Annecy, France — Paramount Animation’s presentation of “Wonder Park” at the Annecy Festival packed a large interest. It was the first Annecy for DreamWorks Animation veteran Mireille Soria since she was appointed president of Paramount Animation by Jim Gianapaolos in July 2017. People were keen to know what she’d say about where she wanted to take the division.
Also, after several years absent from most international events, Spain animation made an impressive splash at March’s Cartoon Movie in Bordeaux. The big film missing there was Paramount Animation’s “Wonder Park,” whose animation vendor and co-producer – along with Nickelodeon Movies – was Madrid’s Ilion Animation Studios. Clips of “Wonder Park” and a song featured at cinema.con. But Annecy’s sneak peek promised a far deeper drill down.

Planet 51
Directed by: Jorge Blanco, Javier Abad, Marcos Martinez
Cast: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Justin Long, Jessica Biel, Seann William Scott
Running Time: 1 hr 30 min
Rating: PG
Release Date: November 20, 2009
Plot: An American astronaut lands on an inhabited planet where the aliens resemble 1950’s Americans. Once he lands, he needs the help of Lem (Long) to hide from the alien army that wants to dissect his brain.
Who’S It For? Kids. Though there are a lot of jokes aimed at adults that will go right over most children’s heads.
Expectations: Not high, the premise seemed kind of like it hinges on one joke, based on the trailer.
Scorecard (0-10)
Actors:
Dwayne Johnson as Captain Charles T. Baker: The Rock continues his assault on children’s movies with this role as the handsome, charismatic, and slightly dim astronaut, Charles Baker. Johnson’s voice is a great fit for this vain,...

I went into Planet 51 short on expectation, due to my history with animated features. Let’s face it, generally they are dumbed down to the point where they’re condescending to kids and hard to enjoy for adults. I’m pleased to report, though, that Planet 51 is a bit of an exception.

Director(s): Jorge Blanco, Javier Abad (co-director) Writer: Joe Stillman Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Gary Oldman, John Cleese, Seann William Scott It's the 1950s on Planet 51, and young Lem (Justin Long) is a budding astronomer. Lem is convinced there's more to the universe than what he's been spoon-fed by his elders, but pacifying the elders proves beneficial in furthering his dreams. Just when things are looking up for Lem, along comes Captain Charles T. Baker (Dwayne Johnson), 21st Century astronaut from Earth, and alien enemy to Planet 51. Lem finds himself caught between saving “Chuck” Baker and siding with the town, a sort of hapless group of vigilantes bent on seeing the alien on the dissection table. While Baker is amazed to find the planet inhabited by little green creatures, he is even more shocked to find himself running for his life through a very Mayberryesque alien landscape.

A look at animated movie "Planet 51" has been shared through a new clip. Unlike previously released snippets which give a lot of portion to Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker, this footage highlights Professer Kripple who wants to show his psychic ability in front of other characters, including Chuck.
Planet 51 is a place where "life is simple, children are carefree and everything is pleasant". Thinking that he is the first person who sets foot on it, Nasa astronaut Chuck is surprised when finding out the planet is already inhabited by little green people. Chuck's existence freaks out the local inhabitants who think he is an alien.
There, Chuck somehow befriends one of the planet's inhabitants named Lem. With the help of his new friend and his robot companion "Rover", he must now find a way out of Planet 51 before he is made into a permanent part of the planet's Alien Invaders Space Museum.

The full theatrical trailer for the animated 3D film Planet 51 has appeared at Yahoo. The film is about a human astronaut (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) who lands on an alien planet, only to discover that it looks exactly like Earth. Sure, the denizens are green aliens, but otherwise they're just like us...and not too happy to have an alien invader in their midst. Gary Oldman, Jessica Biel, Justin Long and John Cleese are also in the voice cast. Joe Stillman (Shrek and Shrek 2, the upcoming Gulliver's Travels) is credited with the script and Jorge Blanco, Javier Abad and Marcos Martinezare co-directed. See the trailer after the jump. Planet 51 isn't quite a world just like ours -- more like stereotypical '50s America, only where the women walk little alien dogs. (By which I mean zenomorph, chestbursting dogs.) The dogs are the least of astronaut Chuck Baker's problems,...

You have Jessica Biel in a movie and it’s just her voice? What a waste. Oh well, at least there are some funny bits in this first trailer for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s latest kiddie movie, the CG flick “Planet 51″. The movie sees Johnson playing an astronaut who lands on an alien planet. It’s basically a 1950s comedy, except we’re the aliens and the aliens are us. Get it? Anyways, first trailer for the film below. The inhabitants of Planet 51 live in fear of alien invasion. Their paranoia is realized when an astronaut arrives from Earth. Befriended by a young resident, he has to avoid capture in order to recover his spaceship and try to return home. Starring the voice talents of Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Gary Oldman, John Cleese, and Rupert Degas. Directed by the trio of Jorge Blanco,...

The CG animated movie “Planet 51″ has a pretty nifty premise: what if there are other alien life out there, and they regard us as the “alien invaders”? The premise actually sounds a bit like “Battle for Terra”, except I believe “Planet 51″ is all comedy, while “Terra” is all “human sucks!” with a serious face. New poster for the movie after the jump. The inhabitants of Planet 51 live in fear of alien invasion. Their paranoia is realized when an astronaut arrives from Earth. Befriended by a young resident, he has to avoid capture in order to recover his spaceship and try to return home. Featuring the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Gary Oldman, and John Cleese. Scott and Johnson are actually reuniting after starring in “The Rundown” together. Jorge Blanco and Javier Abad directs. The humans invade November 20.
