UK filmmaker Eran Creevy has signed on to true crime action-comedy The King Of Sting, produced and financed by Claudia Bluemhuber’s Swiss company Silver Reel.
Creevy is currently writing the screenplay, based on Craig Glazer’s 2010 novel The King Of Sting: The Amazing True Story of a Modern American Outlaw.
Bluemhuber will develop, finance and produce the feature for Silver Reel, and is in Cannes discussing the project with buyers.
The story is inspired by Glazer’s own experience as a college student who goes on a two-year spree of stings, posing as police, IRS agents and hotel managers.

Film and TV financier and production company Silver Reel has boarded to finance and produce The King of Sting which Eran Creevy is set to write and direct. The true-crime action-comedy is an adaptation of the 2010 novel, The King of Sting: The Amazing True Story of a Modern American Outlaw, written by the real-life protagonist, Craig Glazer with Sal Manna.
Creevy, who recently directed two episodes of Netflix’s The Gentlemen series, is currently writing the screenplay whose plot will be set in 1980s America and told in part retrospectively by Glazer’s character in the modern day.
Silver Reel’s Claudia Bluemhuber will develop, finance and produce the feature. The company is in Cannes discussing the project with buyers. Florian Dargel, Alexander Jooss, Karol Griffiths, Gerd Schepers and Gero Bauknecht will executive produce.

Dan Gordon, the screenwriter behind “The Hurricane” starring Denzel Washington and “Wyatt Earp” starring Kevin Costner, has been attached to write the upcoming “The King of Sting.” Based on the con man Craig Glazer’s autobiography of the same name, the story follows Glazer’s 20 years as a con man, posting as an undercover narcotics policeman and pocketing the money he’d seize at his “arrests”.
