Keep reading to find out more…While speaking to Rolling Stone, Cassadee attributed the decision in part to the sexism she has experienced in the world of country music and the genre’s lack of widespread progressive politics.
“I realize every genre has problematic people in it,” Cassadee shared. “I’m not saying there’s not a frontman in a band who hasn’t been accused of something in rock music. But I guess rock is in my bones more. You’re not completely ostracized and shamed for speaking out.”

The folder had been sitting unopened on Cassadee Pope’s computer desktop for years when she finally deleted it. It was a collection of photographs taken with mostly male country-radio programmers whom she’d been expected to suck up to, snapped every time she went to a station to promote her music or hosted a meet-and-greet backstage at a concert. As soon as she got home, she’d print them out, sign them, and mail them off with a little note.

If “The Voice” had a Mount Rushmore of coaches, three of the faces carved into its granite would no doubt be Niall Horan, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson. Why? Because as of the Season 24 finale on December 19, they are the only coaches to have won two seasons in a row. That’s quite an impressive feat, especially considering the immense amount of talent that has graced the NBC reality TV show since its debut in 2011. See the updated “The Voice” winners list.
Niall joined the esteemed list on Tuesday night when Huntley, his 33-year-old artist from Fredericksburg, Virginia, won Season 24 over runner-up Ruby Leigh of Team Reba McEntire. That gave Niall back-to-back victories because he also prevailed in Season 23 with Illinois pop singer Gina Miles, who bested runner-up Grace West of Team Blake. Since Niall isn’t returning in the spring for Season 25, that means he will remain undefeated for the time being.

If you were hoping to see Blake Shelton make his grand return to “The Voice” by performing in the Season 24 finale, you’d be sorely mistaken.
NBC has announced the A-list performer lineup for next week’s finale and the country superstar — who coached on the reality TV show from Seasons 1 to 23 — is nowhere to be found. Instead, Blake’s final winner ever, Season 22’s Bryce Leatherwood, will perform on the big stage. And he’ll be joined by Earth, Wind & Fire, Keith Urban, Ajr, Jelly Roll and Tyla, plus upcoming Season 25 coaches Dan + Shay.

Over the last few years, the Gulf Coast Jam, a multi-day concert blowout held every spring in Panama City Beach, Florida, has become one of country music’s leading festivals, pulling in headliners like Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, and Kenny Chesney. A female shooter wielding two “assault-style” rifles and a pistol killed three students and three adults at a private Christian school in Nashville on Monday in what marks the latest in a series of mass shootings in the U.S.
The suspect also died after being shot by police following the violence at The Covenant School, a Presbyterian school for about 200 students from preschool through sixth grade. Police said the shooter was a 28-year-old woman from Nashville, after initially saying she appeared to be in her teens. Authorities were working to identify her and whether she had a connection to the school.
President Joe Biden called on Congress again to pass his assault weapons ban in the wake of the Nashville shooting.

Season 23 will mark the end of an era for “The Voice.” Blake Shelton, the only coach to participate in every cycle since the reality TV competition began in 2011, will say goodbye. Martinez has built a successful career in the music industry, but she might not be where she is today without The Voice, where she got her start. Things are getting rather emotional on “The Voice” this season, as original coach Blake Shelton is gearing up for his final run. After sitting out last year, Kelly Clarkson has returned to the judging panel in Season 23 to send off Blake in proper style, and they’re joined by new coaches Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper. “Blake is killin’ it his last season,” Kelly stated at the end of the fourth episode. “I suspected that would happen. Don’t tell him I said this, but he’s the king of ‘The Voice.’ So it’s gonna be really weird that he’s not here. He will be missed by everyone.”
As of this writing, Blake has one of the strongest rosters of this Spring 2023 cycle, thanks in part to his being able to pitch to aspiring singers that they could be a part of his historic last team as he’s leaving “The Voice.

Texas country-punk band Vandoliers are standing in solidarity with drag performers and the LGBTQ+ community. As the only coach who’s been with “The Voice” since day one, Blake Shelton understandably has more victories than anyone else. But that still doesn’t take away from the fact that he just won his 9th championship out of 22 seasons thanks to young country artist Bryce Leatherwood. (See the updated “The Voice” winners list.)
Season 22 ended on Tuesday night with Bryce Leatherwood, the 22-year-old from Woodstock, Georgia, claiming victory over runner-up Bodie (also Team Blake) and third place contender Morgan Myles (Team Camila Cabello). In addition, Omar Jose Cardona (Team John Legend) placed fourth and Brayden Lape (again from Team Blake) came in fifth. Blake’s wife, Gwen Stefani, did not have a finalist in contention.

