While the multichannel YouTube network awaits a big buyout payday, it has signed a deal to create its first scripted drama series. Maker Studios, which last week thwarted Relativity’s acquisition bid weeks after making a deal with Disney potentially worth $950M, has partnered with the fashion/lifestyle brand Nylon. They will create programming for the Nylon TV YouTube channel, starting with Oh, You Pretty Things, starring Francesca Eastwood. The 10-episode series follows a lifestyle blogger and her group of twentysomething trendsetters looking to make their big break in the underground music and fashion scene on La’s Eastside. Sarah Dumont, Tui Asau, Alexander Nifong and Matthew Grathwol co-star. The show will premiere May 19 on Maker’s fashion and beauty channel The Platform.

Pretty Little Liars may be off the air for a few months, with the exception of a unique Halloween installment, but creator Marlene King has given fans a reason to smile.
"We have two new Rosewood hotties coming to town," King tells The Hollywood Reporter.
We'll meet a childhood pal of Aria's in 2012.
We've already discussed one: Shane Coffey, who will debut in January as the son of Byron's former colleague.
"We find out he's been away from Rosewood for a while, but he's returned to town and he was Aria's childhood friend," King says. "He's the first guy we're casting as our male pretty little liar."
Elsewhere, Alexander Nifong will appear as a character named Sam for at least one episode.
"He plays a blind student at the blind school where Jenna did her rehabilitation in Philadelphia," King says, "and he's going to play a significant role in the show.

Alexander Nifong has landed a "significant role" in Pretty Little Liars. The actor will appear in at least one episode of the show when it returns next year, The Hollywood Reporter says. Pretty Little Liars' executive producer Marlene King teased that the series will have "two new Rosewood hotties" and offered further details of Nifong's character Sam. "[Nifong] plays a blind student at the blind school where Jenna [Tammin Sursok] did her rehabilitation in Philadelphia," she revealed. "And he's going to play a significant role in the show." Meanwhile, Shane Coffey will (more)...

"A" sent the girls on a few missions in the midseason finale of Pretty Little Liars and, as usual, things did not turn out well for nearly everyone involved. Aria was tasked with driving Jackie out of town, but Ezra's ex-fiance is a wily one and ended up turning the tables on Aria. Hanna was blackmailed into stopping her father's wedding. Spencer was forced to break up with Toby. And Jenna and Garret revealed themselves as total masterminds who were setting the girls up for Alison's murder.
Remember the hockey stick that Spencer thought killed Alison? It turns out that it was actually a shovel. The same shovel that was conveniently found with the girls when the police came to arrest them. The girls will be in very serious trouble in the remaining episodes of season 2. There might not be formal charges against them, but TV Line reveals that they...

Award-winning thriller Recreator will have its international premiere next week at Sci-Fi-London.
The film - which won Best Picture at the Philadelphia Terror Fest - tells the story of three teenage hikers who accidentally trigger a deadly experiment that creates their duplicates.
The clones are stronger, faster and smarter than the original kids and plot to kill them and take over their identities.
"It's about out-thinking yourself in order to survive", says the film's writer/director Gregory Orr. He adds he is looking forward to attending the London event, which is known more formally as The International Festival of Science Fiction and Fantastic Film.
Teenage test audiences say the film is a cross between sci-fi classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers and the Twilight series.
The film stars Stella Maeve, who portrayed drummer Sandy West in last year's The Runaways, and John de Lancie, best known to fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation...

Imagine a horror movie without blood, guts, gore, vampires or ghouls—or even a psycho on the loose. Doesn’t sound like your typical scare fare, does it? We do, however, have three teenagers on a camping trip in the woods, and there is a cabin. Does this seems a bit more familiar? Well, yes and no. The threesome do encounter three monsters in the woods…but in Recreator, they happen to be literal duplicates of the story’s young lead characters—Tracy (Stella Maeve), Craig (Alexander Nifong) and Derek (Jamal Mallory-McCree)—only far superior in every way. Where did these clones come from? One creepy suggestion is for sure: We can all be replaced!
