Ever since Norman Osborn's sins were supernaturally cleansed, he's been a force for good in the Marvel Universe, both as the ethical C.E.O. of Oscorp and as the heroic Gold Goblin.
To ensure Norman wouldn't fall into old psychotic habits, Peter agreed to work for him at Oscorp and the two have since bonded. However, thanks to Kraven the Hunter, the former Green Goblin's sins recently returned and inhabited Spider-Man for a time.
That turned him into a very sinister Spider-Man, leaving Norman and Kraven to use a sci-mystical spear to remove the sins from Peter. Or did they? Norman has been acting strange lately. But, then again, so has Peter.
In today's Amazing Spider-Man #50, The Living Brain begins malfunctioning and declares, "Peter Parker Is Not Spider-Man." It also prints out a series of random words which, when read in Norman's office, reveal his cache of Green Goblin weaponry.

In recent days, we've once again started hearing rumblings about Marvel Studios' plans for Nova. The character has been ignored for far too long, with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn happily admitting the hero never interested him.
The expectation is that when the character does finally appear in the MCU, Sam Alexander will hold the Nova mantle. There may, however, still be plans for Richard Rider to act as a mentor or partner to the teenager.
Talking to Screen Rant, Marvel Studios Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum seemed to strongly hint that Nova is destined to take flight on Disney+
"It's new territory for us, developing more shows than we produce," he started. "Nova certainly is exciting to us, we've got some great ideas simmering. I think there's a lot of potential there. I love Nova, also, from the comics, especially the Richard Rider era.

Spider-Man has a couple of major milestones coming up. This year marks the 60 year anniversary of Spider-Man’s first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15. We’re also getting a new volume of Amazing Spider-Man with a brand new first issue by Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr. Marvel is also celebrating the upcoming 900th issue of the long-running comic with Wells working with Ed McGuinness.
Wells’ big Spidey run is coming up this April and it comes with a big question: “What did Spider-Man do?”
While John Romita, Jr. is one of the Spider-Man artists, Zeb Wells also has had a big hand in the wallcrawler’s history. He wrote for the underrated Avenging Spider-Man series, gave us one of the best Lizard comics ever in the “Shed” storyline, brought back Carnage from being torn in half by the Sentry in space, had Spider-Man team up with Barack Obama, as well as many other stories.

Although I haven’t reviewed every issue, that would be a bit too much even for me, I have read every issue of the Heroes Reborn/ Return ‘event’. That’s 18 issues in total, and I can honestly say there was only 2 or 3 issues that I felt were reaching, and struggling to stretch out the material. It’s been a decent storyline, added to by a nice interpretation of the Squadron Supreme characters, and some fine Bronze Age throwback style comics from Jason Aaron, clearly having a whale of a time. All good things though must come to an end, and quite often the ending with these things is the hardest part, never quite living up to the promise of it all. Let’s see what the creative team have left in the locker.

As event comics go, this has been a pretty fun ride so far. Alongside the main Heroes Reborn book, there have been quite a few one-shots taking longer looks at faces both familiar and not so. All, of course, essentially seeing the Marvel Universe as though it was a DC book. Peter Parker was a thinly veiled Jimmy Olsen for example. Tribute? Pastiche? Affectionate homage? Probably a little of all of these things. The Squadron Supreme of course were literally copies of the Justice League themselves, and it’s been nice to delve into their world a little, albeit one which has been created as a replacement to the ‘real’ world. That will change of course, but for now the Squadron are front and centre.
We get two stories here, the main lead featuring Nighthawk,...

Usually, Peter Parker can't catch a break. Now it's more literal as he's set to star in a new series called Non-Stop Spider-Man.
Marvel never really needs an excuse to release another Spider-Man title. He’s their bread and butter. A lot of the time they can just do a regular Spider-Man series and just tack on a new adjective. Sometimes there will be a gimmick to it, like having him team up with other heroes, emphasis on his Avengers status, teaching at the X-Mansion, or having “mature” adventures that include the Absorbing Man turning into cocaine. But hey, he’s a great plug-and-play hero. You can have six Spider-Man titles a month if you force it enough.
Well, we’re getting another series and based purely on the creative team, it already sounds kickass. In June, we’re getting the first issue of Non-Stop Spider-Man, written...

