Endemol Shine Australia’s Emmy and Aacta award-winning Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds will return to the ABC for a second season April 6, 8.30pm on ABC TV and iview.
Narrated by Annabel Crabb, the new season sees a flip on the intergenerational experiment, with a new group of older Australians to join a bunch of lively 4-year-olds, in a purpose-built pre-school, for fun, games, learning and friendship. The executive producer is Debbie Cuell and series producer Bethan Arwell-Lewis.
Unlike last season, the group of seniors all live in their own homes (as opposed to an age care facility). Like the 1.6 million Australians over the age of 65 who live alone at home, participants find themselves at the crossroads of wanting to live in their own homes but needing help to remain healthy and happy enough to stay there.

‘Reputation Rehab.’
Two years ago writers-producers Sophie Braham and Melina Wicks had the idea of a show which tackled ‘outrage culture,’ the ugly phenomenon of public figures being pilloried in Tweets and media headlines for real or imagined mistakes.
Together with Cjz’s Nick Murray, they pitched the idea to the ABC, which agreed to fund the development of Reputation Rehab.
Presented by Kirsten Drysdale and Zoe Norton Lodge, who are co-writing and co-producing with Braham and Wicks, the eight-part show premieres at 9.05 pm on October 28 and could not be more topical, according to Nick Hayden.
“It’s a show about shaming, the outrage in the media cycle and the audience’s involvement in how that cycle perpetuates itself,” says Hayden, who was promoted earlier this month to ABC head of entertainment from entertainment manager.

ABC's Annabel Crabb; The Australian's Stephen Brook
Twitter could go the way of Cb radios and die off, Stephen Brook, media editor of the Australian has said.
The comment came from Brook at the Mumbrella360 conference in a session about the relationship between Twitter and journalism.
The session also included The ABC’s Annabel Crabb, Ten’s Breakfast presenter Magdalena Roze and Crikey cartoonist First Dog On the Moon, also known as Andrew Marlton.
Brook said: “I came up with a slightly provocative idea that Twitter could be the new Cb radio, i.e. something that was hugely popular for a short time, but became faddish and then died away. Brook went on to say that Facebook is not only three times more popular, but engaged users more than Twitter.