Jason Aldean’s fans booed Maren Morris during his recent show in Nashville.
The country crooner was performing at the Bridgestone Arena when he mentioned that he’d been wondering which friend to invite up on stage to perform with him.
Aldean told the crowd, “I thought, ‘Man, who can I call?’
“I got some friends in town. I could call Luke Bryan. I could call Kane Brown. See if Kenny Chesney’s here and not at the beach.”
The crowd cheered for each name until Aldean said, “Maren Morris,” which elicited a negative response. As the jeers continued, Aldean pretended to look confused by the reaction.

Maren Morris just launched a new T-shirt in support of trans rights groups, especially LGBTQ youth.
Earlier this month, the country superstar raised over 150,000 for transgender awareness after designing a T-shirt inspired by her recent comments amid her feud with Brittany Aldean. Now, Morris teamed up with GLAAD, the world’s largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization, to design a new shirt in an effort to raise awareness for the group’s upcoming anti-lgbtq youth bullying initiative #SpiritDay.
In a new interview with GLAAD’s Anthony Allen Ramos, Morris shared that, at first, putting “lunatic country music person” on a T-shirt felt “so silly” but it was in effort to raise awareness for LGBTQ youth after she was called a “lunatic” for defending trans youth on social media. It quickly turned into something positive because all of the proceeds she raised went directly to charity — GLAAD’s Transgender Media Program and Trans LifeLine.

Maren Morris is nominated for Album of the Year at the 2022 Country Music Association Awards for “Humble Quest,” but she may not attend the event. “I’m very honored that my record is nominated. But I don’t know if I feel [at] home there right now,” she explained to the Los Angeles Times. That follows blowback from Morris speaking out on social media against transphobic comments by Brittany Aldean, the wife of right-wing country star Jason Aldean.
Brittany Aldean posted on Instagram, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase,” suggesting that being transgender is a phase (it’s not) and that trans youth receive irreversible treatments (they don’t). Singer Cassadee Pope criticized her on Twitter, and Morris followed by saying about Aldean, “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it,...

Maren Morris has revealed that she doesn’t feel “comfortable” attending the CMA Awards this year and is possibly skipping the event altogether. The country singer is nominated for album of the year with Humble Quest but may avoid the award show following her feud with Jason Aldean’s wife, social media influencer Brittany Aldean.

Going sleeveless, the mom of two drew attention to her tiny waist. Her post summed up tour moments and included her husband chilling out on a couch with snacks. Brittany made sure to include tender moments with her kids.

Mya Byrne’s new song “Autumn Sun” was written as soon as the smoke cleared, literally. The California singer-songwriter was on the porch at home in Berkeley with her friends in the aftermath of the destructive and deadly California wildfires in 2018, sipping coffee and enjoying nature.
“It was the first day we could be out,” Byrne says. “We all noticed a shift in the light and talked about it; I wrote the first few lines in my phone.”
“Different shade of morning, autumn sun/Sky quilted ocean with the clouds hung,...

Maren Morris has turned an insult from Tucker Carlson into an opportunity to raise funds that help people in the transgender community. The Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter got into the Fox News host’s radar after an online feud with digital influencer Brittany Aldean, wife of country singer Jason Aldean.
Brittany shared a video on Instagram where she showcased herself before and after getting her makeup and hair done. Although the video is not controversial, it was the caption that landed her in hot water.
“I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life,” she posted.
The Voice alum Cassadee Pope alluded to Brittany’s social media post and tweeted the following: “You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging. But instead here we are,...

Tucker Carlson inadvertently helped singer-songwriter Maren Morris raise over 100,000 for trans rights groups after he called her a “lunatic country music person” on Thursday night.
On Friday afternoon, the Grammy-winning singer launched a T-shirt that reads “Maren Morris: Lunatic Country Music Person,” followed by the phone number for the Trans Lifeline hotline. All sales proceeds are to be split between the Trans Lifeline and GLAAD’s Transgender Media Program. Morris announced via Instagram stories that the shirts had raised 63,000 and went on to exceed more than 100,000 in just 15 hours.
Carlson’s insult stems from Morris’ ongoing feud with Brittany Aldean, the wife of country star Jason Aldean. On Aug. 23, Aldean posted a video of herself doing her makeup, accompanied by the caption “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase.”

Maren Morris is wearing the “lunatic” label as a badge of honour. So much so, the country star’s launching a t-shirt line with the Tucker Carlson-inspired moniker, with all proceeds benefiting trans rights groups.
The “Circles Around This Town” singer took to Instagram on Friday and posted a photo of a black T-shirt with the words “Maren Morris Lunatic Country Music Person” and the phone number “877-565-8860.” That number directs callers to Trans Line Life, a non-profit organization that offers emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis.
Trans Line Life is also one of the two organizations that’ll benefit from sales of Morris’ new merch. GLAAD’s Transgender Media Program is the other beneficiary. The program aims to work with the media to fairly and accurately tell the stories of transgender lives.
The move comes one day after Brittany Aldean — who also has her own...