Spider-Man is one of Marvel Comics’ most enduring heroes, first appearing in Amazing Fantasy #15 before going on to star in more than 800 issues of his own solo series across five volumes and almost six decades, the longest continuous tenure in the history of the company. Add to that the nearly one thousand issues of his Spectacular, Astonishing, Sensational and Unlimited variations, and it’s indisputable that Spider-Man is the most beloved resident of the House of Ideas.

Though this weekend’s D23 Expo didn’t yield as much news in the way of Marvel Studios’ theatrical plans as I thought it would, we at least learned much exciting new information when it came to the Disney Plus side of things. Chief among these announcements was the reveal of a TV show to be headlined by She-Hulk.
Right now, not much is known about the gestating project, but it’s quite exciting to ponder the possibilities. If you’re familiar with the source material, then you’re well aware of how Bruce Banner’s cousin, Jennifer Walters, is somewhat comparable to the Smart Hulk seen in Avengers: Endgame insofar that she’s always in green form and retains her intelligence. That said, the producers would be wise to look to Charles Soule’s acclaimed comic book run showcasing what she can do as an attorney.

Even though I’m someone who expects for certain mainstay heroes to remain on the major super teams, I do enjoy the occasional oddball additions to the lineups. In other words, I think it’s cool seeing Batwoman as a member of the Justice League, or Wolverine suiting up with the Avengers.
So, if you’re in the same boat, then you probably dig Blade joining up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Granted, this isn’t entirely new ground to be broken because the daywalker did feature prominently Mark Millar’s Ultimate Comics Avengers once upon a time ago, even if that took place in another universe.
But if you like to argue semantics and yearned for something similar in the 616, then you may want to pay attention to what Jason Aaron’s been doing lately in his run. Long story short, Avengers #10 saw Janet Van Dyne embark on a...

After years of writing great comic book stories for Marvel Comics, Brian Micheal Bendis headed over to DC Comics to try something new and play with their characters. Well, it has been announced that he'll write a new 12-part Batman story arc in Batman Giant. This is the first time he will be writing a story for the Dark Knight and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with the character.
This comic is a part of DC's new line of 100-page Giant comics for Walmart. Bendis has had his fair share of working with dark, gritty, and grounded heroes in the past such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones, so Batman should be a fun character for him to play with.
What's interesting is that Bendis is currently writing Superman for DC and while he's taking on Batman for DC's Walmart-exclusive titles, DC's Batman writer Tom King will write a 12-issue Superman story arc.

If you’re of a certain generation, you remember the big summertime issues that your parents picked up for you on the way to whatever you were doing that required a long car ride to get there– comics that gave you new stories combined with older fare that brought you into a richer shared universe.
This summer, Walmart shoppers will get a chance to do that again as DC Entertainment announced today that a series of “giant” monthly comics will be sold exclusively in more than 3,000 participating Walmart stores around the country.
Available for $4.99, each 100-page anthology features all-new stories written exclusively for these books by some of DC’s top creative talents, including Tom King, Dan Jurgens, Brian Michael Bendis, Andy Kubert (New Challengers) and others. Each title will also include additional story arcs drawn from fan-favorite DC eras such as the New 52, Rebirth and the New Age of DC Heroes.

Marvel Comics has a new Avengers comic being released and they've announced the new superhero roster that will make up the team! In case you weren't aware, Marvel Comics will be kicking off a relaunch of almost their entire superhero comic book line. It will launch this May with this new Avengers series from writer Jason Aaron and artist Ed McGuinness.
The new team consists of Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, She-Hulk, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, and Ghost Rider.
This will be the only Avengers comic in the new comic book relaunch. It will be replacing the multiple-series franchise including New Avengers, Secret Avengers, and Uncanny Avengers. There will be 18 issues of the Avengers comic released a year. According to IGN:

In my time as a lover of comic books, one thing I’ve noticed that is sure to grab the attention of readers is whenever one of the big superhero teams undergoes a lineup change. In this case, it’s the Avengers, who’ll experience a facelift of sorts upon the launch of their new series.
Now, we did have an indication that a shift was coming about a month ago, but that painted a drastically different picture. And while we’re not sure of what the fallout of No Surrender may yield, ComicBook.com tells us “the three Avengers teams that joined forces in that consolidated single series are pared down to the point that there are practically no Avengers left. This leaves a vacuum for this new Avengers team form.”
When it comes to the lineup we’re actually getting, expect the core of Iron Man, Thor and...

