An abandoned two-year-old comes into the lives of a group of circus folk in Little Girl.
The 2010 Italian film drama Little Girl (or La Pivellina in its native tongue) is a tale of a group of people at the margins of society who open their hearts to a stranger who is, in this case, a two-year-old girl.
In a run-down park on the outskirts of Rome, said two-year-old girl (Asia Crippa) is discovered and taken in by a family of hard-luck circus performers. A note in the child’s pocket from a desperate mother reveals little about who she is or why she was left. Soon, a strong bond grows between the girl and her surrogate family, the members of whom move on with their lives while attempting to incorporate her into it.
Co-directed by Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel from a script by Covi,...
