strong" and complete all 12 legs. See what else they have to say about their time on the Race, sharing answers, and get their side on Gnome-gate.

['The Amazing Race' - 'This Is Where It Ends (Brazil and Florida)']
Last night was the two-hour finale of 'The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business.' In that span we went from four contestants to one winner, but who would it be? Based on your votes in our poll last week, you gave the edge to the likable Gary & Mallory, followed by Zev & Justin and Flight Time & Big Easy. These three teams were within 100 votes of each other.
Apparently, none of you thought Kisha and Jen stood a chance, giving them barely a third of the votes the other teams got. It doesn't look like the sisters were very popular.

After five continents, 23 cities, 40,000 miles, some ridiculous kangaroo suits, plates of greasy wiener schnitzel, and Kent’s unbelievably terrifying eyebrows, The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business reached its conclusion Sunday night with an intermittently tense, occasionally emotional finale.
The opening hour took the competitors from Switzerland to Rio de Janeiro, where the field was winnowed down from four teams to three. The leg started out poorly for Flight Time and Big Easy, who missed a train connection thanks to a sluggish cab driver, giving a 30-minute head start to the three remaining teams. But things quickly went Cape Horn-level south for...

Great cast, great beginning, slow ending.
Compared to the previous seventeen seasons, this was probably the best season we’ve ever seen. Teams like Flight Time and Big Easy, Jet and Cord, Zev and Justin and Gary and Mallory carried the show. Watching them race was high entertainment from start to finish.
Unlike Survivor, however, The Amazing Race is as much a product of the course that is laid out as it is of the people who race it. No matter how entertaining the people are, if the course is not dynamic, there’s only so much the racers can do.
The start of The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business was chock full of dynamic challenges, interesting legs and surprises. As the number of teams got whittled down, the legs became less creative. By the second hour of the finale, the last leg of the race, we watched a leg where...

Here is Sean Furfaro's recap of the Season Finale of The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business.
The Season Finale of the Amazing Race Unfinished Business is in the books, and which of the four remaning second-chance teams took home the million dollar prize? Let's find out...
My Random Thoughts:
- Previously on The Amazing Race, a reminder of the demise of each of the remaining four teams in their original seasons, and a recap of the 7 teams eliminated so far this season, who will all be relegated to lining the finish line and applauding as if they care who wins. But, at least I got to see the footage of Luke melting down at the tea challenge once again, and that makes me happy. I wonder what he got Margie for Mother’s Day, clearly the most important day of the year for these two…I picture it as kind of...

"The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business" has crowned Kisha and Jen as the winners. On the episode aired on Mother's Day (Sunday, May 8), it was revealed that the sisters completed the final leg first and won $1 million which they will use to help their mom out.
The race started off with the four teams departing from Switzerland to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There, they faced Road Block where one team member must learn to dance samba. Dressing in carnival costumes, they later led a parade.
Mallory was the first to finish the Road Block. She and Gary then headed to Copacabana. Meanwhile, Zev was struggling with the dance and had to learn the dance three times until he nailed it. At that time, Gary and Mallory had already discovered the next clue. All team members must endure 15 minutes of a Brazilian Waxing session.
After getting waxed, the teams must choose between...

Sixteen seasons without an all-female team winning "The Amazing Race" and now twice in two seasons it's been done, as sisters Jen and Kisha took home the million dollar prize from "Unfinished Business," just a season after Nat and Kat won Season 17. Jen and Kisha are, of course, the first team of sisters to win. This is the first leg they won the entire race.
It's apropos their victory aired on Mother's Day, as they are going to use the money to help their mom out. But let's see how we got there ...
The final 3 came down to sisters Jen/Kisha, Globetrotters Flight Time and Big Easy and father/daughter Gary and Mallory. The fourth-place team was Justin and Zev, who chose poorly on the Detour in Brazil and just couldn't make up the time.

The final episode, which begins at 8/7c on CBS, will see the teams leaving Switzerland for Brazil, before eventually returning to the familiar shores of the Us. The network has already teased that one of the final challenges will have the racers "[crying] out in pain" as they endure a wax on their final leg in the race around the world to win $$1 million. This season's Amazing Race, hosted by Phil Keoghan, featured eleven fan favourite teams returning for a second chance at the grand prize. Only four teams remain on The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business. I can't believe it! Zev and Justin, Kisha and Jen, Gary and Mallory, and Flight Time and Big Easy have made it to the final four. Will this finale end in a lot of traffic like finales past? I feel like they're always stuck in traffic.

After a Travelocity product placement ("Where should we go on our trip, Big Easy?" "This looks amazing!"), the teams get a clue sending them to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. This is the leg that both the Globetrotters and Kisha and Jen were eliminated from in their original seasons. Zev and Justin just need to remember their passports, and Gary and Mallory can't get lost for nine hours. The Globetrotters and Zev and Justin find a flight that gets in at 7:30am, and Kisha and Jen and Gary and Mallory are on...