He’s been a breakout star since he could bark, a faithful sidekick to his Inhuman masters, and has helped protect an empire. Now, he’s got his own mission to take on as Marvel announce Lockjaw #1, a new four-part mini, debuting in February 2018, written by Daniel Kibblesmith with art by Carlos Villa.
When Lockjaw finds out his long-lost siblings are in danger, he’ll embark on a journey which will result in a teleporting, mind-bending adventure. Said series editor Wil Moss:
We’re super excited about this book. Daniel Kibblesmith – a hilarious writer who works on The Late Show and recently published a book called Santa’s Husband – has cooked up an incredibly fun, heart-filled romp around the Marvel Universe. Since 2012, attending Motor City Comic Con has become a springtime tradition of mine and, in that time, I’ve seen the show grow from a moderately sized convention to a pop culture juggernaut that has become the largest of its kind in the state of Michigan. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if they surpassed the 60,000 mark when it came to attendance this year. If so, that’d make it one of the biggest shows in North America. [Note: Since publishing this article, they’ve been confirmed to have exceeded 55,000, which is still very impressive.]
And who could blame anyone for showing up, be they diehard geek, casual moviegoer or just plain curious? Boasting a handful of cast members from The Walking Dead, Hellboy himself in Ron Perlman, as well as DC TV stars such as Robin Lord Taylor (Gotham) and John Barrowman (Arrow), to name but a few,...

Well, Venom certainly has been the talk of the town in recent weeks, hasn’t he? Aside from a movie starring the cult favorite anti-hero being closer to becoming a reality than ever before, True Believers can sleep easier knowing that Eddie Brock will make his triumphant return to the comic books in a matter of weeks.
It’s well known that several others have bonded with the symbiote in recent years and each probably accrued a generous fan base, but it stands to reason that the majority will always yearn for the first to take up a specific mantle to come back at some point. And that’s what makes the next few months of Venom comics so special.

It has been rumoured for a while that Marvel Now! would see a new Guardians of the Galaxy series from Avengers Assemble writer Brian Michael Bendis, and the following teaser (which comes courtesy of MTV Geek) seemingly confirms exactly that. A masked Star-Lord was featured on Adi Granov's cover of Marvel Now! Point One, but the young blonde haired boy in the image below certainly doesn't seem to be him! (or is it?!) This is the first time that Bendis and artist Steve McNiven will have worked together since they brought back 'The Sentry' in the pages of New Avengers. Marvel Now! While the introduction of Agent Coulson and a Nick Fury who resembles the big screen Samuel L. On the left, the cover to Marvel Comics’ Captain Marvel #3, drawn by the gifted Ed McGuinness, out on sale in several weeks. If the first issue is any indication, it’s worth reading.
On the right, the cover to Fawcett Comics’ Master Comics #105, cover-dated July 1949 featuring Captain Marvel Jr., drawn by the legendary Kurt Schaffenberger .
You might think I’m going to jump up and down screaming “Rip-off! Rip-off!” Well, what do you think this is, The Comics Journal? No, McGuinness is an honorable man (well, to the best of my understanding; I haven’t checked to see if he has an arrest record or anything) and, clearly, it’s the modern Captain Marvel nodding to the classic Captain Marvel – in each case, one of the many – and we have ever right to infer this is a tribute. A common, and noble, practice in comics. This ain’t Roy Lichtenstein...

We already know that Marcus Johnson Nick Fury is keeping tabs on Cable and Nova, but it looks like Ant-Man will also be playing a big role in this October's Marvel Now! initiative. So, who exactly is behind the mask? It could be the original Hank Pym (especially now that work on the film is finally moving ahead) but it seems far more likely that it is in fact Scott Lang.
