Chennai, May 4: A film is not a one-man show, but the output of a team and, therefore, it's important to compromise wherever needed, says first time director R.S. Durai Senthil Kumar, whose debut Tamil film "Ethir Neechal", released recently.
"It's easy to get carried away after you don the hat of a director. But, a film is not a one-man show, it's a team effort and, therefore, it's important to compromise especially as a debutant to work in unison towards a common goal," Senthil told Ians.
"I'm sure every debutant director would have come across the need to compromise while working on his or her film. Those who co-operated would have evolved successfully, while the rest may have become history," he added.

Film: "Ethir Neechal"; Cast: Sivakarthikeyan, Nandita, Priya Anand, Jayaprakash, Ravi Prakash, Suza Kumar, Manobala, Dhanush and Nayantara; Director: Durai Senthil Kumar; Rating: ***
"Ethir Neechal" is one of those films where the first and second halves are vaguely connected. The film oscillates between a cliched romantic-comedy and a sports movie at regular intervals only to appear like an inspired version of Simon Pegg's "Run, Fatboy, Run".
The first half of the story revolves around college going Sivakarthikeyan, who is always ridiculed by his friends for his funny sounding name. Tired of always being mocked at, he decides to choose a different moniker with the hope that things would be better.
Guess what, life.
