Rubén Arnaiz, director and screenwriter of Bad Weed which we reviewed recently, has released the trailer and poster for his next film – currently in post-production – entitled Scavenger, an action adventure story with touches of fantasy starring Angus Her, Doua Vang, Andrew Dasz, Steven Dasz and Harumi Takashima.
In a post-apocalyptic world, Reiko and Adam escape from the Walled City after stealing something from the Bouden company, which sends a group of mercenaries to catch them. His goal is to reach The Old Woman, a mysterious woman who seems to have the key to start a new future.

This morning, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, St. Ann's Warehouse Founder and Artistic Director Susan Feldman, St. Ann's Warehouse Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson, St. Ann's Warehouse Board Chair Joseph S. Steinberg, Brooklyn Bridge Park President Regina Myer, NYC Council Member Stephen Levin, State Senator Daniel Squadron and others broke ground at the Tobacco Warehouse in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The event signals the beginning of St. Ann's 27 million development of the historic building, originally constructed in 1861, into a 25,000 Sf performing arts center and community hub on the Brooklyn waterfront. The Tobacco Warehouse will serve as a permanent home for St. Ann's, which has activated found spaces for cultural use in downtown Brooklyn since in 1980. The non-profit organization plans to present its opening season in the Brooklyn Bridge Park warehouse in Fall 2015.

Today we have 12 new posters for Jackie Chan‘s last action film Chinese Zodiac, part three in the Armour of God series, the second of which was released in the U.S. under the title Operation Condor.
The film stars Chan, Oliver Platt, Caitlin Dechelle. Kenny G, Steven Dasz, Andrew Dasz, Laura Weissbecker, Sang-woo Kwone, Christian Bachini, and Vincent Sze.
There’s no official U.S. release date for Chinese Zodiac, though it’s currently scheduled to open in Hong Kong on December 12th, 2012, which means if we’re lucky and/or someone thinks they can sell this to Americans, we could get it next Spring.

A new international trailer, poster and featurette have been released for Chinese Zodiac (formerly known as CZ12). Jackie Chan directing, writing, choreographing and starring in this film which is part three in the Armour of God series, the second of which was released in the U.S. under the title Operation Condor.

Broadway veterans Matthew Broderick and Anika Noni Rose were on hand live from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center Tuesday morning (May 3) to announced the 2011 Tony Awards nominees.

The Book of Mormon, the musical comedy from the creators of South Park, was the big winner this morning when the 2011 Tony Award nominations were announced, earning 14 nominations, including Best Musical, Best Book, Best Score, and Best Direction. The Scottsboro Boys also cleaned up, with 12 nods. Tony winners Anika Noni Rose and Matthew Broderick made the announcements, and the ceremony will air Sunday, June 12 on CBS.
